Item type:Item, Designing a dynamic e-learning project performance evaluation framework(2007) ;Chiu, Hsiao-Ya ;Sheng, Chieh-Chung ;Chen, An-Pin ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceA proper e-learning environment is one of the most important knowledge management tools in today\'s organizations. However, many of them lack a universal evaluation process to verify their e-learning project\'s performance. In an attempt to solve this problem, this study bases on Kirkpatrick\'s model and combines the balanced scorecard and the option pricing approach to provide an easy to use, easy to understand and easy to analysis firamework for e-learning project\'s performance evaluations.Item type:Item, Modeling agent-based performance evaluation for e-learning systems(2008) ;Chiu, Hsiao-Ya ;Sheng, Chieh-Chung ;Chen, An-Pin ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinancePurpose - The purpose of this paper is to show how rapidly evolving information technology has dramatically changed the knowledge dissemination process. However, many of them lack a generic evaluation process to verify the system's performance. In an attempt to solve this problem, this study seeks to propose an agent-based model to provide a dynamic, flexible framework for performance evaluations of e-learning projects. Design/methodology/approach - The paper proposes an agent-based model which comprises a learning model, balanced scorecard and option-pricing approach to evaluate the performance of an e-learning project. Findings - E-learning could be the paradigm shift of traditional education. Thus, the paper provides organizations with a methodology to deliberately evaluate their e-learning projects by treating it as a continuous improvement process. Originality/value - The original contributions in this paper are: application of a balance scorecard to weigh different perspectives; application of a real options approach for risk management of e-learning projects; construction of an agent-based system for autonomous qualitative/quantitative information gathering.Item type:Item, Optimally pricing European options with real distributions(2007) ;Sheng, Chieh-Chung ;Chin, Hsiao-Ya ;Chen, An-Pin ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceMost option pricing methods use mathematical distributions to approximate underlying asset, behavior. However, it is difficult to approximate the real distribution using pure mathematical distribution approaches. This study first introduces an innovative computational method of pricing European options based on the real distributions of the underlying asset. This computational approach can also be applied to expected value related applications that require real distributions rather than mathematical distributions. The contributions of this study include the following: a) it solves the risk neutral issue related to price options with real distributions, b) it proposes a simple method adjusting the standard deviation according to the practical need to apply short term volatility to real world applications and c) it demonstrates that modern databases are capable of handling large amounts of sample data to provide efficient execution speeds.Item type:Item, Using computational methodology to price European options with actual payoff distributions(2007-10-01) ;Sheng, Chieh-Chung ;Chin, Hsiao-Ya ;Chen, An-Pin ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceMost option pricing methods use mathematical distributions to approximate underlying asset behavior. However, pure mathematical distribution approaches have difficulty approximating the real distribution. This study first introduces an innovative computational method for pricing European options based on the real payoff distribution of the underlying asset. This computational approach can also be applied to applications related to expected value that require real distributions rather than mathematical distributions. This study makes the following contributions: (a) solving the risk neutral issue related to price options with real payoff distributions; (b) proposing a simple method for adjusting standard deviation based on the need to apply short term volatility to real world applications; (c) demonstrating an option pricing algorithm that is easy to apply to cross field applications.
