Item type:Item, Cytosolic sulfotransferases and environmental estrogenic chemicals(2005) ;Suiko, M ;Sakakibara, Y ;Liu, MY ;Yang, YSLiu, MCOver the past three decades, a substantial body of evidence has accumulated on the estrogenic activities of numerous environmental compounds. These "environmental estrogens," consisting of pesticides and a variety of industrial chemicals and their by-products, are becoming ubiquitous in the environment and are making their way into the food chain. An important issue is whether vertebrate animals are equipped with mechanisms for the inactivation and/or disposal of environmental estrogens. This review attempts to summarize the currently available data concerning the sulfation of environmental estrogenic compounds by the cytosolic sulfotransferases in vertebrate animals. In contrast to a conventional silicon-oxide-nitride-oxide (SONOS) cell with uniform Fowler-Nordheim (FN) programming, a significant high-V-T state read current increase, which results in the read window narrowing at high temperature, is observed in a channel hot electron (CHE) programmed cell. The increment of high-V-T state leakage current shows a positive correlation with program/erase threshold voltage window. Since the temperature effect is very sensitive to a locally trapped charge profile, a two-dimensional simulation with a step charge profile is employed to characterize the relationship between current increment and both charge width and charge density.Item type:Item, The influence of temperature on the drift of gyroscope(1995) ;Ge, ZM ;Liu, MY ;Lee, SC ;交大名義發表機械工程學系The dynamics, especially the drift, of a gyroscope with slowly varying axisymmetrical mass distribution are studied. By the data of temperature field of the inner gimbal, the changes of the position of center of mass and moments of inertia of the inner gimbal of gyro with time are obtained through the finite element method and approximate model study. The drift of a gyroscope can be analytically investigated according to the variation of the nutation angle and the precession angle. Since the temperature varies with time, the equations of motion are nonautonomous nonlinear differential equations. The analytical approximation is obtained by multiple scales method. The nutation angle and the precession angle in some given time intervals are calculated and are compared with the numerical results, obtained by using the MATLAB software package, with satisfactory consistency.
