Item type:Item, Dea approach for the current and the cross period efficiency for evaluating the vocational education(2004-06-01) ;Liu, LC ;Lee, C ;Tzeng, GH ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyThis study proposes an improved assessment system for vocational education, thus helping to increase technology college education efficiency. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was used to examine the relative managerial efficiency for evaluating current-period and cross-period efficiency of 38 technological institutes upgraded from junior colleges in Taiwan by 1998. In addition, the managerial efficiency variations of each individual institute in between 1995 and 1998 were also determined. The study results show that the operational category is significant among primary analysis variants, i.e. private schools perform significantly better than public schools in terms of managerial efficiency. However, geographical location is not significant. This study also verifies that integration of the results of both relative managerial efficiency analysis and managerial efficiency variation analysis could, be a powerful approach to help design managerial strategies that are both appropriate and effective. Some strategies to improve organization-wide operational competencies for site decision-makers axe recommended, and a new way of thinking to construct a more appropriate evaluation system for the educational authorities is introduced.Item type:Item, Electrostatic charge measurement and charge neutralization of fine aerosol particles during the generation process(2006-04-01) ;Tsai, CJ ;Lin, JS ;Deshpande, CG ;Liu, LC環境工程研究所An aerosol charge analyzer has been constructed to measure the charge distribution of NaCl particles generated in the laboratory. A radioactive electrostatic charge neutralizer utilizing Po-210 was used to neutralize the electrostatic charge of the particles. The atomization technique was used to generate NaCl particles with diameters of 0.2 to 0.8 mu m, while the evaporation and condensation method was adopted to generate particles of 0.01 to 0.2 mu m in diameter. The experimental data demonstrates that the absolute average particle charge depends on the particle diameter, and is higher than that calculated by the Boltzmann charge equilibrium for particles within the range of 0.2 to 0.8 mu m. The charge increases with decreasing NaCl concentration. When these particles are neutralized using the Po-210 neutralizer, it is found that the electrostatic charge reaches the Boltzmann charge equilibrium. For 0.01. to 0.2 mu m NaCl particles generated using the evaporation and condensation method, test results show that the absolute average particle charge is higher than that calculated by the Boltzmann charge equilibrium for particles larger than 0.03 to 0.05 mu m in diameter, while it is lower than that predicted by the Fuchs theory [1], for particles smaller than 0.03 to 0.05 mu m. However, after charge neutralization, particles with diameter above 0.05 mu m reach the Boltzmann charge equilibrium condition, and the charges for particles with diameters of 0.010 to 0.05 mu m, agree well with Fuchs' theory.Item type:Item, Measurement of hyperfine splitting of molecular iodine at 532 nm by double-passed acousto optic modulator frequency shifter(2006-04-01) ;Fang, HM ;Wang, SC ;Liu, LC ;Cheng, WYWu, KYThe hyperfine splitting of molecular iodine R(56) 32-0 transition at 532 nm is measured using a double-passed acousto optic modulator frequency shifting apparatus. Preliminary results, compared with the values recommended by the Consultative Committee for Length, show that the accuracy of our method is better than 20 kHz, which can be easily improved in the future.
