Item type:Item, A Multi-objective PSO for Job-shop Scheduling Problems(2009) ;Sha, D. Y. ;Lin, H. H. ;工業工程與管理學系Department of Industrial Engineering and ManagementMost previous research into the job-shop scheduling problem has concentrated on finding a single optimal solution (e.g., makespan), even though the actual requirement of most production systems requires multi-objective optimization. The aim of this paper is to construct a particle swarm optimization (PSO) for an elaborate multi-objective job-shop scheduling problem. The original PSO was used to solve continuous optimization problems. Due to the discrete solution spaces of scheduling optimization problems, the authors modified the particle position representation, particle movement, and particle velocity in this study. The modified PSO was used to solve various benchmark problems. Test results demonstrated that the modified PSO performed better in search quality and efficiency than traditional evolutionary heuristics.Item type:Item, A Novel Multivariate Analysis Method for Bio-Signal Processing(2009) ;Lin, H. H. ;Change, S. H. ;Chiou, Y. J. ;Lin, J. H.Hsiao, T. C.Often, multivariate analysis is wildly used to process "signal information", which includes spectrum analysis, bio-signal processing and etc. In general, Least Squares (LS) and PLS fall into overfitting problem with ill-posed condition, which means the future selections make the training data have better adaptability, but the quality of the prediction would be poor, compared with the testing data. However, the goal of these models is to have consistent prediction between testing and training data. Therefore, in this study, we present a novel MVA model, Partial Regularized Least Squares, which applies regularization algorithm (entropy regularization), to Partial Least Square (PLS) method to cope with the problem mentioned above. In this paper, we briefly introduce the conventional methods and also clearly define the model, PRLS. Then, the new approach is applied to several real world cases and the outcomes demonstrate that while calibrating data with noises, PRLS shows better noise reduction performance and lower time complexity than cross-validation (CV) technique and original PLS method which indicates that PRLS is capable of processing "Bio-signal". Finally, in the future we expect utilizing another two regularization techniques instead of the one in the paper to identify the performance differentiations.Item type:Item, Efficiency enhancement of the poly-silicon solar cell using self-assembled dielectric nanoparticles(2011-08-01) ;Huang, C. K. ;Lin, H. H. ;Chen, J. Y. ;Sun, K. W.Chang, W. -L.In this study, silica nanospheres dispersed in a surfactant solution were spin-coated on commercially available silicon solar cells to form colloidal crystals on the surface. This self-assembled nanoparticle layer served as an anti-reflection (AR) layer for solar cell devices. The self-assembled layer exhibits excellent anti-reflection properties in the UV and NIR wavelength regions, and the reflectance spectra match the theoretical prediction done using the rigorous coupled-wave analysis model. We also showed that the overall conversion efficiency of polycrystalline Si solar cells coated with the silica nanospheres was increased from 11% to 12.3% when using optimized spin-coating parameters and nanoparticle concentrations. H.Berco, D.We investigate effects of disorder and thermal fluctuations on the Abrikosov state of type II superconductors applying the Monte Carlo method to Ginzburg-Landau theory to confirm earlier replica calculation The vortex phase diagram has two transition lines the melting line and the vortex glass transition lines in both crystalline and homogeneous states The glass line is always a continuous transition while the melting line is the first order (C) 2010 Elsevier BV All rights reservedItem type:Item, Probing Landau quantization with the presence of insulator-quantum Hall transition in a GaAs two-dimensional electron system(2008-07-23) ;Chen, Kuang Yao ;Chang, Y. H. ;Liang, C-T ;Aoki, N.Ochiai, Y.Magneto-transport measurements are performed on the two-dimensional electron system (2DES) in an AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructure. By increasing the magnetic field perpendicular to the 2DES, magneto-resistivity oscillations due to Landau quantization can be identified just near the direct insulator-quantum Hall (I-QH) transition. However, different mobilities are obtained from the oscillations and transition point. Our study shows that the direct I-QH transition does not always correspond to the onset of strong localization.Item type:Item, Relaxation-free strained SiGe with super anneal for 32nm high performance PMOS and beyond(2006) ;Yu, Ming H. ;Li, J. H. ;Lin, H. H. ;Chen, C. H.Ku, K. C.The interaction of epitaxially strained SiGe and super annealing or millisecond anneal in high performance PFET fabrication was, for the first time, systematically investigated. When super annealing was applied, the quality of SiGe/Si interface, affected by subsequent ion implantation and post-SiGe thermal treatment, played an important role in SiGe strain relaxation incurring channel stress loss and defect injection to Si substrate resulting in high junction leakage. Defect injection mechanism was proposed to explain the defect formation in Si substrate. The new processing scheme, which preserved SiGe as relaxation-free and avoided defect injection, was developed and for 32nm technology. The device performance gain with 10% Id,sat increment resulting from fully strained SiGe was achieved.
