Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting 22, 331-344] developed the theory and the distribution of unconditional relative risk aversion (RRA) estimates in utility-based asset pricing model by assuming normality for the log excess returns. While the normality assumption is not always appropriate for some security returns, Brown and Gibbons [Brown, D.P., Gibbons, M.R., 1985. A simple econometric approach for utility-based asset pricing model. Journal of Finance 40, 359-381] proposed generalized method of moments (GMM) to estimate unconditional RRA. However, RRA estimated by GMM is not statistically efficient with finite samples. The main purpose of this paper is to derive the process of estimating dynamic RRA with the maximum likelihood and a Bayesian method having a weakly informative prior density while assuming that the log excess returns on the market are distributed as normal mixture GARCH(1,1). This methodology will capture the variations of RRA across different periods. Empirical results are presented using market rates of returns and risk-free rates over the period 1941 to 2001. S. ;Chang, C. -C. ;Chen, Y. -T. ;Lin, D. -W.Liou, J. -S.A GaN-based vertical-cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) structure featuring a silicon-diffusion-defined current blocking layer for lateral confinement is described. Sub-milliamp threshold currents were achieved for both 3- and 5-mu m-aperture VCSELs under continuous-wave operation at room temperature. The vertical cavity was defined by a top dielectric distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) and a bottom epitaxial DBR. The emission spectrum exhibited a single peak at 411.2 nm with a line-width of 0.4nm and a side mode suppression ratio of more than 10 dB before device packaging. The full-width-at-half-maximum divergence angle of the 3-mu m-aperture VCSEL was as small as approximately 5 degrees which is the lowest number reported. These results implied the 3-mu m-aperture VCSEL was in near single-mode operation. L.Body-to-body leakage (BBL) current in a partially depleted silicon-on-insulator (PD-SOI) device is increased significantly as polyspacing (PS) is reduced in technology scaling. We found out that the BBL has a great impact to Vt variation. We have demonstrated that the BBL can be minimized drastically by implant optimization. The dependence of the BBL on silicon film thickness, e-SiGe structure, and dopant diffusivity is also discussed in this paper. The layout effect of the BBL current in PD-SOI devices has been characterized with different PSs, device widths, and polylengths. Finally, we have demonstrated that the BBL current can be reduced below junction leakage level. (C) 2009 The Electrochemical Society. C. ;Hsu, P. H.Huang, J. Y.The system characteristics of 4G and beyond 4G broadband mobile system (BMS) are high data rate (throughput), low latency (delay), high mobility (speed), and high capacity. The current recognized 4G BMS needs to meet the requirements specified by IMT-Advanced of ITU-T. Those BMSs include 3GPP-LTE/LTE-Advanced and IEEE 802.16e/m (WiMAX 1/WiMAX 2). In the meantime, the smart device (smartphone and tablet) with powerful CPU/GPU, HD digital camera, digital compass, GPS, and various sensors are becoming rapidly popular. In addition, the architecture and capability of cloud computing are getting adopted in various applications and services, a cloud-based 4G/LTE is one example of telecommunications services. With the combination of more deployments of cloud-based BMSs and increasing usages of smart mobile devices, there are many potential appealing applications and services with real-time and/or interactive features can be created. In this article, we explore the technology and applications of mobile augmented reality (MAR) on the cloud-based 4G BMS (TD-LTE) and smart devices environment. The developed smart device-based MAR system (SD-MAR) with the 4G/TD-LTE experimental network testbed is located at MIRC/BML in the campus of National Chiao Tung University. This testbed consists of several brandy dongles/tablets/smartphones (as UE), two NSN TD-LTE base stations (as eNodeB), one core network (as EPC), and cloud-based servers and data center. To study the technology and applications on SD-MAR system, we have integrated research teams/people specialized in the areas of cloud computing, smart device technology, 4G broadband mobile system, computer vision and image processing, gesture recognition, computer graphics and rendering, and system integration. The applications discussed in the article include real-time accurate navigation/tourism for indoor and outdoor, collaborative urban design, and multiuser interactive motion learning system in the mobile environment.
