Item type:Item, Low-Complexity Beam Selection for Hybrid Precoded Multi-User mmWave Communications(2018-01-01) ;Chen, Kuo-Ming ;Pan, Yun-Han ;Lee, Ta-Sung ;交大名義發表電信工程研究所Communications using the millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum are a mainstream technology of the next generation systems. However, the mmWave band will experience much more propagation loss than a low frequency band. Therefore, a mmWave system will adopt beamforming techniques to compensate the high propagation. Moreover, hybrid beamforming which combines analog precoder and digital beamforming is a potential candidate for multi-input multi-output (MEMO) systems with massive scale for mmWave hand because of its low hardware complexity. In this paper, we propose a novel beam selection method that ensures the service quality of user equipment (LIE) and mitigates any interference between equipments to provide near performance upper bound and the method overcomes the high costs and complexity of mmWave systems. We evaluate the advantage of the proposed method via sum-rate and complexity computations. Simulation results show that the proposed method can offer significant reductions for massive-scale MIMO mmWave systems. In general, we show that the proposed method achieves a high quality solution, which is almost the same as the performance upper hound.Item type:Item, Low-Complexity High-Resolution Parameter Estimation for Automotive MIMO Radars(2020-01-01) ;Lin, Yu-Chien ;Lee, Ta-Sung ;Pan, Yun-Han ;Lin, Kuan-Hen交大名義發表In this paper, we propose a parameter estimation method for multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) automotive radars that consists of two stages. The first stage is a low-complexity three-dimensional (3D) constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detection technique that exploits spatial filtering to extend radar coverage, and it performs low-complexity peak detection. The second stage is an ESPRIT-based direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation technique that adopts time & x2013;frequency resource division to generate high-quality snapshots and it performs DOA estimation of targets without the knowledge of the target number. Computer simulations reveal that the proposed method achieves the performance of the two-dimensional ordered statistic CFAR (2D OS-CFAR) while having much lower computational complexity, and it offers the higher resolution DOA estimation compared to the conventional MIMO radars.Item type:Item, Non-Cooperative Interference Avoidance in Automotive OFDM Radars(2019-01-01) ;Lin, Yu-Chien ;Chung, Wei-Ho ;Lee, Ta-Sung ;Pan, Yun-Han交大名義發表The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) emphasizes that radars have become a critical technology. With the consideration of application scenarios and cost, increasing importance has been attributed to millimeter Wave (mmWave) radars. Because of the unique features of simultaneous detection and communication, Orthogonal Frequency-Division Modulation (OFDM) radars have been discussed frequently in the literature. In this paper, under the architecture of an OFDM radar, we propose a novel protocol which divides different radar users (i.e., different vehicles) into different logical channels by time and frequency. Following the rules of the protocol, a non-cooperative interference avoidance logical channel selection method is also proposed to choose a logical channel with the least inter-carrier interferences (ICIs). Simulation results show that the proposed logical channel selection method can choose a nearly optimal channel in a short time with a high probability.
