Item type:Item, Area-Efficient and Low-Leakage Diode String for On-Chip ESD Protection(2016-02-01) ;Lin, Chun-Yu ;Wu, Po-Han ;Ker, Ming-Dou ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsDiode string was used as the effective on-chip electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection device. To reduce the leakage current and the layout area, an area-efficient and low-leakage diode string is proposed in this paper. The standard steps of P- implantation and silicide blocking in CMOS process are used in this design to realize the proposed diode string with stacked P-/N+ diodes. The test devices of the proposed design have successfully been verified in the silicon chip. With the high ESD robustness, low leakage current, and small layout area, the proposed diode string can be a better solution for on-chip ESD protection applications.Item type:Item, FABRICATION OF A TRANSPARENT STRUCTURED SUPEROMNIPHOBIC SURFACE USING A MULTIPLE PARTIAL EXPOSE METHOD(2017-01-01) ;Lee, Meng-Shiue ;Wu, Po-Han ;Hsu, Wensyang ;機械工程學系Department of Mechanical EngineeringA novel approach which uses a multiple partial exposure method to fabricate a transparent structured superomniphobic surface with doubly re-entrant structures by using negative thick photoresist SU-8 as the material is proposed. By using gray-tone lithography, the doubly re-entrant structures can be formed only via a standard lithography process. The gray-tone lithography for fabricating the doubly re-entrant structures is achieved by depositing three appropriate thicknesses of Ti film on glass substrate that acts as the gray-tone mask. The proposed transparent surface with the doubly re-entrant structures successful suspend all the tested liquid even the completely wetting liquid, such as silicon oil with the surface tension of 20.9 mN/m. This approach provides a simple, flexible and low-cost solution for fabricating superomniphobic surface, and it also has the potential to integrate with either flexible or nonflexible substrate for different applications.Item type:Item, OLM: Opportunistic Layered Multicasting for Scalable IPTV over Mobile WiMAX(2012-03-01) ;Huang, Chih-Wei ;Huang, Shiang-Ming ;Wu, Po-Han ;Lin, Shiang-JiunHwang, Jenq-NengWe propose Opportunistic Layered Multicasting (OLM), a joint user scheduling and resource allocation algorithm that provides enhanced quality and efficiency for layered video multicast over Mobile WiMAX. This work is a lead off and complete synergy of layered video multicasting with opportunistic concept. The target application is characterized by groups of users acquiring popular video programs over a fading channel. To accommodate various bandwidth requirements and device capability, video streams are coded into base and enhancement layers using scalable video coding technology. Correspondingly, the optimization problems, which select the best subset of users to receive a specific video layer and assign the most appropriate modulation and coding scheme for this video layer, are specifically formulated for both video layer types. We also design fast and effective algorithms to bridge the gap between theoretical throughput capacity and implementation concerns. Thus, the basic video quality can be efficiently guaranteed to all subscribers while creating most utility out of limited resources on enhancement information. To overcome the inevitable packet loss in a multicast session, an FEC rate adaptation scheme to approach theoretical performance is also presented. Favorable performance of the proposed algorithms is demonstrated by simulations utilizing realistic Mobile WiMAX parameters.
