Item type:Item, A CMOS bandgap reference circuit for sub-1-V operation without using extra low-threshold-voltage device(2005-11-01) ;Kew, MD ;Chen, JS ;Chu, CY ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsA new sub-1-V CMOS bandgap voltage reference without using low-threshold-voltage device is presented in this paper. The new proposed sub-1-V bandgap reference with startup circuit has been successfully verified in a standard 0.25-mu n CMOS process, where the occupied silicon area is only 177 pm x 106 pm. The experimental results have shown that, with the minimum supply voltage of 0.85 V, the output reference voltage is 238.2 mV at room temperature, and the temperature coefficient is 58.1 ppm/degrees C from - 10 degrees C to 120 degrees C without laser trimming. Under the supply voltage of 0.85 V, the average power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) is -33.2dB at 10 kHz.Item type:Item, New curvature-compensation technique for CMOS bandgap reference with sub-1-v operation(2005) ;Ker, MD ;Chen, JS ;Chu, CY ;電機學院College of Electrical and Computer EngineeringA new sub-1-V curvature-compensated CMOS bandgap reference, which utilizes the temperature-dependent currents generated from the parasitic NPN and PNP BJT devices in CMOS process, is presented. The new proposed sub-1-V curvature-compensated CMOS bandgap reference has been successfully verified in a standard 0.25-mu m CMOS process. The experimental results have verified that, at the minimum supply voltage of 0.9 V, the output reference voltage is 536.7 mV with a temperature coefficient of 19.55 ppm/degrees C from 0 degrees C to 100 degrees C. With 0.9-V supply voltage, the measured power noise rejection ratio is -25.5 dB at 10 kHz.Item type:Item, Synthesis of activity probes for beta-xylosidase(2006-04-01) ;Lo, LC ;Chu, CY ;Lin, FA ;Pan, YRLi, YKDue to their industrial interest and significance, developing a rapid method for screening beta-xylosidase activities would certainly facilitate the research and improve production in xylan-related industries especially in the pulp and paper industries. Here we report the synthesis of two activity probes, LCL-6X and -12X, for beta-xylosidase. They both carry a beta-xylopyranosyl recognition head, which is linked to a latent trapping device consisting of a 2-fluoromethylphenoxyl group and a biotin reporter group. They differ only in the length of their hydrophobic linker. A model study using a beta-xylosidase from T koningii demonstrates that both probes could successfully label the target hydrolase and give rise to biotinylated proteins. They could thus potentially become a powerful tool in screening beta-xylosidase from microbial sources.
