Item type:Item, An integrated algorithm for solving multi-customer joint replenishment problem with districting consideration(2020-06-01) ;Yao, Ming-Jong ;Lin, Jen-Yen ;Lin, Yu-Liang ;Fang, Shu-Cherng運輸與物流管理系 註:原交通所+運管所This paper studies a multi-customer joint replenishment problem with districting consideration (MJRPDC) which is of particular importance to a company that outsources its transportation and delivery operations to a third-party logistics (3PL) service provider. To solve the problem, we first propose an innovative search algorithm for solving the traditional multi-customer joint replenishment problem in a given zone. Then we design a GA-based framework to handle the corresponding districting problem based on the performance of each district evaluated by using the proposed search algorithm. The proposed methodologies are demonstrated by using an example of solving MJRPDC for a bank.Item type:Item, Asymmetries in Porous Membranes: Fabrication of Anodic Aluminum Oxide Membranes with Double-Sized Nanopores and Controlled Surface Properties(2019-06-13) ;Liu, Chih-Ting ;Lin, Yu-Liang ;Chu, Chien-Wei ;Chang, Chun-WeiChiu, Yu-JingRecently, anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes with ordered and monodispersed nanopores have attracted significant attention because the pore sizes and lengths of the AAO membranes can be systematically controlled by changing the anodization parameters. Asymmetries of geometry, wettability, charge, and polarity in nanoporous AAO membranes are now highly desired for applications such as drug delivery, membrane filtration, and catalysis. Although the asymmetries in AAO membranes have been widely studied, AAO membranes whose nanopores simultaneously possess more than two asymmetric properties still need to be developed. In this work, we present a simple method to fabricate asymmetric AAO membranes by combining the post-treatments with the three-step anodization method. The asymmetries of the AAO membranes simultaneously possessing larger nanopores with higher hydrophobicity and smaller nanopores with lower hydrophobicity are characterized by scanning electron microscopy, water contact angle measurements, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Using the asymmetric AAO membranes, nanowires of polystyrene and poly(styreneb/ock-dimethylsiloxane) with double-sized diameters are also fabricated via the melt and solvent wetting methods, exhibiting that the AAO membranes with double-sized diameters can be used as the templates for generating double-sized polymer nanowires.Item type:Item, Curved block copolymer nanodiscs: structure transformations in cylindrical nanopores using the nonsolvent-assisted template wetting method(2019-11-07) ;Lin, Yu-Liang ;Cheng, Ming-Hsiang ;Chang, Chun-Wei ;Chu, Chien-WeiLiu, Chih-TingIn this work, we study the structure transformations of cylinder-forming polystyrene-block-polydimethylsiloxane (PS31k-b-PDMS14.5k) confined in cylindrical nanopores. PS-b-PDMS nanotubes, nanospheres, and curved nanodiscs are ingeniously prepared by a facile template wetting strategy using anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates. Quantitative analyses of the structure transformations from nanospheres to curved nanodiscs are also conducted, showing that the lengths of the curved nanodiscs can be controlled by adjusting the annealing temperature and time. Furthermore, the PDMS domains of the nanostructures can be selectively etched using HF solutions, generating porous PS nanostructures. This work not only offers versatile routes to prepare block copolymer nanostructures with controlled shapes but also provides a deeper understanding of the structure transformation of block copolymers in confined geometries.Item type:Item, Fabrication and Thermal Dissipation Properties of Carbon Nanofibers Derived from Electrospun Poly(Amic Acid) Carboxylate Salt Nanofibers(1970-01-01) ;Li, Jia-Wei ;Chiu, Yu-Jing ;Chang, Chia-Jui ;He, Hung-ChiehTu, Yi-HsuanPolyimides (PIs) possess excellent mechanical properties, thermal stability, and chemical resistance and can be converted to carbon materials by thermal carbonization. The preparation of carbon nanomaterials by carbonizing PI-based nanomaterials, however, has been less studied. In this work, the fabrication of PI nanofibers is investigated using electrospinning and their transformation to carbon nanofibers. Poly(amic acid) carboxylate salts (PAASs) solutions are first electrospun to form PAAS nanofibers. After the imidization and carbonization processes, PI and carbon nanofibers can then be obtained, respectively. The Raman spectra reveal that the carbon nanofibers are partially graphitized by the carbonization process. The diameters of the PI nanofibers are observed to be smaller than those of the PAAS nanofibers because of the formation of the more densely packed structures after the imidization processes; the diameters of the carbon nanofibers remain similar to those of the PI nanofibers after the carbonization process. The thermal dissipation behaviors of the PI and carbon nanofibers are also examined. The infrared images indicate that the transfer rates of thermal energy for the carbon nanofibers are higher than those for the PI nanofibers, due to the better thermal conductivity of carbon caused by the covalent sp(2) bonding between carbon atoms.Item type:Item, Intelligent Environmental Sensing: Fabrication of Switchable, Reusable, and Highly Sensitive Gas Sensors with Spiropyran-Grafted Anodic Aluminum Oxide Templates(2020-06-04) ;Lee, Lin-Ruei ;Karapala, Vamsi Krishna ;Lin, Yu-Liang ;He, Hung-ChiehChen, Jiun-TaiMonitoring undesired pH deviations in the surroundings is one of the most pervasive issues of environment and industry, and developing efficient, economical, portable, and reusable membranes for pH monitoring is urgently needed. Herein, we report novel smart nanomembranes (SNMs) that are made up of anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates grafted with spiropyran molecules. The ultraviolet and visible light responses of the SNMs under acid vapors are investigated. Under UV irradiation, the ring-closed spiropyran on the AAO templates transform to ring-opened merocyanine, which contains phenolate oxygen and can be further protonated by acids. Such a protonation process not only shows evident color changes but also endows SNMs with pH-responsive properties, which are further investigated by UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Furthermore, to demonstrate the pH-responsive properties of the SNM, common volatile acids such as hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, formic acid, and acetic acid are tested. The SNM shows conspicuous sensibility, reusability, and reversibility during the processes of irradiation, protonation, and deprotonation. Therefore, the newly developed SNM can be an excellent alternative to the existing pH sensors for the detection of pH variations in environment and industry.Item type:Item, Laser-Assisted Nanowetting: Selective Fabrication of Polymer/Gold Nanorod Arrays Using Anodic Aluminum Oxide Templates(1970-01-01) ;He, Hung-Chieh ;Yan, Ai-Ling ;Karapala, Vamsi Krishna ;Wang, Shun-FaShen, Ming-Hui1D polymer nanomaterials have attracted significant interest in recent years because of their unique properties and promising applications in various fields. It is, however, still a challenge to fabricate polymer nanoarrays with desired sizes and controlled morphologies. Here, an unprecedented approach, the laser-assisted nanowetting (LAN) method, to selectively fabricate polymer nanoarrays is presented. Polystyrene (PS) is blended with gold nanorods (AuNRs), which are used to absorb the energy from the laser. After the blend films are brought in contact with AAO templates, the AuNRs at regions shone by the laser beams absorb the energy and heat the surrounding polymer chains, resulting in the formation of PS/AuNRs arrays in selected areas. This work paves a new research direction for developing template-based polymer nanomaterials.Item type:Item, Porous Polyimide and Carbon Nanotubes: Solvent Vapor-Induced Transformation in the Nanochannels of Anodic Aluminum Oxide Templates(2019-04-01) ;He, Hung-Chieh ;Tu, Yi-Hsuan ;Li, Jia-Wei ;Lin, Yu-LiangChen, Jiun-TaiPolyimides (PIs) have attracted wide attention because of their exceptional thermal stability and applications in areas such as printed circuit boards and multichip modules. It remains a great challenge, however, to control the morphologies and properties of PI-based nanomaterials, especially porous PI-based nanotubes. In this work, a versatile method to fabricate porous PI nanotubes via the template method is developed, with a solvent vapor-induced transformation process. First, polyamic acid (PAA) solutions are used as precursors and infiltrated into the nanochannels of anodic aluminum oxide templates, forming PAA nanotubes. After the samples are annealed in tetrahydrofuran or dimethylformamide vapors, depression of the PAA tubes occurs, causing the formation of pores. The porous PAA nanotubes can be further converted to porous PI and carbon nanotubes by imidization and carbonization processes, respectively. The pore sizes of the porous nanomaterials can be controlled by changing the type of the annealing solvent and the solvent annealing time.Item type:Item, Reproducible and Bendable SERS Substrates with Tailored Wettability Using Block Copolymers and Anodic Aluminum Oxide Templates(1970-01-01) ;Lin, Yu-Liang ;Karapala, Vamsi Krishna ;Shen, Ming-Hui ;Chen, Yi-FanHe, Hung-ChiehSurface properties are essential for substrates exhibiting high sensitivity in surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) applications. In this work, novel SERS hybrid substrates using polystyrene-block-poly(methyl methacrylate) and anodic aluminum oxide templates is presented. The hybrid substrates not only possess hierarchical porous nanostructures but also exhibit superhydrophilic surface properties with the water contact angle approximate to 0 degrees. Such surfaces play an important role in providing uniform enhanced intensities over large areas (relative standard deviation approximate to 10%); moreover, these substrates are found to be highly sensitive (limit of detection approximate to 10(-12) m for rhodamine 6G (R6G)). The results show that the hybrid SERS substrates can achieve the simultaneous detection of multicomponent mixtures of different target molecules, such as R6G, crystal violet, and methylene blue. Furthermore, the bending experiments show that about 70% of the SERS intensities are maintained after bending from approximate to 30 degrees to 150 degrees.
