Item type:Item, CODEX: Content-oriented data EXchange model on CORBA(2003-08-01) ;Chang, YS ;Wu, RS ;Liang, KC ;Yuan, SMYang, MAsynchronous Data Exchange (ADE) is useful in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). It needs a well-defined mechanism to support data buffing, dispatching, and filtering. ADE is more flexible, extensible and scalable than the synchronous one. CORBA Event Service, announced by OMG, offers an easy-to-use, abstract and generic communication mechanism, while providing message delivering, dispatching and buffering by way of introducing the concept of event channels. However, it lacks some practical data exchange functions. This paper proposes the design and implementation of a system named CODEX (stand for Content-Oriented Data EXchange system), which combines the XML features and the functionality of CORBA (which stands for Common Object Request Broker Architecture) Event Service. The CODEX system equips functions of primitive data type checking, message classification, content filtering and source/destination screening. Application developers can focus more on business functions, instead of caring about the detail of data exchange. The concept and architecture of the content-oriented data exchange, provided by CODEX, can be applied to other practical computing fields in the large-scale, loosely coupled distributed computing environments. However, Web services do not resolve the problems deriving from business process integration. This technology doesn't handle the transaction behaviors among different organizations and make each service function separately; it can't make multiple services seem to be a single service and ensure the all-or-nothing logic among them. Distributed transactions systems need long-period of time, asynchronous messaging and involve multiple applications belong to different organizations and enterprises. These are entirely different from the traditional transaction systems. In this paper, we propose transaction architecture and implement it in Web services based on current Web services specifications. We will also review the weakness of those specifications and enhance their functions to fulflll most requirements. Based on the analysis and implemented system, transaction architecture in Web services environment is constructed and using transaction in this environment becomes easy.Item type:Item, iCell: Integration unit in enterprise cooperative environment(2004) ;Wu, RS ;Yuan, SM ;Liang, A ;Chyan, D資訊工程學系An enterprise cooperative environment is combination of emerging technologies and methodologies on which both enterprise employee and customers can perform necessary business activities. A business activity will involve many systems of an enterprise. Integration between those systems becomes a critical issue because inter-/intra- enterprises will have heterogeneous systems. Recently, many new technologies boost the evolution of the integration toward a more efficient and effective computing. Enterprise has to choose suitable technology as integration platform to make value. However, only a few enterprises can really utilize those technologies because they do not have a proper infrastructure. Those technologies lose their advantages. In this paper, we design an infrastructure to provide the integration platform. It is iCell that provides flexible and useful mechanism to archive business operation. It is light-weigh architecture and can be adopt into existed enterprise environment easy. Based on the mechanism, the integration becomes possible and constructing enterprise cooperative becomes easy.
