Item type:Item, A green positioning algorithm for Campus Guidance System(2012) ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Lin, Bon-Yeh ;Lin, Chun-Hao ;Liu, Yen-SzuLo, Chi-ChunIn this paper, we propose a new CGS, called the Green Campus Guidance System (GCGS). The GCGS employs the Fingerprint Position Algorithm (FPA) using Received Signal Strength (RSS) from mobile stations/user equipment through cellular networks and Location-Based Services (LBSs) for user reference. In experiments, the results show that the error of location estimation using FPA is about 9.92 m. As to power consumption, the cost per sample of GPS is 27.68 times of that of FPA. Consequently, the FPA exerts itself as a green positioning algorithm, and thus can be used to support GCGS.Item type:Item, A Real-time Campus Guidance System Based on Energy Efficient Location Determination Method(2011) ;Lin, Chun-Hao ;Liu, Yen-Szu ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Lin, Bon-YehLo, Chi-ChunRecently guidance system is becoming more popular, as more people realize its benefits. There have been many developments on campus guidance system (CGS) in personal digital assistant (PDA) and smart phone. The building and promotion of the energy efficient location determination method is an important part of CGS. The cellular-based location determination using RSS from cellular network is more immediately, power-effective, and easy to deploy and maintain than traditional methods. In this paper, we design the CGS which provides the fingerprint position algorithm (FPA) using RSS from cellular networks and location-based service (LBS) for user reference. In experiments, we compare the estimated positioning information with the real information from global position system (GPS) receiver. The results show that the error of location estimation using FPA is about 9.92 meters. This approach is feasible to be applied to CGS.Item type:Item, A Real-Time Pothole Detection Approach for Intelligent Transportation System(2015-01-01) ;Wang, Hsiu-Wen ;Chen, Chi-Hua ;Cheng, Ding-Yuan ;Lin, Chun-HaoLo, Chi-ChunIn recent years, fast economic growth and rapid technology advance have led to significant impact on the quality of traditional transport system. Intelligent transportation system(ITS), which aims to improve the transport system, has become more and more popular. Furthermore, improving the safety of traffic is an important issue of ITS, and the pothole on the road causes serious harm to drivers' safety. Therefore, drivers' safety may be improved with the establishment of real-time pothole detection system for sharing the pothole information. Moreover, using the mobile device to detect potholes has been more popular in recent years. This approach can detect potholes with lower cost in a comprehensive environment. This study proposes a pothole detection method based on the mobile sensing. The accelerometer data is normalized by Euler angle computation and is adopted in the pothole detection algorithm to obtain the pothole information. Moreover, the spatial interpolation method is used to reduce the location errors from global positioning system (GPS) data. In experiments, the results show that the proposed approach can precisely detect potholes without false-positives, and the higher accuracy is performed by the proposed approach. Therefore, the proposed real-time pothole detection approach can be used to improve the safety of traffic for ITS.Item type:Item, Accumulated plasmonic effects of gold nanoparticle-decorated PEGylated graphene oxides in organic light-emitting diodes(2020-09-01) ;Chuang, Ming-Kai ;Lin, Chun-Hao ;Chen, Fang-Chung ;交大名義發表光電工程學系Amphiphilic Au nanoparticle-decorated PEGylated graphene oxides (Au@PEG-GO) are used to construct multiple plasmonic nanostructures for enhancing the performance of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Because of the long side-chains of the Au@PEG-GO nanocomposites, the nanoparticles can be well dispersed both in organic and aqueous solvents, allowing them to be incorporated readily into the buffer layers, such as poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): polystyrenesulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) and the organic photoactive layers within OLEDs during the soultion processes. Herein, the Au@PEG-GO nanocomposites are blended into either the PEDOT:PSS or the emissive layer of OLEDs to trigger surface plasmonic effects, thereby improving the device efficiencies. The current efficiencies are improved by ca. 20% for both cases. More importantly, the simultaneous addition of the Au@PEG-GO nanocomposites into both layers leads to even pronounced plasmonic effects. Under the optimized condition, the current efficiency is enhanced by up to 38%, suggesting the plasmonic fields from both layers attributed to the device enhancement. We anticipate that the accumulated plasmonic effects originating from the multiple plasmonic nanostructures will open up new avenues for improving the performance of various solution-processed optoelectronic devices involving organic dyes.Item type:Item, Image Based Contactless Blood Pressure Assessment using Pulse Transit Time(2017-01-01) ;Huang, Po-Wei ;Lin, Chun-Hao ;Chung, Meng-Liang ;Lin, Tzu-MinWu, Bing-FeiRecent years have seen increased attention being given to Blood Pressure (BP) monitoring. Among all kinds of measurements, the monitors based on Pulse Transit Time (PTT) have gain plenty of attention due to its continuous and cuffless features. Additionally, several studies proposed a fancy way to estimate photoplethysmography (PPG) signal simply via a regular webcam. Nevertheless, literatures on issues of integrating these two advanced techniques have emerged on a slowly and scattered way. Furthermore, accuracy of BP prediction model based on PTT is often limited due to the lack of data. To address the above-mentioned problems, we proposed an image based BP measurement algorithm using k-nearest neighbor and transfer learning results from MIMICII database to real task. The study also introduces newly defined PTT features which are especially suitable for image based PPG and domain adaptation. Compared with the state-of-the-art algorithm, root mean square error of SBP evaluation has been reduced from 15.08 to 14.02.Item type:Item, Plasmonic Effects of Amphiphilic Gold Nanoparticles in Polymer Optoelectronic Devices(2016) ;Chuang, Ming-Kai ;Lin, Chun-Hao ;Chen, Fang-Chung ;光電工程學系Department of PhotonicsAmphiphilic gold nanoparticles have been synthesized and employed for improving the performance of polymer optoelectronics devices. Such nanocomposites could be readily incoporated into the buffer and/or photoactive layers, resulting in obvious enhancements in device efficiencies.Item type:Item, Tunable microcavities in organic light-emitting diodes by way of low-refractive-index polymer doping(2014-12-01) ;Ling, An-Kai ;Lin, Chun-Hao ;Liang, Hsun ;Chen, Fang-Chung光電工程學系A method for enhancing the light out-coupling efficiency of organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) has been demonstrated by blending a low-refractive-index polymer, poly(2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropyl methacrylate) (PPFPMA), into the emission layer. The resonant wavelength of the weak microcavity devices blueshifted accompanied with a decrease in refractive indices of the light-emitting layers after the addition of PPFPMA. Stronger directed emission toward the surface normal was obtained when the resonant wavelength became closer to the peak wavelength of intrinsic emission spectrum of the organic emitters. The luminous efficiency of the devices was enhanced by more than 20%. The results suggest that the microcavity properties of the OLEDs can be tunable through blending low-refractive-index materials.
