Item type:Item, CODEX: Content-oriented data EXchange model on CORBA(2003-08-01) ;Chang, YS ;Wu, RS ;Liang, KC ;Yuan, SMYang, MAsynchronous Data Exchange (ADE) is useful in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). It needs a well-defined mechanism to support data buffing, dispatching, and filtering. ADE is more flexible, extensible and scalable than the synchronous one. CORBA Event Service, announced by OMG, offers an easy-to-use, abstract and generic communication mechanism, while providing message delivering, dispatching and buffering by way of introducing the concept of event channels. However, it lacks some practical data exchange functions. This paper proposes the design and implementation of a system named CODEX (stand for Content-Oriented Data EXchange system), which combines the XML features and the functionality of CORBA (which stands for Common Object Request Broker Architecture) Event Service. The CODEX system equips functions of primitive data type checking, message classification, content filtering and source/destination screening. Application developers can focus more on business functions, instead of caring about the detail of data exchange. The concept and architecture of the content-oriented data exchange, provided by CODEX, can be applied to other practical computing fields in the large-scale, loosely coupled distributed computing environments. Numerical simulations based on current straw-man mission scenarios have shown: (1) For the static model of the gravity field, significant improvement is possible over our present knowledge embodied in the EGM96 model, out to harmonic degree as high as 40. (2) With respect to time-varying gravitational signals, large-scale mass transport processes in the geophysical fluids (e.g., atmosphere and oceans) can be detected or monitored during the mission, providing important global change information. Further sophisticated simulations incorporating more realistic force models will be needed once COSMIC mission scenario and spacecraft design are completely defined.Item type:Item, ESD protection structure with embedded high-voltage p-type SCR for automotive vacuum-fluorescent-display (VFD) applications(2005) ;Ker, MD ;Chang, WJ ;Yang, M ;Chen, CCChan, MCA new ESD protection structure of HVPSCR embedded into the high-voltage PMOS device is proposed to greatly improve ESD robustness of the vacuum-fluorescent-display (VFD) driver IC for automotive electronics applications. By only adding the additional N+ diffusion into the drain region of HVPMOS, the 112 of output cell has been greatly improved form 0.07A to be greater than 6A within the almost same layout area. Such an ESD-enhanced VFD driver IC has been in mass production for automotive applications in car to sustain HBM ESD stress of up to 8kV.Item type:Item, The performance of GPS Standard Positioning Service without selective availability(2001-07-01) ;Shih, TY ;Shih, HY ;Yang, M ;土木工程學系Department of Civil EngineeringThe accuracy of the Standard Positioning Service of GPS has greatly improved after the termination of Selective Availability. Based on GPS observations from permanent GPS-fixed stations, the actual accuracy of GPS without SA is analyzed. For Station NCTU, the local geodetic coordinates are computed with the C/A code pseudo-ranges, and then transformed into a local grid system with Trans-Mercator projection. From 77984 single epoch observations collected in twenty-nine days, the 95% accuracy is found to be DeltaE : 17.6544m, DeltaN : 11.8236, DeltaH : 31.8018m. For five selected UNAVCO stations, the axes of error ellipsoid are computed.
