Item type:Item, Chemo-, Regio- and Stereoselective Tricyclohexylphosphine-Catalyzed [3+2] Cycloaddition of Enynes with [60]Fullerene Initiated by 1,4-Michael Addition: Synthesis of Cyclopenteno[60]fullerenes and their Electrochemical Properties(2013-08-12) ;Tseng, Po-Yen ;Chuang, Shih-Ching ;應用化學系Department of Applied ChemistryHerein we demonstrate a tricyclohexylphosphine-catalyzed cycloaddition of (E)- or (Z)-alkyl 5-substituted phenylpent-2-en-4-ynoates with [60]fullerene to give cyclopentenofullerenes in good to excellent yields, through initial chemo- and regioselective 1,4-addition of phosphines at the -carbon of the enyne substrates. The nucleophilic addition pattern of P(cHx)(3) is found to be different from that of Gilman or Grignard reagents toward the studied enynes. The resulting cyclopentenofullerenes, characterized with spectrometric methods and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, exhibit comparable or higher LUMO energy levels than a typical n-type material, [6,6]-phenyl-C-61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM).Item type:Item, Organic bulk heterojunction photovoltaics incorporating cyclopenteno[60]fullerene monoadducts as n-type materials display superior power conversion efficiency than with PC61BM(1970-01-01) ;Tseng, Po-Yen ;Hsiao, Huan-Chang ;Hsieh, Cheng-Ming ;Wu, An-JuChuang, Shih-ChingOrganic bulk heterojunction photovoltaics, merely incorporating monoadducts of cyclopenteno[60]fullerenes (CPFs) as n-type materials and P3HT as p-type materials, display superior power conversion efficiency up to 4.6 +/- 0.12%, superseding that with PC61BM/P3HT (3.8 +/- 0.20%) for ca. 20%, under AM 1.5G irradiation?primarily attributed to the lack of homo-conjugation on CPFs and their higher LUMO energy levels.Item type:Item, Organic bulk heterojunction photovoltaics with cyclopenteno[60]fullerene monoadducts as n-type materials display superior power conversion efficiency than with PC61BM(2016-08-20) ;Chuang, Shih-Ching ;Tseng, Po-Yen ;應用化學系Department of Applied ChemistryItem type:Item, Palladium-Catalyzed Regio- and Stereoselective Hydrosulfonation of Propiolate Esters(2017-11-01) ;Raju, Selvam ;Annamalai, Pratheepkumar ;Chan, Fu-Wei ;Tseng, Po-YenChen, Po-YenAn efficient palladium-catalyzed addition reaction of alkyland arylsulfonic acids to propiolate esters to yield alkenyl sulfonates is demonstrated. The formation of alkenyl sulfonates is highly regio- and stereoselective with favorable yields of up to 95%, and two of the alkenyl sulfonates are utilized for a Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction to produce (Z)-1,3-enynoates.Item type:Item, Tricyclohexylphosphine-Catalyzed Cycloaddition of Enynoates with [60]Fullerene and the Application of Cyclopentenofullerenes as n-Type Materials in Organic Photovoltaics(2016-01-15) ;Wu, An-Ju ;Tseng, Po-Yen ;Hsu, Wei-Hsin ;Chuang, Shih-Ching應用化學系The tricyclohexylphosphine-catalyzed [3 + 2] cycloaddition of (E)-alkyl 5-substituted phenylpent-4-en-2-ynoates with [60]fullerene was studied. This reaction undergoes an initial 1,3-addition of phosphines toward the alpha-carbons of enynoates. Subsequent cycloaddition of the generated 1,3-dipoles with [60]fullerene and elimination of tricyclohexylphosphines resulted in cyclopentenofullerenes in 2043% yields. The isolated cyclopentenofullerenes were observed to serve as n-type materials in organic photovoltaics, providing a maximum average power conversion efficiency of 3.79 +/- 0.29% upon embedding with P3HT in the active layer.
