Item type:Item, A magazine assignment heuristic for robotic assembly using the dynamic pick-and-place approach(1997-03-01) ;Wang, C ;Ho, LH ;Fu, HI ;Su, YC工業工程與管理學系Robotic assembly cells consist principally of an assembly table: a supply magazine, and a Cartesian robot where the robot picks up assigned components from the magazine and places them in prearranged locations on the assembly table. The major concern in industry is to optimize robot traveling time so that a shorter assembly cycle time can be achieved. Three factors directly affecting assembly efficiency are: (1) robot motion control, (2) the sequence for placing the individual component on the assembly board, and (3) the corresponding magazine slot location from which the components must be selected. This paper proposes a magazine assignment heuristic coupled with dynamic pick-and-place (DPP) robot motion control to improve assembly efficiency. Simulation results indicate that our magazine assignment heuristic, with DPP robot motion control, always surpasses the same magazine assignment heuristic applied to the traditional fixed pick-and-place (FPP) robot motion control.Item type:Item, A magazine assignment heuristic for robotic assembly using the dynamic pick-and-place approach(1997-03-01) ;Wang, C ;Ho, LH ;Fu, HI ;Su, YC工業工程與管理學系Robotic assembly cells consist principally of an assembly table: a supply magazine, and a Cartesian robot where the robot picks up assigned components from the magazine and places them in prearranged locations on the assembly table. The characterization is performed on a Schottky barrier (SB) TFT with electrical source/drain extensions induced by a field-plate. Only one single device and two simple subthreshold I-V measurements at room temperature are needed for full band-gap DOS extraction. Impacts of different process treatments are clearly resolved using this methodology.Item type:Item, Comprehensive investigation on fluorosilicate glass prepared by temperature-difference-based liquid-phase deposition(2000-01-01) ;Yeh, CF ;Lee, YC ;Wu, KH ;Su, YCLee, SCThis study investigates the properties of fluorosilicate glass film prepared by temperature-difference-based liquid-phase deposition. Experimental results indicate that the deposition temperature can significantly affect the deposition rate and film properties. As the deposition temperature increases from 15 to 35 degrees C, the deposition rate increases exponentially from 30 to 687 Angstrom/h. Meanwhile, the F and OH contents increase from 2.56 to 3.49% and from 0.16 to 0.5%, respectively. The dielectric constants;ind stresses for the films deposited at 15, 25, and 35 degrees C, are 3.56/63 MPa, 3.46/43 MPa, and 3.66/73 MPa, respectively. The current densities at 2 MV/cm for the films deposited at 15, 25, and 35 degrees C are 6.9 x 10(-9), 4.6 x 10(-9), and 3.6 x 10(-7) A/cm(2), respectively. For the film deposited at 25 degrees C. the dielectric constant and the stress are minimal because of the high F content, low OH content, and low bond strain. The properties are also compared with those of fluorosilicate glass prepared by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition. In addition to exhibiting a lower dielectric constant and much better resistance to moisture, the film prepared by temperature-difference-based liquid-phase deposition also shows a comparable or better insulating property, revealing a reliable intermetal dielectric with a low dielectric constant. The nanocomposites were exfoliated at up to a 3 wt% content of pristine clay relative to the amount of polystyrene (PS). We used two different surfactants for the montmorillonite: the aminopropylisobutyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) and the ammonium salt of cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC). Both surfactants can intercalate into the layers of the pristine clay dispersed in water prior to polymerization. Although the d spacing of the POSS-intercalated clay is relatively smaller than that of the CPC-intercalated clay, PS more easily intercalates and exfoliates the POSS-treated clay than the CPC-treated clay. IR spectroscopic analysis further confirms the intercalation of POSS within the clay layers. We used X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to characterize the structures of the nanocomposites. The nanocomposite prepared from the clay treated with the POSS containing surfactant is exfoliated, while an intercalated clay was obtained from the CPC-treated surfactant. The molecular weights of polystyrene (PS) obtained from the nanocomposite is slightly lower than the virgin PS formed under similar polymerization conditions. The value of T, of the PS component in the nanocomposite is 8 degreesC higher than the virgin PS and its thermal decomposition temperature (21 degreesC) is also higher significantly. The presence of the POSS unit in the MMT enhances the thermal stability of the polystyrene. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. METHODS: Twenty primers were applied for setting up the RAPD (randomly amplified polymorphic DNA) markers of Atractylodes plants, Atractylodes lancea DC (A lancea MG:), Atractylodes japonica Koidz (A japonica K), and Atractylodes ovata DC (A ovata DC). The primer OPF03, OPF05, and OPF14 could discriminate them successfully. The results were also able to apply on the Chinese formulations with Atractylodes purchased from local markets. RESULTS: RAPD was used to investigate phylogenetic relationships among and within closely related species. RAPD analysis reflects heritable changes in the nucleotides sequence in both the coding and noncoding regions, because it is conducted directly from the DNA level. This work first conducted RAPD analysis of Atractylodes plants to establish their RAPD makers. CONCLUSION: The RAPD markers could be applied extensively in the Chinese herbal formulations.Item type:Item, Investigation of the thermal properties of novel adamantane-modified polybenzoxazine(2004-11-05) ;Su, YC ;Chen, WC ;Chang, FC ;應用化學系Department of Applied ChemistryTwo novel structures of adamantane-modified benzoxazines were synthesized from 4-(1-adamantyl)-phenol through the incorporation of adamantane as a pendant group into the polybenzoxazine backbone. Both H-1-NMR and Fourier transform infrared spectra were used to characterize these structures. The rigid structure of the adamantane tended to hinder the chain mobility (boat anchor effect) and substantially enhanced the thermal properties, including the glass-transition temperature and decomposition temperature, especially for poly(6-adamantyl-3-methyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,3-benzoxazine). In the poly(6-adamantyl-3-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,3-benzoxazine) system, however, the opposite result for the glass-transition temperature was observed and it was interpreted as lower crosslinking density. The phenyl group was bulkier than the methyl group, and the movement of the molecular chain was hindered between bridging points during the curing process; this resulted in a lower crosslinking density and a lower glass-transition temperature than those of poly(6-adamantyl-3-methyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,3-benzoxazine). However, MSQ film can he easily degraded during resist ashing after the film is etched with the damascene trenches being created. In this work, a novel sidewall capping technology is developed to solve the degradation issue. Prior to resist ashing, a high-quality, low-permittivity oxide him is selectively deposited onto the sidewalls of MSQ trenches using selective liquid-phase deposition. Experimental results demonstrate that the capping oxide can effectively protect the sidewalls of MSQ trenches from ashing-induced degradation.Item type:Item, O-2-plasma degradation of low-k organic dielectric and its effective solution for damascene trenches(2000) ;Yeh, CF ;Lee, YC ;Su, YC ;Wu, KHLin, CHMethylsilsesquioxane, an organic spin-on dielectric, has attracted much attention as a promising low-k inter-Cu-metal dielectric because of its sufficiently low dielectric constant (<2.8) and excellent thermal stability (>500 degreesC). However, we found that MSQ film would be easily degraded during resist ashing in O-2-plasma ambient after the film is etched with the damascene trenches being created. An innovative sidewall capping technology as an effective solution of this ashing-induced degradation has been successfully developed. This new technology has potential to fulfill the highly reliable damascene process toward Cu/MSQ integration.Item type:Item, Preparation and characterization of poly seudorotaxanes based on adamantane-modified polybenzoxazines and beta-cyclodextrin(2005-02-14) ;Su, YC ;Chen, WC ;Chang, FC ;應用化學系Department of Applied ChemistryP-Cyclodextrin (P-CD) forms inclusion complexes (ICs) with adamantane-modified benzoxazines (2 benzoxazine and 3 benzoxazine). These benzoxazines can readily penetrate into the CD's hydrophobic cavity, causing turbidity of their solutions, from which fine crystalline powders are obtained. We characterized these complexes by powder X-ray diffraction, C-13 and C-13 CP/MAS NMR spectroscopies, DSC, and TGA. The X-ray diffraction and solid-state C-13 CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy indicate that the IC domains of the polypseudorotaxanes maintain their channel-type structures after the ring-opening curing reactions have occurred. Furthermore, DSC measurements indicate that complexing the adamantane-modified benzoxazine units with beta-CDs result in stiffer main chains and, thus, higher glass transition temperature. TGA also indicates that the inclusion complexes have enhanced its thermal stability. Analysis of infrared spectra suggests that the random copolymer possesses a higher fraction of hydrogen-bonded carbonyl groups and a larger interassociation equilibrium constant relative to those of a block copolymer containing similar vinylphenol content because of the different sequence distribution that may arise from the so-called intramolecular screening effect. In contrast, the glass transition temperature of the block copolymer, which has the lower polydispersity index, is higher than that of the random copolymer at the same composition.Item type:Item, Study of the morphologies and dielectric constants of nanoporous materials derived from benzoxazine-terminated poly(epsilon-caprolactone)/polybenzoxazine co-polymers(2005-05-11) ;Su, YC ;Chen, WC ;Ou, KL ;Chang, FC應用化學系We have generated porous polybenzoxazine (PBZZ) materials by using a B-a type PBZZ as the matrix and various molecular weights of poly(ε-caprolactone) (pa-PCL) as the labile constituent. The slight degree of hydrogen bonding that exists between the two polymers results in micro-phase separation without an excess degree of aggregation occurring. The porous structures form after hydrolysis of the PCL domains; we characterized them using a variety of techniques, including FT-IR spectroscopy, DSC, TGA, FE-SEM, and DEA. At 298 K and 10(5) Hz, we obtained a thin, transparent, and nanoporous film that has a very low dielectric constant (1.95). © 2005 Elsevier Ltd. The benzoxazine-containing POSS (BZ-POSS) monomer can be copolymerized with other benzoxazine monomers through ring-opening polymerization under conditions similar to that used for polymerizing pure benzoxazines. Thermal properties of these POSS-containing organic/inorganic polybenzoxazine nanocomposites have been improved over the pure polybenzoxazine analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The BZ-POSS monomer is poorly miscible with the benzoxazine monomer and tends to aggregate and forms its own domains, both before and after polymerization. At a higher BZ-POSS content, gross aggregation occurs and results in a lower than expected improvement in the thermal properties. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. In this study, a novel structure of the fluorinated benzoxazine (F-I benzoxazine) has been synthesized by incorporating the trifluoromethyl groups into the monomer, and its structure has also been characterized by H-1 NMR, F-19 NMR and FT-IR. Further, we have prepared the fluorinated copolybenzoxazine (B-a/F- = 1/1) with substantially reduced dielectric constant at K = 2.36. In addition, this fluorinated copolybenzoxazine possesses high glass transition temperature and high thermal stability, which is suitable for high temperature operation for certain special processes of interlayer dielectrics. (C) 2003 Published by Elsevier Ltd.Item type:Item, The kinetics of B-a and P-a type copolybenzoxazine via the ring opening process(2005-02-05) ;Su, YC ;Yei, DR ;Chang, FC ;應用化學系Department of Applied ChemistryThe structure of benzoxazines is similar to that of phenolic resin through thermal self-curing of the heterocyclic ring opening reaction that neither requires catalyst nor releases any condensation byproduct. These polybenzoxazine resins have several outstanding properties such as high thermal stability and high glass transition temperature. To better understand the curing kinetics of this copolybenzoxazine thermosetting resin, dynamic and isothermal differential scanning calorimetry measurements were performed. Three models, the Kissinger method, the Flynn-Wall-Osawa method, and the Kamal method, were used to describe the curing process. Dynamic kinetic activation energies based on Kissinger and Flynn-Wall-Osawa methods are 72.11 and 84.06 KJ/mol, respectively. The Kamal method based on an autocatalytic model results in a total order of reaction between 2.66 and 3.03, depending on curing temperature. Its activation energy and Arrhenius preexponential are 50.3 KJ/mol and 7959, respectively. The DSC result shows a single T-g over the entire compositions and a large positive deviation based on Kwei equation was observed in the T-g versus composition diagram, implying that strong hydrogen bonding interaction exists between PBZZ and PVP segments. The strength of hydrogen bonding interaction is in the order of inter-association between the hydroxyl group of PBZZ and the carbonyl group of PVP (K-A = 594 L mol(-1)) > self-association between the hydroxyl group of pure PBZZ (K-B = 72.6 L mol(-1)) > inter-association between the hydroxyl and the Mannich-based bridge of pure PBZZ (K-C < 10 L mol(-1)). Good correlation between DSC and FIFIR analysis were observed. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
