Item type:Item, 2.5 GHz voltage controlled FBAR oscillator(2008) ;Lin, J. H. ;Kao, Y. H. ;電信工程研究所Institute of Communications EngineeringA film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) is designed and fabricated in this work. Using this resonator, a 2.5 GHz voltage-controlled FBAR oscillator is designed and realized with hybrid circuits. The electronic tuning range exceeds +/- 6%. The 2nd harmonics of oscillator is suppressed below 40 dB. The oscillator provides 14.5 dBm of output power and consumes 65 mA from +5V DC power supply.Item type:Item, A Novel Multivariate Analysis Method for Bio-Signal Processing(2009) ;Lin, H. H. ;Change, S. H. ;Chiou, Y. J. ;Lin, J. H.Hsiao, T. C.Often, multivariate analysis is wildly used to process "signal information", which includes spectrum analysis, bio-signal processing and etc. In general, Least Squares (LS) and PLS fall into overfitting problem with ill-posed condition, which means the future selections make the training data have better adaptability, but the quality of the prediction would be poor, compared with the testing data. However, the goal of these models is to have consistent prediction between testing and training data. Therefore, in this study, we present a novel MVA model, Partial Regularized Least Squares, which applies regularization algorithm (entropy regularization), to Partial Least Square (PLS) method to cope with the problem mentioned above. In this paper, we briefly introduce the conventional methods and also clearly define the model, PRLS. Then, the new approach is applied to several real world cases and the outcomes demonstrate that while calibrating data with noises, PRLS shows better noise reduction performance and lower time complexity than cross-validation (CV) technique and original PLS method which indicates that PRLS is capable of processing "Bio-signal". Finally, in the future we expect utilizing another two regularization techniques instead of the one in the paper to identify the performance differentiations.Item type:Item, Actively Q-switched mode-locked Yb-doped fiber laser with high mode-locking contrast(2012-02-01) ;Yen, T. H. ;Lin, J. H. ;Lai, Y. ;光電工程學系Department of PhotonicsReliable Q-switched and mode-locked operation of Yb-doped fiber lasers is investigated by employing an acousto-optic modulator (AOM) in a linear cavity configuration. The widths and shapes of the Q-switched envelopes mainly depend on the external modulation frequency of the AOM and near symmetric Q-switched pulses can be generated. Within the Q-switched envelopes, harmonic mode-locked pulses with near 100% modulation depth at the 40 MHz repetition rate are experimentally observed.Item type:Item, Adaptation to the edge of chaos in a self-starting Kerr-lens mode-locked laser(2009-08-01) ;Hsu, C. C. ;Lin, J. H. ;Hsieh, W. F. ;光電工程學系Department of PhotonicsWe experimentally and numerically demonstrated that self-focusing acts as a slow-varying control parameter that suppresses the transient chaos to reach a stable mode-locking (ML) state in a self-starting Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser without external modulation and feedback control. Based on Fox-Li's approach, including the self-focusing effect, the theoretical simulation reveals that the self-focusing effect is responsible for the self-adaptation. The self-adaptation occurs at the boundary between the chaotic and continuous output regions in which the laser system begins with a transient chaotic state with fractal correlation dimension, and then evolves with reducing dimension into the stable ML state.Item type:Item, Effect of Mn substitution on electronic structure of Ca(9)Y(PO(4))(7):Eu(2+), Mn(2+) phosphor determined by X-ray absorption spectroscopy(2011-10-27) ;Lu, Y. R. ;Huang, C. H. ;Chen, T. M. ;Lin, J. H.Ma, Y. R.The single-composition Ca(9)Y(PO(4))(7):Eu(2+), Mn(2+) phosphors were synthesized by a solid-state reaction. The luminescent properties and electronic structures were investigated by photoluminescence (PL) and X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES). The PL demonstrated energy transfer and a red-shift as the Mn doping level was increased. The energy transfer is ascribed to charge transfer between Eu and Mn. The change of the PL intensity is caused by the increased O 2p-Mn 3d hybridization. The narrowing of the band gap, which finding is supported by the red-shift, is responsible for the formation of the Mn-related states close to the conduction band minimum. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. C.Lin, J. -Y.The vibrational and magnetic Raman excitation spectra were examined in overdoped Y1-xCaxBa2Cu3O7-delta thin films. Below T-c, certain phonons in undoped YBa2Cu3O7-delta (YBCO) show strong self-energy effects, which gradually vanish with increasing Ca concentration into the overdoped regime. The observed B-1g symmetry two-magnon excitation peak near 2900 cm(-1) in YBCO is significantly broadened, weakened, and shifts to the lower frequency with increasing Ca content, indicating the effective value of magnetic superexchange energy decreases and that the life time of the magrions becomes shorter with increasing hole concentrations. R. ;Lin, J. H. ;Song, K. T. ;Lin, K. H.Hsieh, W. F.We demonstrated a diode-pumped passively mode-locked c-cut Nd:LuVO(4) picosecond laser with a semiconductor saturable-absorber mirror (SESAM) at a wavelength of 1067.8 nm. Due to the wide bandwidth of 0.48 nm, stable mode-locking has been generated with a duration as short as 3.7 ps, which is shorter than for the a-cut Nd:LuVO(4) laser. A maximum output power of 1.67 W was achieved to give a highest peak power of 3.47 KW at 18 W absorbed pump power.Item type:Item, Passive mode-locking in diode-pumped c-cut Nd:LuVO4 laser with a semiconductor saturable-absorber mirror(2009-07-01) ;Chen, H.
