Item type:Item, Dual-band loop antenna on soft contact lens for wireless ocular physiological monitoring(2014) ;Luo, C. H. ;Ting, Si Han ;Jeng, Bo Ming ;Chen, Wen ShanChiou, J. C.This paper presents a novel loop antenna operating dual bands for wireless ocular physiological monitoring (WOPM). The proposed antenna is fabricated on a thin-film poly-para-xylylene C (parylene C) substrate with a small thickness of 11 um. The overall dimension of the proposed antenna is suitable to apply in the soft contact lens and to transmit the signal in Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS). To verify the performances of the antenna, measuring pigs\' eyes with instrument, the parameters are similar to human\'s eyes. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed antenna can operate dual bandwidths that cover ISM bands at 2.4 and 5.8 GHz. The simulated radiation patterns at the central frequency of the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz bands show an excellent directional characteristic with gains of -15.3 dBi at 2.45 GHz and -20 dBi at 5.8 GHz.Item type:Item, The Rectenna Design on Contact Lens for Wireless Powering of the Active Intraocular Pressure Monitoring System(2013) ;Cheng, H. W. ;Jeng, B. M. ;Chen, C. Y. ;Huang, H. Y.Chiou, J. C.This paper proposed a wireless power harvesting system with micro-electro-mechanical-systems (MEMS) fabrication for noninvasive intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement on soft contact lens substructure. The power harvesting IC consists of a loop antenna, an impedance matching network and a rectifier. The proposed IC has been designed and fabricated by CMOS 0.18um process that operates at the ISM band of 5.8 GHz. The antenna and the power harvesting IC would be bonded together by using flip chip bonding technologies without extra wire interference. The circuit utilized an impedance transformation circuit to boost the input RF signal that improves the circuit performance. The proposed design achieves an RF-to-DC conversion efficiency of 35% at 5.8 GHz.
