Item type:Item, Compact efficient passively Q-switched Nd : GdVO4/PPLN/Cr4+: YAG tunable intracavity optical parametric oscillator(2005-11-14) ;Tsai, LY ;Chen, YF ;Lin, ST ;Lin, YYHuang, YCWe report on a compact efficient diode pumped passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/ Cr4+:YAG/ PPLN intracavity optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with a shared-resonator configuration. Experimental results reveal that the amplitude stability of the shared-resonator configuration is substantially superior to that of the conventional coupled-resonator configuration. At a diode pump power of 15 W, the compact intracavity OPO cavity produces the average power greater than 900 mW with a pulse repetition rate of 36 kHz. The output pulses noticeably display the mode-locking phenomenon that leads to the maximum peak power to be higher than 20 kW. At temperatures in the range 300 K greater than or equal to T greater than or equal to 50 K, the resistivities follow a simple inverse temperature law: rho(T) rho(0)/T(1.0+/-0.1). Below 1 K, the resistivity of a weakly insulating sample exhibited a simple inverse temperature law where rho(T) = rho0/T-0.33 and not an activated variable-range hopping (VRH) law. Strongly insulating samples exhibit saturation of their resistivities to finite values as T --> 0 K. These saturation resistivity values are believed to arise from the presence of a second metallic phase located within the quasicrystal's structure. By extrapolating the measured resistivities at 22 mK to absolute zero, the saturation conductivity values were estimated at T = 0 K and subtracted from the conductivity data points. These 'corrected' data, corresponding only to the QC phase, were found to follow activated VRH laws, having hopping exponents y that vary in the range 0.18 less than or equal to y less than or equal to 0.43. The activated VRH behaviours are observed only below 1 K. The magnetoresistances (MRs) of these samples are also anomalous. The MRs can be explained by including contributions from both the saturation conductivity values and from the QC MR ratios, estimated using the wavefunction shrinkage model.Item type:Item, Mobile construction supply chain management using PDA and bar codes(2005-07-01) ;Tserng, HP ;Dzeng, RJ ;Lin, YC ;Lin, ST土木工程學系Construction project control aims to effectively obtain real-time information and enhance dynamic control by utilizing information sharing and connecting involved participants of the projects to reduce construction conflicts and project delays. However, extending the construction project control system to job sites is not considered efficient because using notebooks in a harsh environment like a construction site is not particularly a conventional practice. Meanwhile, paper-based documents of the site processes are ineffective and cannot get the quick response from the office and project control center Integrating promising information technologies such as personal digital assistants (PDA), bar code scanning, and data entry mechanisms, can be extremely useful in improving the effectiveness and convenience of information flow in construction supply chain control systems. Bar code scanning is appropriate for several construction applications, providing cost savings through increased speed and accuracy of data entry. This article demonstrates the effectiveness of a bar-code-enabled PDA application, called the mobile construction supply chain management (M-ConSCM) System, that responds efficiently and enhances the information flow between offices and sites in a construction supply chain environment. The advantage of the M-ConSCM system lies not only in improving the efficiency of work for on-site engineers, but also providing the Kanban-like visual control system for project participants to control the whole project. Moreover, this article presents a generic system architecture and its implementation.Item type:Item, Precursor ISI-free frame synchronization for DMT VDSL system(2002-08-01) ;Lin, ST ;Wei, CH ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsA new modified maximum likelihood (ML) algorithm for frame synchronization in discrete multitone VDSL transmission system is presented. Computer simulation results are included to show its improvement in Et/N-0 of each tone in the received data. This algorithm estimates the frame boundary at the initial transition edge rather than at the middle peak of a shortened twisted-pair channel response. The timing margin degradation caused by precursor intersymbol interference (ISI) can be reduced significantly, especially at the sub-channel loaded with more bits.Item type:Item, The path precompensation method for flexible arm robot(1997-09-01) ;Chin, JH ;Lin, ST ;交大名義發表 ;機械工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityThis paper constructed a closed loop path precompensation method for a flexible arm robot. A torque computation method taking care of the elastic arm deformation was first proposed and discussed. A concept of partial deformation compensation was subsequently proposed to improve the torque profiles and the trajectory fidelity. The advantage of this concept was first shown by examples of planar trajectory. After the construction of the closed-loop path precompensation method for a flexible arm; the torque method and partial deformation compensation were incorporated to track the spatial trajectory. Numerical simulations were given to show the usefulness of the proposed concept and method. In this process, NPAHs were extracted ultrasonically followed by analysis by using a reversed phase column with an aqueous eluent containing 70% aqueous acetonitrile and sodium monocholoroacetate as a buffer solution. The extraction efficiencies were above 83% for 1-nitropyrene and 1,3-dinitropyrene (1,3-DNP) 1,6-DNP, and 1,8-DNP, and calibration graphs were linear with very good correlation coefficients (r > 0.999) and the detection limits were in the range of 1.0-2.2 pg for dinitropyrenes and nitropyrene. The proposed method provides a relatively simple and convenient procedure for determining the NPAHs samples in airborne particulate. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
