Item type:Item, A network-based approach for increasing discrimination in data envelopment analysis(2009-11-01) ;Liu, J. S. ;Lu, W-M ;Yang, C. ;Chuang, M.交大名義發表Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is known to produce more than one efficient decision-making unit (DMU). This paper proposes a network-based approach for further increasing discrimination among these efficient DMUs. The approach treats the system under study as a directed and weighted network in which nodes represent DMUs and the direction and strength of the links represent the relative relationship among DMUs. In constructing the network, the observed node is set to point to its referent DMUs as suggested by DEA. The corresponding lambda values for these referent DMUs are taken as the strength of the network link. The network is weaved by not only the full input/output model, but also by models of all possible input/output combinations. Incorporating these models into the system basically introduces the merits of each DMU under various situations into the system and thus provides the key information for further discrimination. Once the network is constructed, the centrality concept commonly used in social network analysis-specifically, eigenvector centrality-is employed to rank the efficient DMUs. The network-based approach tends to rank high the DMUs that are not specialized and have balanced strengths.Item type:Item, Applying Grounded Theory to Study Collaborative Climate, Supplier Relationship, Trust, Knowledge Sharing, and Performance in an Organization(2009) ;Yang, C. ;Yang, K. C. ;Tseng, S. Y. ;高階主管管理碩士學程Degree Program of Master of Business AdministrationThe purpose of this study is to argue the case for the use of grounded theory as a valid method for the relationship among collaboration climate, supplier relationship, trust, knowledge management, and performance. The grounded theory research method that was employed in this study is a primarily inductive investigative process in which the researcher formulates a theory about a phenomenon by systematically gathering and analyzing relevant data. This research method is trying to building theory, not testing theory. The data that was gathered for this study primarily consisted of semi-structured in-depth interviews with informants of varying industry, scale and management level.Item type:Item, Assessing the effects of interactive blogging on student attitudes towards peer interaction, learning motivation, and academic achievements(2012-04-01) ;Yang, C. ;Chang, Y. -S. ;經營管理研究所Institute of Business and ManagementBlogs have been increasingly used to supplement traditional classroom lectures in higher education. This paper explores the use of blogs, and how student attitudes towards online peer interaction and peer learning, as well as motivation to learn from peers, may differ when using the blog comments feature, and when students are encouraged to read and comment on each other's work. We contrast two ways blogs affect learning engagement: (1) solitary blogs as personal digital portfolios for writers; or (2) blogs used interactively to facilitate peer interaction by exposing blogging content and comments to peers. A quasi-experiment was conducted across two semesters, involving 154 graduate and undergraduate students. The result suggests that interactive blogs, compared with isolated blogs, are associated with positive attitudes towards academic achievement in course subjects and in online peer interaction. Students showed positive motivation to learn from peer work, regardless of whether blogs were interactive or solitary.Item type:Item, Consumer Attitudes Toward Online Video Advertising: An Empirical Study on YouTube as Platform(2014-01-01) ;Yang, K. C. ;Yang, C. ;Huang, C. H. ;Shih, P. H.Yang, S. Y.The usage of Internet is getting widespread, and the service of online video is getting more and more popular. The revenue of the web service providers comes mostly from the advertisements. This study investigates the attitudes toward the advertisements while watching online videos in YouTube. We followed the research of users' attitudes toward advertisements (Brackett & Carr, 2001) and combined it with the theory of reasoned action and the flow theory in the psychology. This study investigates the factor affecting attitudes toward advertisements and the influence to behaviors. Our findings show that the model explained most of the variance of attitudes toward advertisements in sites providing services of online videos indicating that the model is confirmed in the situation of online video advertising. The conclusion and managerial implications have further discussions.Item type:Item, Does knowledge management matter? Assessing the performance of electricity distribution districts based on slacks-based data envelopment analysis(2009-11-01) ;Chen, L-C ;Lu, W-M ;Yang, C. ;交大名義發表National Chiao Tung UniversityThis study uses slacks-based data envelopment analysis (DEA) to examine the performance of electricity distribution districts (EDDs) in Taiwan in 2004. It also explores the relationship between a knowledge management system (KMS) and variations in the efficiency of EDDs in the Taiwan Power Company from 2000 to 2004. The findings show that the EDDs performed well in terms of managerial efficiency in 2004, and 75% of the districts exhibited an increasing performance variation when using cross-period analysis for that period. We show that there is a positive relationship between a KMS and variations in organizational efficiency. In addition, we present a decision-making matrix and conceptual map to help EDD managers improve their managerial efficiency and skills. This study contributes to the field of knowledge management research by applying the DEA model to link the performance between KMS and an organization. Several significant findings emerge from the study.Item type:Item, Outsourcing in Business and Management Studies: A Co-Citation Analysis(2017-01-01) ;Yang, K. C. ;Yang, C. ;Huang, C. H. ;Lee, T. C.資訊管理與財務金融系 註:原資管所+財金所Outsourcing is a critical issue for an enterprise in the past two decades. It extended from the local operation service to the global service and influenced enterprise decision making process. Companies need to create competitive advantage from cost reduction, especially via outsourcing their operational activities. The purpose of this article is to bring up a visual mapping of two-dimensional intellectual structure and to recognize the subfields of the outsourcing through co-citation analysis. In this study, we collected some papers from ISI Web of Knowledge (WoS) database in the outsourcing area. We rank the outsourcing documents by times cited and collect the top 60 articles. Also, we use multidimensional scaling (MDS) and clustering techniques (CT) to create the two-dimensional maps to show the intellectual structure of outsourcing dynamically. The conclusion would provide for the researchers' reference.
