Item type:Item, Aharonov-Bohm effect in phase shifts(2002-05-01) ;Lin, DH ;物理研究所Institute of PhysicsWe discuss the influence of the Aharonov-Bohm effect on phase shifts. The general integral representation of phase shifts for short-range potentials with an Aharonov-Bohm flux at the origin is given. The interesting result is that the phase shifts delta(gamma) will become (n + 1/2)pi (n = 0,1,2,...) as long as the flux is adjusted at the values Phi = (n + 1/2)Phi(0), where Phi(0) = (2pi(h) over barc/ e) is the fundamental flux quantum. According to the Levison theorem, it implies that new bound states will appear at these values. This phenomenon may be useful in controlling the number of bound states in quantum well as well as the spectra of light emission.Item type:Item, Exact Green function of Aharonov-Bhm billiard system(2001-03-30) ;Chuu, DS ;Lin, DH ;電子物理學系Department of ElectrophysicsThe exact Green functions of the relativistic spherical quantum Aharonov-Bohm billiard systems in two- and three-dimensional spaces are given by the path integral approach. The transcendental equations for determining the energy spectra are discussed.Item type:Item, Levinson theorem with the nonlocal Aharonov-Bohm effect(2003-11-01) ;Lin, DH ;應用數學系Department of Applied MathematicsLevinson theorem for a charged particle moving in an arbitrary short-range potential and the field of the Aharonov-Bohm magnetic flux is established. The theorem constructs the relation delta(alpha)(0)=n(alpha)pi between the phase shift delta(alpha)(k) of scattering state at zero momentum and the total number n(alpha) of bound states for the alphath angular-momentum channel, where alpha=\m+mu(0)\ is a real number (m=integer, and mu(0)=-Phi/Phi(0) with Phi being the magnetic flux and Phi(0)=hc/e the fundamental flux quantum). The relation means that the phase shift at the threshold of zero momentum can serve as a counter for the bound states in the general angular-momentum channel.Item type:Item, Partial wave analysis of scattering with nonlocal Aharonov-Bohm effect(2003-12-29) ;Lin, DH ;應用數學系Department of Applied MathematicsPartial wave theory of a two-dimensional scattering problem for an arbitrary short range potential and a nonlocal Aharonov-Bohm magnetic flux is established. The scattering process of a "hard disk" like potential and the magnetic flux is examined. Since the nonlocal influence of magnetic flux on the charged particles is universal, the nonlocal effect in hard disk case is expected to appear in quite general potential system and will be useful in understanding some phenomena in mesoscopic physics. Due to the dynamics of the system in momentum space being in curve space, our result not only gives the Green function of this interesting system in momentum space but provides the second example to answer an open problem of quantum dynamics in curved spaces posed by DeWitt in 1957: We find that the physical Hamiltonian in curved spaces does not contain the Riemannian scalar curvature R. The energy spectra and the discrete as well as continuous wavefunctions are evaluated explicitly.Item type:Item, Semiclassical quantization for the spherically symmetric systems under an Aharonov-Bohm magnetic flux(2002-05-01) ;Kao, WF ;Luan, PG ;Lin, DH ;物理研究所Institute of PhysicsThe semiclassical quantization rule is derived for a system with a spherically symmetric potential V(r)similar tor(nu)(-2>1. The rule is even derived in the large principal quantum number limit n>>1. We also discuss the power parameter nu dependence of the energy spectra pattern in this paper.Item type:Item, The exact Green function of a relativistic Coulomb system via the transformation method(2000-08-18) ;Chuu, DS ;Luan, PG ;Lin, DH ;電子物理學系Department of ElectrophysicsThe exact Green function of a relativistic Coulomb system is given by the transformation method. The earlier treatments are based on the multiple-valued transformation of Kustaanheimo and Stiefel as well as the perturbation expansions. The method presented in this paper relates the relativistic Coulomb path integral to the simple ones and may apply to a large class of problems.
