Item type:Item, ANALYSIS OF AN INTEGRATED MULTIPLEXER WITH ALL QUEUEABLE AND FIXED-LENGTH TRAFFICS IN INTERMEDIATE NODE(1992-07-01) ;CHANG, CJ ;WANG, SY ;交大名義發表 ;電信工程研究所National Chiao Tung UniversityAn integrated multiplexer in intermediate node is analyzed. The multiplexer is modeled as a system with multiple synchronous servers (channels) and having two kinds of customers. Between the two, one is wideband (WB) and the other is narrowband (NB); they are queueable with the same deterministic service time. The WB customer is given higher priority of channel access than the NB. To incorporate the delay constraint of WB, we use a simple instant discarding scheme(8) for WB. As a result, the system states defined just after the beginning of a slot form an one-dimensional embedded Markov chain. This makes the analysis computationally tractable. The performance measures such as queue length distribution, average blocking probability, and average waiting time are obtained, particularly, the waiting time distribution. Some interesting numerical examples are discussed. Simulation results are also provided to help verify the validity of analysis.Item type:Item, AXIAL-RATIO DISTRIBUTION EFFECT OF ISOLATED MICROSPHEROIDS ON THE SURFACE ENHANCED RAMAN-SCATTERING(1984) ;CHU, LC ;WANG, SY ;物理研究所 ;電控工程研究所Institute of PhysicsItem type:Item, CHARACTERIZATION OF H-2/N-2 PLASMA PASSIVATION PROCESS FOR POLY-SI THIN-FILM TRANSISTORS (TFTS)(1995-06-01) ;TSAI, MJ ;WANG, FS ;CHENG, KL ;WANG, SYFENG, MSThe effects of nitrogen additives on the plasma hydrogenation of polycrystalline silicon thin film transistors (poly-Si TFTs) have been investigated with various radio-frequency (RF) power densities, substrate heating temperature, gas flow rates, as well as chamber pressures. The nitrogen-containing hydrogen (H-2/N-2) plasma treatments show better passivation effects on the electrical characteristics of the poly-Si TFTs than the pure H-2 hydrogenation. It is attributed to the passivation effect of the nitrogen radicals themselves and the promotion of the hydrogen plasma generation due to the radical collision. The passivation effects have been enhanced by properly chosen RF power density, gas flow rate and chamber pressure. Furthermore, the H-2/N-2 plasma were also utilized to passivate the poly-Si TFTs with different grain structures.Item type:Item, CONTRIBUTIONS OF R-1,R-2,R-3 TERMS OF THE FULL DIPOLE FIELDS ASSOCIATED WITH RAMAN-SCATTERING ENHANCEMENT FROM CN MOLECULES ADSORBED ON A 2-D ARRAY OF AG SPHEROIDS(1985) ;CHU, LC ;WANG, SY ;電控工程研究所Institute of Electrical and Control EngineeringItem type:Item, CORRELATIONS AMONG C/B, TC, AND MADELUNG POTENTIALS IN THE SYSTEM OF RBA2CU3OX SUPERCONDUCTORS(1989-11-01) ;TSAY, SF ;WANG, SY ;HORNG, L ;YANG, TJW電子物理學系Item type:Item, MAXIMUM INDEPENDENT NUMBER FOR SERIES-PARALLEL NETWORKS(1991-07-01) ;HSU, LH ;WANG, SY ;交大名義發表 ;資訊工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityA series-parallel network is used as a model of electric circuits. Usually, we use a series-parallel graph to represent a series-parallel network. However, there are a lot of different graph representations for a single series-parallel network. For a given graph, a subset of V(G) is called an independent set if there are no edge of G joining two vertices in S. An independent set S of G is maximum if G has no independent set S' with S' > S. The number of vertices in a maximum independent set of G is called the independent number of G and is denoted by alpha-(G). The maximum independent number alpha-(N) for a series-parallel network N is defined to be the maximum alpha(G[N]) among all possible graph representations G[N]. In this paper, we are going to present a linear time algorithm to compute alpha(N) for any series-parallel network N.Item type:Item, MULTIPOLE EXPANSION OF THE SCATTERING OF LIGHT FROM A METAL MICROSPHEROID(1985) ;CHU, LC ;WANG, SY ;電控工程研究所Institute of Electrical and Control EngineeringItem type:Item, ON THE ROLE OF CU-O CHAINS IN YBA2CU3O7-X SYSTEM FROM THE PLASMON-MEDIATED MECHANISM(1990-08-01) ;YANG, TJW ;TSAY, SF ;WANG, SY ;電子物理學系物理研究所Item type:Item, PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF A STATISTICAL MULTIPLEXER FOR INTEGRATED SERVICE IN THE CUSTOMER-PREMISE EQUIPMENT(1992-08-17) ;CHANG, CJ ;WANG, SY ;電信工程研究所Institute of Communications EngineeringA statistical multiplexer for integrated service in the customer-premise equipment is analyzed. The integrated service is generally assumed to contain both wideband (WB) and narrowband (NB) services. The arrival process for the former is modeled as a discrete birth-death Markov chain and that for the latter is modeled as an independent Poisson. Each customer of WB arrival requires more than one channels (servers) for service, while each customer of NB arrival requires a single channel, and the service times of channels are the same and constant. These two types of customers are assumed to be delayed in a finite waiting room if blocked. Also, a cutoff parameter specifying the maximum number of WB customers that can receive service in one slot is provided for protection of NB. The performance measures include queue length distribution, blocking probability, and mean waiting time. Simulation results are also provided to help verify the validity of the analysis.Item type:Item, PLASMON MODES IN A SYSTEM COMPOSED OF CU-O LAYERS AND CHAINS(1991-06-01) ;TSAY, SF ;WANG, SY ;YANG, TJW ;電子物理學系Department of ElectrophysicsBased on a free-electron model of both the quasi-two-dimensional CuO2 layers and the quasi-one-dimensional Cu-O chains in high-T(c) Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductors, we have calculated in this simplified system various Coulombic electron-electron interacting potentials V(q), dielectric functions, dispersion relations, and various plasmon modes, including in particular the acoustic plasmons. The main contribution of the chains is to stabilize, isolate, and generate more acoustic plasmons-omega- which provide a pairing mechanism for high-T(c) superconductivity.Item type:Item, RADIATION DAMPING IN THE SCATTERING OF LIGHT BY A METAL SPHERE(1986-04-21) ;WANG, SY ;CHU, LC ;電控工程研究所Institute of Electrical and Control EngineeringItem type:Item, SIMPLE TREATMENT OF THE ENHANCEMENT OF RAMAN-SCATTERING DUE TO A 2-DIMENSIONAL ARRAY OF METALLIC SPHEROIDS(1985-01-01) ;CHU, LC ;WANG, SY ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsItem type:Item, THE CONDUCTIVITY TRANSITION OF AGGREGATED BI FILMS(1984) ;LIANG, NT ;LU, CY ;WANG, SY ;電子物理學系電控工程研究所Item type:Item, THE COUPLING NATURE OF PLASMON MODES AMONG DIFFERENT LAYERS IN A-SYSTEM COMPOSED OF CUO2 LAYERS AND CUO CHAINS(1991-12-01) ;YANG, TJW ;TSAY, SF ;WANG, SY ;電子物理學系Department of ElectrophysicsUsing free electron gas model for sheets and chains, we obtain the dielectric function epsilon(q, omega) of a finite multilayer system composed of CuO2 sheets and CuO chains including the Coulomb interactions among layer-layer, chain-chain and chain-layer within the random-phase approximation (RPA). And then the dielectric function epsilon(q. omega) is diagonalized to find eigenvectors for different plasmon modes. Eigenvectors of the lowest (highest) frequency plasmon model for n = 4 and 5 systems are illustrated. We find that the range of Coulomb interactions strongly affects eigenvectors and plasmon dispersion.Item type:Item, THE DISPERSION-RELATIONS OF PLASMONS IN A SIMPLIFIED SYSTEM OF CUO2 LAYERS AND CU-O CHAINS(1992-09-01) ;TSAY, SF ;WANG, SY ;YANG, TJW ;電子物理學系Department of ElectrophysicsA simplified model for YBa2Cu3O7 system composed of CuO2 layers and Cu-O chains has been calculated with the long range effect of the all-neighbors Coulombic e-e interactions taken into consideration. Dispersion relations have been worked out and discussed. The most striking consequence from the all-neighbors interaction is that the plasmons have, in the long wavelength limit, in addition to the usual vanishingly small two-dimensional acoustic plasmon energies which result from only nearest neighbor interactions, a non-zero omega(P)* consistent with the bulk plasma frequency of a three dimensional system. The data of an optical reflectance from an EELS experiment has been refitted based on calculated results for plasmon dispersion relations in the YBa2Cu3O7 system.Item type:Item, THE MECHANISM OF CHAINS IN PRODUCING ACOUSTIC PLASMONS IN SYSTEMS COMPOSED OF CU-O2 LAYERS AND CU-O CHAINS(1990-12-24) ;TSAY, SF ;WANG, SY ;YANG, TJW ;電子物理學系Department of ElectrophysicsBased on the Coulombic electron-electron interactions the dielectric functions, dispersion relations and various plasmons are calculated and analyzed for systems containing a finite number of Cu-O layers and chains. Because of the chain's small polarization the chains could serve as a charge reservoir in stabilizing the acoustic plasmons of the layers and for larger q they could provide isolation between neighboring coupled layers yielding more acoustic plasmons.
