Item type:Item, An empirical study on the effects of an enterprise fan page(2018-01-01) ;Shang, Shari S. C. ;Hsu, Wei-Yen ;Tseng, Hsiao-Ting ;Jiang, Jen JenChiang, Chieh-JenMost major enterprises have invested in social networking to provide services, promote products, or communicate with customers. However, to date, no clear understanding on the effects of social networks on business performance has emerged. This study examines the relationship between the capability of the enterprise to manage social networks and the resultant benefits of their investing in the social network. A fan page on Facebook is the selected target of study. By analyzing the effort required to manage a fan page, we measured the fan-page managing capability by its number of fans. Then, we proposed six hypotheses for empirical examination of the causal relationship between enterprises' social network managing capability and business benefits. The study applied two-stage data collection and testing. The first stage is to build a general understanding of the relationship between the number of fans and business revenue. Based on findings of the first stage, the study tested the hypotheses on selected global firms and sought patterns of benefits generated from the fan page. This study builds deep understanding from various aspects about fan-page effects on enterprises, and proposes that firms that provide products and services with characteristics of low-product price, short-product durability, and low-customer involvement are empirically influenced by the management of their fan pages.Item type:Item, Do Patients' Privacy Concerns Influence Their Intention toward Medical Image Exchange Consent in Taiwan?(2020-03-01) ;Tseng, Hsiao-Ting ;Hung, Won-Fu ;Hwang, Hsin-Ginn ;Chang, I-Chiu資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所The primary purpose of this study was to examine patients' concerns surrounding information privacy and their intention toward medical image exchange consent. Patients' concerns about information privacy in terms of collection, unauthorized access, errors and secondary use all have significant relationships with patients' intention toward medical image exchange consent in Taiwan. Trust is the foundation for both parties. In this study, we aimed to determine the moderating effect of trust in order to examine patients' intention toward medical image exchange consent under the influence of their information privacy concerns. Three hundred and fifty patients responded to the survey, which yielded a 92.3% response rate. The results of data analysis revealed that patients' information privacy concerns had no significant relationship with patients' intention toward medical image exchange consent. After considering the moderating effect of trust, patients' information privacy concerns do have a significant relationship with patients' intention toward medical image exchange consent, however, the R-square was only 4.5%. Based on this research result, we modified the research framework in order to examine patients' information privacy concerns in terms of collection/non-collection. The R-square of the modified framework was 18.6%, and both collection and non-collection had significant relationships with patients' intention toward medical image exchange consent. Finally, the implications, limitations and future research have been discussed.Item type:Item, Evaluating the impact of soy compounds on breast cancer using the data mining approach(2020-05-01) ;Chen, Sheng-, I ;Tseng, Hsiao-Ting ;Hsieh, Chia-Chien ;工業工程與管理學系Department of Industrial Engineering and ManagementAccumulating evidence has shown that soy intake is associated with the promotion of health and prevention of cancers. However, the relationship between the intake of soy compounds and the risk of breast cancer is still debatable. In this study, we use mathematical models for assessing the impact of soy phytoestrogens and protein/peptide intervention on breast cancer development using the datasets acquired from a large number of published studies. We used data mining models, including the decision tree classification and association rule methods, to analyze 478 data collected from 201 research papers. The results indicated that the intervention of soy proteins and peptides, especially lunasin (LUN) and bowman-birk protease inhibitor (BBI), has a positive impact on different types of breast cancer, while the effects of soy phytoestrogens are inconsistent in breast cancer development. Among soy phytoestrogens, daidzein (DAI) exhibited the highest negative impact on breast cancer, followed by coumestrol (COU), soysapogenol (SAP), genistein (GEN), and equol (EQ). With regard to the type of cancer, phytoestrogens should be carefully considered in estrogen receptor (ER)+ or progesterone receptor (PR)+ breast cancer. In the case of ER-, PR- or triple negative type, both soy categories can be used as auxiliary interventions. In summary, this is the first study to use data mining to explore the relationship between the intake of soy phytoestrogens or proteins/peptides and breast cancer development. Our findings indicate that soy intervention might reduce breast cancer development. However, the specific soy compound and cancer type should be considered before allocating a precise nutrient intervention.Item type:Item, Factors influencing Chinese tourists\' intentions to use the Taiwan Medical Travel App(2016-05-01) ;Chang, I-Chiu ;Chou, Pei-Chin ;Yeh, Ralph Keng-Jung ;Tseng, Hsiao-Ting資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Global economic progress has resulted in the rapid development of transportation, finance, and tourism. Consequently, medical tourism has emerged as a new and booming market. Hospitals in Taiwan have excellent medical quality and highly-ranked information technology. The geographical, cultural, and linguistic proximity between Taiwan and Mainland China further enhances the appeal of medical tourism in Taiwan as an option for patients from China. Thus, the Taiwanese government has actively modified and improved various aspects of its tourism infrastructure, such as visa regulations, marketing policies, and technologies, to attract medical tourists. One important technology marketing method in its arsenal is the Taiwan Medical Travel App (TMT App), which can be downloaded to mobile devices. The TMT App focuses on promoting Taiwan\'s medical tourism. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of the TMT App and the usage intention of Chinese patients have not been evaluated. This study proposes a research model based on a literature review to explore the factors that influence Chinese patients\' intention to use the TMT App. The research model is then validated using questionnaires and statistical analyses. The results can be used as a reference to enhance customers\' intention to use the TMT App and to improve this and other similar Apps. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. The Taiwanese government has used various Internet of Things (IoT) applications in the 10-year long-term care program 2.0. It is expected that the efficiency and effectiveness of long-term care services will be improved through IoT support. Home-delivered meal services for the elderly are important for home-based long-term care services. To ensure that the right meals are delivered to the right recipient at the right time, the runners need to take a picture of the meal recipient when the meal is delivered. This study uses the IoT-based image recognition system to design an integrated service to improve the management of image recognition. The core technology of this IoT-based image recognition system is statistical histogram-based k-means clustering for image segmentation. However, this method is time-consuming. Therefore, we proposed using the statistical histogram to obtain a probability density function of pixels of a figure and segmenting these with weighting for the same intensity. This aims to increase the computational performance and achieve the same results as k-means clustering. We combined histogram and k-means clustering in order to overcome the high computational cost for k-means clustering. The results indicate that the proposed method is significantly faster than k-means clustering by more than 10 times.Item type:Item, Metaphor and simplification strategies in the design of tourist guidebooks(2017-01-01) ;Tsai, Chih-Yung ;Lo, Chieh-Ling ;Tseng, Hsiao-Ting ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceTourist guidebooks play an important role in providing supplementary information to travelers during their journeys and enable them to identify orientation and location and obtain other information. Hence, the design of icons used in tourist guidebooks is crucial. A fundamental design principle for indicative icons is that they should be simple and easy to understand. In this study, 66 university students were recruited in order to experimentally investigate how two strategies - simplification and metaphor - affect the design of tourist guidebooks. The findings demonstrate that to achieve 'semantic conveyance,' the use of metaphor or simplification combined with metaphor can provide the optimal effect. For 'design quality,' the use of simplification has the most significant effect. For 'symbolic significance' and 'comprehensive evaluation,' metaphor or simplification combined with metaphor can achieve the most significant effect. Finally, this paper proposes recommendations and considerations for future studies.Item type:Item, THE IMPACT OF TOUR GUIDES\' PHYSICAL ATTRACTIVENESS, SENSE OF HUMOR, AND SENIORITY ON GUIDE ATTENTION AND EFFICIENCY(2016) ;Tsai, Chih-Yung ;Wang, Ming-Tzong ;Tseng, Hsiao-Ting ;資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Department of Information Management and FinanceIn this study, we investigated whether tourists view attractive tour guides as more competent, humorous tour guides as more approachable, and experienced tour guides as more professional, and whether these three factors influence the effectiveness of tour guide interpretation. The results indicated that physical attractiveness and humor had additive effects on interpretation effectiveness when combined. Although some tour guides were not physically attractive, experience provided an additive effect on interpretation effectiveness. Thus, we recommend discarding stereotypes regarding physical attractiveness and improving education and training in humor for tour guides. Experienced tour guides wearing appropriate attire also increases interpretation effectiveness.
