Item type:Item, A methodology to assess the supply chain performance based on gap-based measures(2017-08-01) ;Liu, Fuh-hwa Franklin ;Liu, Yu-cheng ;工業工程與管理學系Department of Industrial Engineering and ManagementThe motivation of this article lies in the application of two-stage gap-based measurement (GBM) in supply chain management. It adopts GBM model to construct a mixed integer program to measure the various stages of supply chain management in manufacturing practice. This paper proposes a new assessment system that aims to measure the aggregated efficiency of the entire supply chain. In this system, "plan source" and "plan make" are the major elements, they are a widely accepted industry standard by Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR). "Plan source" emphasizes the assessment of demand/supply planning strategy and suppliers' performance; "plan make" emphasizes the shop floor control, profitability and equipment effectiveness. The resulting GBM scores provide complete information on how to project inefficient DMUs on to the frontier. This article continues with a demonstration of GBM in the company cases, for the results of the assessment; this paper finds the worst efficiency of the DMUs and proposes improvement programs. Like most of DEA models, MBA model often identifies plural candidates to be efficient. Due to absence of weights and infeasibility, we are unable to create cross-efficiency and super-efficiency models of MEA for discriminating efficient candidates. The recent paper suggests a proper technique and proposes a worst-practice MBA model for discriminating efficient candidates. An empirical example is used for illustrative purposes.Item type:Item, Procedure to Solve Network DEA Based on a Virtual Gap Measurement Model(2017) ;Liu, Fuh-hwa Franklin ;Liu, Yu-cheng ;工業工程與管理學系Department of Industrial Engineering and ManagementNetworkDEAmodels assess production systems that contain a set of network-structured subsystems. Each subsystem has input and output measures from and to the external network and has intermediate measures that link to other subsystems. Most published studies demonstrate how to employ DEA models to establish network DEA models. Neither static nor dynamic network DEA models adjust the links. This paper applies the virtual gap measurement (VGM) model to construct a mixed integer program to solve dynamic network DEA problems. The mixed integer program sets the total numbers of "as-input"and "as-output"equal to the total number of links in the objective function. To obtain the best-practice efficiency, each DMU determines a set of weights for inputs, outputs, and links. The links are played either "as-input"or "as-output."Input and as-input measures reduce slack, whereas output and as-output measures increase slacks to attain their target on the production frontier.Item type:Item, Procedure to Solve Network DEA Based on a Virtual Gap Measurement Model(2017-01-01) ;Liu, Fuh-hwa Franklin ;Liu, Yu-cheng ;工業工程與管理學系Department of Industrial Engineering and ManagementNetworkDEAmodels assess production systems that contain a set of network-structured subsystems. The efficient DMUs obtained from the original DEA construct an efficient (best-practice) frontier. The original DEA can be considered to identify good (efficient) performers in the most favorable scenario. For the purpose of identifying bad performers such as bankrupt firms in the most unfavorable (worst-case) scenario., radial worst-practice frontier DEA (WPF-DEA) model in which the "worst efficient" DMUs construct a worst-practice frontier has been proposed. To identify bad performers together with the slack values we formulate another model called WPF-SBM. Then we develop the HypoSBM model to distinguish the worst performers from the bad ones. Finally, a solution approach is suggested to fully rank worst efficiencies in the worst-case scenario. (C) 2009 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
