But most of existing testing service can\'t provide multi-type testing and deploy testing clients concurrently in different regions. To overcome these problems, in this paper, a cloud testing service combine cloud computing and multi-testing tools is proposed. Using the proposed service user can deploy the testing clients in different countries to access the testing targets, when the testing is finish user can easily get both of detail and summarized test results. To show the capabilities of proposed service, an experiment is performed. The results shows that the proposed service can guarantee testing quality, automatically deploy testing clients concurrently in different region, get latency from different countries, and perform press testing.Item type:Item, A P2P Auto-Recover Method for the Factory Data of Cable Modem over the HFC Network(2012) ;Chen, Yu-Liang ;Luo, Guo-Heng ;Chang, Yi-Ming ;Yuan, Shyan-Ming資訊工程學系With the popularization of the Data-OverCable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS) product, many devices have been installed in client sides. The issue of how to maintain the quality while providing quick repair becomes more and more important. In some practical circumstances, the cable modem may lose the factory data which include the calibration table and the digital certificates. These data are unique and vital for the regular operations of cable modem. The traditional way of handling the malfunction product is to ship back the product to the maintenance branch and replaces a working device for the customer. In this paper we will present a solution which is based on network coding over peer to peer (P2P) network to fix the problem automatically online, named Cable modem Auto-Recovery (CAROL).Item type:Item, A parallel Bees Algorithm implementation on GPU(2014-03-01) ;Luo, Guo-Heng ;Huang, Sheng-Kai ;Chang, Yue-Shan ;Yuan, Shyan-Ming資訊科學與工程研究所Bees Algorithm is a population-based method that is a computational bound algorithm whose inspired by the natural behavior of honey bees to finds a near-optimal solution for the search problem. Recently, many parallel swarm based algorithms have been developed for running on GPU (Graphic Processing Unit). Since nowadays developing a parallel Bee Algorithm running on the GPU becomes very important. In this paper, we extend the Bees Algorithm (CUBA (i.e. CUDA based Bees Algorithm)) in order to be run on the CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture). CUBA (CUDA based Bees Algorithm). We evaluate the performance of CUBA by conducting some experiments based on numerous famous optimization problems. Results show that CUBA significantly outperforms standard Bees Algorithm in numerous different optimization problems. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. SaaS providers can save substantially on costs by using resource-management techniques such as auto scaling. However, in most current auto-scaling methods, server-side system information is used for adjusting the amount of resources, which does not allow the overall service performance to be evaluated. In this paper, a novel auto-scaling mechanism is proposed for ensuring the stability of service performance from the client-side of view. In the proposed mechanism, turnaround time monitors are deployed as clients outside the service, and the information collected is used for driving a dynamic auto-scaling operation. A system is also designed to support the proposed auto scaling mechanism. The results of experiments show that using this mechanism, stable service quality can be ensured and, moreover, that a certain amount of quality variation can be handled in order to allow the stability of the service performance to be increased.Item type:Item, Automatic Test Environment Deployment and Service Testing Model in the Cloud(2016-05) ;Lo, Win-Tsung ;Sheu, Ruey-Kai ;Yuan, Shyan-Ming ;Luo, Guo-Heng資訊工程學系Cloud testing has become a crucial concern due to the explosion of cloud services and requirements of reliable and high-quality service. The technologies of virtualization and infrastructures of cloud services have enabled service providers to deploy their services conveniently. However, current test models decrease the flexibility of test scenarios and test client customization. For solving these problems, this study proposes a testing service in the cloud to help the testing environment generation, deployment and execution of test scenarios. The tester can customize test scenarios involving clients, network topologies, and test scripts. In the paper, a demonstration test toolkit was implemented, and also used for testing distributed file system with various numbers of hosts, threads, and virtual network topologies.Item type:Item, Automatic Test Environment Deployment and Service Testing Model in the Cloud(2016-05-01) ;Lo, Win-Tsung ;Sheu, Ruey-Kai ;Yuan, Shyan-Ming ;Luo, Guo-Heng資訊工程學系Cloud testing has become a crucial concern due to the explosion of cloud services and requirements of reliable and high-quality service. In particular, recently numerous studies have focused on determining the relationship between server side system information and performance experience for reducing resource wastage. However, the genuine experiences of clients cannot be readily understood only by using the collected server-side information. In this paper, a cloud resource management framework with two novel turnaround time driven auto-scaling mechanisms is proposed for ensuring the stability of service performance. In the first mechanism, turnaround time monitors are deployed in the client-side instead of the more traditional server-side, and the information collected outside the server is used for driving a dynamic auto-scaling operation. In the second mechanism, a schedule-based auto scaling preconfiguration maker is designed to test and identify the amount of resources required in the cloud. The reported experimental results demonstrate that using our original framework for cloud resource management, stable service quality can be ensured and, moreover, a certain amount of quality variation can be handled in order to allow the stability of the service performance to be increased.Item type:Item, Constructing Private Cloud Storage Using Network Attatched Storage(2012-01-01) ;Hsu, Wen-Feng ;Luo, Guo-Heng ;Yuan, Shyan-Ming ;Tsai, Ching-Tsorng資訊工程學系Human has entered the "cloud age" today; many resources can be put into cloud for further using and exploit. However, putting confidential data or private data to the public cloud has the security issue. Moreover, the construction cost of typical cloud storage is too high and need a lot of management effort of hardware, which is not affordable by person, SOHO and small companies. They need low cost but robust solution to build their private cloud. Thus, in this paper, a low cost, flexible, and recoverable private cloud storage system using NAS is proposed. Two core techniques named "migration" and "cell recovery" for enhancing the flexibility and recoverability are introduced and evaluated. The results show that the system is practicable.Item type:Item, Design and Implementation of a Simulation-Based Learning System for International Trade(2014) ;Luo, Guo-Heng ;Liu, Eric Zhi-Feng ;Kuo, Hung-Wei ;Yuan, Shyan-Ming交大名義發表In the traditional instructional method used in international trade, teachers provide knowledge to learners by lecturing using slides and setting assignments; however, these methods merely deliver international trade knowledge rather than facilitating student development of relevant skills. To solve these problems, we proposed a simulation-based learning system for international trade, combining international trade-process simulation and business letter writing. We investigated learner opinions toward the system and the quality of business letters by using quantitative and qualitative analyses. Regarding the results, learners perceived that the proposed system improved their knowledge of international trade and business English.Item type:Item, File Deduplication with Cloud Storage File System(2013-01-01) ;Ku, Chan-I ;Luo, Guo-Heng ;Chang, Che-Pin ;Yuan, Shyan-Ming資訊工程學系The Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) is used to solve the storage problem of huge data, but does not provide a handling mechanism of duplicate files. In this study, the middle layer file system in the HBASE virtual architecture is used to do File Deduplicate in HDFS, with two architectures proposed according to different requires of the applied requirement reliability, therein one is RFD-HDFS (Reliable File Deduplicated HDFS) which is not permitted to have any errors and the other is FD-HDFS (File Deduplicated HDFS) which can tolerate very few errors. In addition to the advantage of the space complexity, the marginal benefits from it are explored. Assuming a popular video is uploaded to HDFS by one million users, through the Hadoop replication, they are divided into three million files to store, that is a practice wasting disk space very much and only by the cloud to remove repeats for effectively loading. By that, only three file spaces are taken up, namely the 100% utility of removing duplicate files reaches. The experimental architecture is a cloud based documentation system, like the version of EndNote Cloud, to simulate the cluster effect of massive database when the researcher synchronized the data with cloud storage.Item type:Item, SSTreasury plus : A Secure and Elastic Cloud Data Encryption System(2012-01-01) ;Huang, Kuan-Ying ;Luo, Guo-Heng ;Yuan, Shyan-Ming ;資訊工程學系網路工程研究所"Cloud computing" has been popular in recent years, more and more service provider proposed cloud services especially cloud storage service. However, one of the worrying problems is data security. In this paper, we proposed a whole service named SSTreasury+ which includes encryption application and cloud storage service. The user's data before uploading to the cloud could be encrypted first to prevent the data to be stolen during transmission or in the cloud storage. In addition, the decryption key which generated by our system can be portable to increase flexibility and convenience. In the back-end storages we use existing cloud storage as a backup storage in order to reduce constructing costs. We expected by the above methods to achieve a safe and flexible cloud storage service.Item type:Item, Supporting Online Reading of Science Expository with iRuns annotation strategy(2014-01-01) ;Lin, Sunny S. J. ;Chen, H. Y. ;Chiang, Yu-Tzu ;Luo, Guo-HengYuan, Shyan-MingThe purposes of this study were two folds. First was to design three strategies to help elementary school children reading science expositories online with the supports of an annotation system. The "iRuns" strategies were proposed based on the SOI model of Reading expository text [1] to include (1)"underline" for selecting main ideas, (2)"annotation for connection" to organize important ideas and (3) "summary" for integrating multiple concepts. Then a field study was conducted to explore whether students efficiently adopted iRuns strategies and achieved comprehension on earth science materials. A total of 55 5th and 6th graders from an elementary school participated a 8-week reading club. A plug-in annotation system (COM2ANNO) developed by Huang et al. [2] was adopdeted. Students\' underlying, annotation and summary efficiencies were rated more favorable if they hit more main ideas. The results showed that iRuns strategy efficiencies decreased slightly across multiple time points and the high reading ability students\' three annotation efficiencies were always better than the low ones. The gaps of iRun strategy efficiencies between high and low reading ability groups was gradually getting closer through series of instruction. Low ability students\' strategy efficiencies correlated with comprehension score significantly but the high ones didn\'t. It indicated that low reading ability students benefited greatly from the iRuns strategies instruction. The annotation efficiecy was affected by using different types of annotating method (type vs. copy-paste). Typing resulted in shorter annotations while copy-pasting produced better quality of annotation which demonstrated more highly relevant main ideas selected across texts.
