Item type:Item, Bare Finger 3D Air-Touch System Using an Embedded Optical Sensor Array for Mobile Displays(2014-01-01) ;Wang, Guo-Zhen ;Huang, Yi-Pai ;Chang, Tian-Sheuan ;Chen, Tsu-Han電子工程學系及電子研究所Generally, 3-D interactive systems are used in systems with large displays and are not suitable for portable devices. To "touch" a floating 3-D image displayed from a mobile device, we proposed a camera-free, 3D, interactive, virtual-touch system for bare fingers. By embedding optical sensors into the display pixels and adding angular scanning illuminators to the edge of the display, a flat panel can sense the images reflected off a bare finger. The three-axis ( x, y, z) information of the fingertip can be determined by analyzing these reflected images. The proposed 3-D virtual-touch system successfully functions with a 4-inmobile display.Item type:Item, Bare finger 3D air-touch system with embedded multiwavelength optical sensor arrays for mobile 3D displays(2013-09-01) ;Wang, Guo-Zhen ;Huang, Yi-Pai ;Chang, Tian-Sheuan ;電子工程學系及電子研究所光電工程學系Item type:Item, CAMERA FREE 3-DIMENSIONAL VIRTUAL TOUCH DISPLAY WITH MULTI-USER IDENTIFICATION(2012) ;Huang, Yi-Pai ;Wang, Guo-Zhen ;Huang, Shu-Yi ;Tai, Ya-HsiangChen, Tsu-HanA camera free 3D interactive system for multi-user/multi-touch was proposed. By embedding the optical sensors in display pixels, the flat panel can sense images projected by infrared(IR) light. A light pen which can project T-mark IR image was utilized to determine the 5-axis (x, y, theta, phi) information of the user. Additionally, multiple T-marks with sequentially illuminating method can further identify multiusers even the marks are overlapped. Therefore, a 3-dimensional virtual touch display for 5-axis information with multi-user system can be achieved.Item type:Item, Delta-Color Adjustment (DCA) for Spatial Modulated Color Backlight Algorithm on High Dynamic Range LCD TVs(2010-06-01) ;Wang, Guo-Zhen ;Lin, Fang-Cheng ;Huang, Yi-Pai ;光電工程學系顯示科技研究所A high-dynamic-range liquid crystal display (HDR-LCD) which studies as a dual-panel display can much enhance the contrast ratio of image and reduce the power consumption upon the locally controlled dynamic backlight. A simple modulated algorithm, Delta-Color Adjustment (DCA) method, was proposed to determine the RGB-LEDs backlight modulation for high image quality. By implementing the DCA method on a 37 '' HDR-LCD TV with 8 x 8 backlight zones, the contrast ratio of a high contrast image can reach similar to 40000:1 with clear image detail and 40% power reduction. Furthermore, by controlling the R, G, and B LEDs individually, the color gamut can be enlarged to 125% NTSC.Item type:Item, Delta-color adjustment (DCA) method for color controlled backlight of high dynamic range LCD-TVs(2008) ;Wang, Guo-Zhen ;Huang, Yi-Pai ;Lin, Fang-Cheng ;Shieh, Han-Ping D.Yeh, Szu-CheA high-dynamic-range liquid crystal display (HDR-LCD) can much enhance the contrast ratio of image and reduce power consumption upon the locally controlled dynamic back-light. Delta-color adjustment(DCA) method with simple adjustment progress, was proposed and demonstrated on a 37 '' HDR-LCD to further reduce the power consumption, increase the contrast, widen the NTSC ratio and can still maintain image details.Item type:Item, Fast Imaging in the Dark by using Convolutional Network(2019-01-01) ;Chiu, Mian Jhong ;Wang, Guo-Zhen ;Chuang, Jen-Hui ;交大名義發表資訊工程學系While fast imaging in low-light condition is crucial for surveillance and robot applications, it is still a formidable challenge to resolve the seemingly inevitable high noise level and low photon count issues. A variety of image enhancement methods such as de-blurring and de-noising have been proposed in the past. However, limitations can still be found in these methods under extreme low-light condition. To overcome such difficulty, a learning-based image enhancement approach is proposed in this paper. In order to support the development of learning-based methodology, we collected a new low-lighting dataset (<0.1 lux) of raw short-exposure (6.67 ms) images, as well as the corresponding long-exposure reference images. Based on such dataset, we develop a light-weight convolutional network structure which is involved with fewer parameters and has lower computation cost compared with a regular-size network. The presented work is expected to make possible the implementation of more advanced edge devices, and their applications.Item type:Item, Liquid Crystal Lens Array for 3D Display and 3D Air-touch(2013) ;Huang, Yi-Pai ;Jen, Tai-Hsieng ;Chang, Yu-Cheng ;Wang, Guo-ZhenShieh, Po-YuanA low driving voltage with fast response LC-lens by using high resistance material was developed. By implementing the LC-lens as an array structure, it can be adaptively used for multi-function of 3D displays. Furthermore, by combining with coded optical barrier with embedded optical sensors, it can yield 3D air-touch function.Item type:Item, Segment Color Control (SCC) Method for Color Controlled Backlight of High Dynamic Range LCD-TVs(2009) ;Wang, Guo-Zhen ;Huang, Yi-Pai ;Shieh, Han-Ping D. ;Yeh, Szu-Che電子工程學系及電子研究所A high-dynamic-range liquid crystal display (HDR-LCD) can much enhance the contrast ratio of image and reduce power consumption by using locally controlled dynamic backlight. A novel method, segment color control (SCC) method, was proposed with low, complexity, and had been demonstrated on a 37" HDR-LCD. By using the segment color control method, the contrast ratio of image on a 37" HDR-LCD TV was successfully improved to similar to 40,000:1 with clear image detail, and about 10%similar to 50% power saving. Furthermore, the SCC method further widened the color gamut from 108%NTSC to 125%NTSC.Item type:Item, Three-Dimensional Virtual Touch Display System for Multi-User Applications(2013-11-01) ;Huang, Yi-Pai ;Wang, Guo-Zhen ;Chang, Tian-Sheuan ;Chen, Tsu-Han電子工程學系及電子研究所By embedding optical sensors onto a TFT substrate in a display, a flat panel can sense images projected by infrared (IR) light. Therefore, 3D interactive display with embedded optical sensor was proposed. Based on optical sensor based system, we proposed four different methods to support differenct functions. T mark algorithm can obtain 5-axis information (x, y, z,theta, and phi) of LED no matter where LED was vertical or inclined to panel and whatever it rotated. Sequential mark algorithm and color filter based algorithm can support mulit-user. Finally, bare finger touch system with sequential illuminator can achieve to interact with auto-stereoscopic images by bare finger. Furthermore, the proposed methods were verified on a 4-inch panel with embedded optical sensors.
