dc.description.abstract「衣冠南渡」的論述,在客家研究裡,有著不同的說法。我雖不從研究此一論述的「是與否」,來回應客家學研究上的大哉問。但我關心從客家家族的知識、(家庭、家族或地方)教育及人觀,並以此探索客家的社會性及其與地方社會的關聯,實也以特定的方式,對「衣冠南渡」的論述進行某種解釋---在家庭、家族、地方教育的行動裡,客家如何經由再現及傳承其所認定的或想像的儒家文明、漢文明、國家或地方文明化等理想,並由此與其所建構的某種展現客家社群特性的社會生活?此三年期的研究計劃,即在通過北台灣二個說客語的地方菁英家族:鳳山溪流域的陳朝綱家族,與中港溪流域的陳春龍家族的家庭教育,進行歷史民族誌研究。通過描述及解釋,探討「知識」及「人」的教育,如何在這兩個特定家族的日常及儀式脈絡裡,經由概念、行動及言說表達。並探究家庭、家族、地方的教育,與客家對「人」的理想,社群特性的認同、維繫及變動,地方社會的建立、維繫及變遷之間的關聯。在三年研究期程裡,我擬結合民族誌及歷史研究,經由半結構訪談、生命史訪談等口述材料,書信、字據等古文書,家族史料、地方文人筆記及詩文稿、家譜、淡新檔案等公私文書,探討自19世紀清代台灣社會,延續至90年代的兩個北台灣客家家族史,所再現的知識、教育、人觀及其變遷。 關鍵詞:知識、人觀、教育、家族、地方社會zh_TW
dc.description.abstractThe emphasis of this subproject is on family knowledge. Using two cases—two Chen families(the Chen Chau Gang Family in Fong San River and the Chen Chun Long Family in Zhong Gang River)—the specific emphasis is upon how different knowledge stressed in different families produces distinctive senses of person. The first family emphasized land opening and commerce degrees. The second family also emphasized land opening and commerce, but differed in a family tradition of astrology and a local academy. The astrological knowledge also produced income and the local academy stressed Confucian learing. The difference between the two families is the former's almost exclusive emphasis upon economic and political power versus the latter's emphasis including broader Confucian learning.
