Item type:Item, Designing an optimal multivariate geostatistical groundwater quality monitoring network using factorial kriging and genetic algorithms(2006-05-01) ;Yeh, MS ;Lin, YP ;Chang, LC ;土木工程學系Department of Civil EngineeringThe optimal selection of monitoring wells is a major task in designing an information-effective groundwater quality monitoring network which can provide sufficient and not redundant information of monitoring variables for delineating spatial distribution or variations of monitoring variables. This study develops a design approach for an optimal multivariate geostatistical groundwater quality network by proposing a network system to identify groundwater quality spatial variations by using factorial kriging with genetic algorithm. The proposed approach is applied in designing a groundwater quality monitoring network for nine variables (EC, TDS, Cl-, Na, Ca, Mg, SO42-, Mn and Fe) in the Pingtung Plain in Taiwan. The spatial structure results show that the variograms and cross-variograms of the nine variables can be modeled in two spatial structures: a Gaussian model with ranges 28.5 kin and a spherical model with 40 km for short and long spatial scale variations, respectively. Moreover, the nine variables can be grouped into two major components for both short and long scales. The proposed optimal monitoring design model successfully obtains different optimal network systems for delineating spatial variations of the nine groundwater quality variables by using 20, 25 and 30 monitoring wells in both short scale (28.5 km) and long scale (40 km). Finally, the study confirms that the proposed model can design an optimal groundwater monitoring network that not only considers multiple groundwater quality variables but also monitors variations of monitoring variables at various spatial scales in the study area.Item type:Item, Electromigration lifetime improvement of copper interconnect by cap/dielectric interface treatment and geometrical design(2005-12-01) ;Lin, MH ;Lin, YL ;Chen, JM ;Yeh, MSChang, KPA significant improvement of electromigration (EM) lifetime is achieved by modification of the preclean step before cap-layer deposition and by changing Cu cap/dielectric materials. A possible mechanism for EM lifetime enhancement was proposed. Cu-silicide formation prior to cap-layer deposition and adhesion of Cu/cap interface were found to be the critical factors in controlling Cu electromigration reliability. The adhesion of the Cu/cap interface can be directly correlated to electromigration median-time-to-failure and activation energy. Effects of layout geometrical variation and stress current direction were also investigated.Item type:Item, First-order analysis of a three-lens afocal zoom system(1997-04-01) ;Yeh, MS ;Shiue, SG ;Lu, MH ;交大名義發表光電工程學系A general analysis for the first-order design of a three-lens afocal zoom system with one lens fixed is presented. The reasonable solution areas in the focal length diagrams with positive or negative magnification are derived and shown graphically. The relation between the two separations of the three lenses in zooming is found to be a hyperbola. According to the different locations of hyperbola centers, four cases are analyzed. From the four hyperbolic graphs, we get five different types of zoom systems. For each zoom type, we find the maximum range of magnification and the position where the maximum or minimum system length occurs during zooming. The zoom loci for the first or second lens fixed are also discussed. The reasonable solution areas in the focal length diagrams are derived and shown graphically. The relation between the separation of the two front lenses and the image distance of middle lens in zooming is found to be a hyperbola. According to the different locations of centre of hyperbola, four cases are analysed. From the four hyperbolic graphs, we get six different types of zoom system. For each zoom type, we find the maximum range of focal length and the position where the maximum or minimum system length occurs during zooming.Item type:Item, First-order analysis of a two-conjugate zoom system(1996-11-01) ;Yeh, MS ;Shiue, SG ;Lu, MH ;光電工程學系Department of PhotonicsA general analysis for the first-order design of the two-conjugate zoom system, which consists of three lenses and has a real or virtual image, is presented. The design formulas are derived. Of two-conjugate zoom systems, we analyze the solution areas in the system parameter diagrams under two particular initial conditions in which the object/image and pupil magnifications of the middle lens are taken to be 1 and -1 or -1 and 1. Two design methods are proposed. Several examples are given to demonstrate the proposed design procedures. We also present a method for dealing with the completeness of the constructed fuzzy decision trees. Based on the generated fuzzy rules, we also present a method for estimating null values in relational database systems. The proposed methods provide a useful way to estimate null values in relational database systems.Item type:Item, Generating fuzzy rules from relational database systems for estimating null values(1997-12-01) ;Chen, SM ;Yeh, MS ;交大名義發表 ;資訊工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityThis paper presents a new algorithm for constructing fuzzy decision trees from relational database systems and generating fuzzy rules from the constructed fuzzy decision trees. We find the solution ranges of system parameters with the conditions in which the object/image and pupil magnifications of the middle lens are taken to be 1 and -1 or -1 and 1, and the system magnification is 1 or -1 at the mean position of zooming. Several examples are given to demonstrate this analysis. The defects in the reference lens that are primarily due to the manufacturing errors or the assembly errors or both will result in the common focus error of reference lens at the centre of curvature of reference surface, which affects the measurement accuracy. The optical path difference between the reference wave front and the test wave front at the exit pupil is applied to analyse the influence of common focus error of reference lens on the measurement errors. A comparison of the experimental result with the numerical analysis is made.Item type:Item, The sensitivity of the common focus error of a reference lens on the measurement accuracy in a Fizeau interferometer(1997-01-01) ;Yeh, MS ;Shiue, SG ;Lu, MH ;光電工程研究所Institute of EO EnginerringA technique used to examine the performance of reference lens of interferometer is described.
