Item type:Item, An integrated CFD and experimental study of the in-line fan(2014) ;Yen, Hung-Cheng ;Hsu, Wen-Syang ;Cheng, Yung-Jen ;Lin, Sheam-ChyunWu, Yu-ChuanThis study analyzes the flow flied and the guide vane associated with an in-line fan by an integrated numerical and experimental investigation. At first, the flow field associated with the fan is simulated by using a commercial CFD code Fluent with the finite volume method. In addition, the guiding vane profile is imposed and modified by examining characteristics of flow field. An appropriate guiding vane with high-performance and low-noise feature can be achieved after several design iterations. To manufacture the mock-up for experimental verification, the designed fan is expressed in the CAD/CAM format for the rapid-prototype technique. Moreover, a set of relations correlating the performance and noise of this fan prototype are executed with the aids of AMCA test chamber and semi-anechoic chamber, respectively. Consequently, the feasibility of design scheme and numerical system can be verified according to these experimental results. In summary, this work provides a systematic scheme for designing and analyzing the in-line fan.Item type:Item, Gold nanospirals(2015-01-01) ;Chang, Yu-Hsu ;Wu, Yu-Chuan ;Hsu, Ya-Ting ;Huang, Shih-HaoHuang, Yi-ChinThis study used a galvanic displacement reaction for aluminum-gold oxidation-reduction and added surfactants to act as capping agents to control the morphology and size of gold growth. Three surfactants, namely cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and poly(ethylene glycol)(12) tridecyl ether, were added to HAuCl4 (aq.) to create novel gold nanospirals (AuNSs) 200-500 nm in diameter and tens of mu m in length. Transmission electron microscopy analysis showed that the AuNSs were face-centered cubic in structure and that growths on the {111} facet were growth twins with mirror symmetry. Used as the base material for surface-enhanced Raman scattering, the structure of the trunk and dendrimers of the AuNSs create numerous hot spots, exhibiting a superior surface enhancement effect.Item type:Item, Hybrid-type white LEDs based on inorganic halide perovskite QDs: candidates for wide color gamut display backlights(2019-05-01) ;Lin, Chih-Hao ;Verma, Akta ;Kang, Chieh-Yu ;Pai, Yung-MinChen, Tzu-YuWe demonstrate inorganic halide perovskite quantum-dots-based white light-emitting diodes via three different geometries, including liquid, solid, and hybrid types. Problems of fast anion exchange and aggregation in the cases of liquid- and solid-type devices are discussed in detail and push us to move towards the fabrication of a hybrid-type device structure. The experiment results illustrate that a hybrid-type device has the highest luminance efficiency (51 lm/W) and a wide color gamut (122% of NTSC and 91% of Rec. 2020). Therefore, we conclude that a hybrid-type device can provide an outstanding color gamut for high color gamut display applications. (c) 2019 Chinese Laser Press
