Item type:Item, A NEW MODEL AND HEURISTIC ALGORITHMS FOR THE MULTIPLE-DEPOT VEHICLE SCHEDULING PROBLEM(2010-03-01) ;Wang, Jin-Yuan ;Lin, Chih-Kang ;運輸與物流管理系 註:原交通所+運管所Department of Transportation and Logistics ManagementThe multiple-depot vehicle scheduling problem (MDVSP) addresses the work of assigning vehicles to serve a given set of time trips with the consideration of certain requirements representing the market rules. Extensive studies in the literature address the MDVSP, but because of the complexity of the problem, the findings of those researchers are still not enough to represent real world situations in Taiwan. Formulation for the MDVSP typically contains the following assumptions: ( 1) the size of fleet or maximum number of available vehicles at each depot is known already, (2) all trip serving costs are usually simplified as a single term in the objective function, which fails to reflect public transit operator concerns, (3) the applied deadheading strategy is static less flexibility, (4) there is no discussion of differences of route change frequency in the problem. This paper presents a new MDVSP model to address the above issues. A greedy heuristic algorithm based on the divide-and-conquer technique is also proposed to solve the MDVSP effectively. Computational tests are performed on the Kinmen Bus Administration (KBA) and results demonstrate that the proposed new model and the greedy heuristic algorithm for the MDVSP are effective in solving real world problems.Item type:Item, DEVELOPMENT OF A DYNAMIC TRIP-PLANNING SYSTEM FOR SEAMLESS FEEDER INFORMATION SERVICE(2009-01-01) ;Su, Jau-Ming ;Chang, Chih-Hung ;Lin, Chih-Kang ;Chang, Chih-Tang運輸與物流管理系 註:原交通所+運管所The multi-model between the real-time inter-city and intra-city transit information are not taken into consideration by the existed trip planning systems in Taiwan. Besides, during the process of trip path connections, the real-time transit information and the access mode for transit station is not provided. The planning result cannot fulfill user's requirement, thus user's willingness of utilizing public transportation is low. This paper develops a seamless transit trip planning system which takes inter-city transportations as mainstays and considers the all of feeder modes, such as bicycle, private vehicles or transit service, to integrate the related trip information in-between such as routes, schedules, and AVL information. In this system, the seamless trip-planning algorithm which also proposes in this study is the main component of planning travelers' trip.Item type:Item, Hierarchical power delivery network analysis using Markov chains(2007) ;Huang, Pei-Yu ;Lin, Chih-Kang ;Lee, Yu-Min ;電信工程研究所Institute of Communications EngineeringThis paper proposes a Markov chain based hierarchical method to efficiently analyze the power delivery network. After the network being partitioned into several subnetworks, each subnetwork is transformed into a local Markov chain. Then, the connective relations between all subnetworks are modeled as a global Markov chain. Finally, those local and the global Markov chains are incorporated to build a hierarchical bipartite Markov chain engine to analyze the power delivery network. The experimental results not only demonstrate the accuracy of proposed method compared with a very accurate time domain solver [1], but also show its significant runtime improvement, over 200 times faster than the InductWise [1] and over 10 times faster than the IEKS method [2], and less memory usage.
