Item type:Item, Carbon nanotubes as affinity probes for peptides and proteins in MALDI MS analysis(2004-11-01) ;Chen, WY ;Wang, LS ;Chiu, HT ;Chen, YCLee, CYRecently, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been reported to be an effective MALDI matrix for small molecules Anal. Chem 2003, 75, 6191). In a somewhat related study, we have employed CNTs produced by using NaH-treated anodic aluminum oxide (Na@AAO) as a reactive template as the assisting matrix for MALDI analysis upon the addition of high concentrations of citrate buffer. Our results indicate that the mass range can be extended to ca. 12,000 Da and that alkali metal adducts of analytes are effectively reduced. Furthermore, we have employed citric acid-treated CNTs as affinity probes to selectively concentrate traces of analytes from aqueous solutions. High concentrations of salts and surfactants in the sample solutions are also tolerated. This approach is very suitable for the MALDI analysis of small proteins, peptides, and protein enzymatic digest products. The as-produced material, Na@AAO, is applied as a reactive template to prepare other tubular materials. Reacting Na@AAO with gaseous C6Cl6 generates carbon nanotubes (ca. 250 nm, wall thickness of 20 nm, tube length of 60 mum) inside the AAO channels. Highly aligned bundles of nearly amorphous carbon nanotubes are isolated after AAO is removed.Item type:Item, Rapid thermal chemical vapor deposition of in-situ nitrogen-doped polysilicon for dual gate CMOS(1995) ;Sun, SC ;Wang, LS ;Yeh, FL ;Chen, CH奈米中心Item type:Item, Rapid thermal chemical vapor deposition of nitrogen-doped polysilicon for high-performance and high-reliability CMOS technology(1995) ;Sun, SC ;Wang, LS ;Yeh, FL ;電機學院College of Electrical and Computer EngineeringItem type:Item, SiCl3CCl3 as a novel precursor for chemical vapor deposition of amorphous carbon films(2003) ;Chang, YH ;Wang, LS ;Chiu, HT ;Lee, CY應用化學系Amorphous carbon films, characterized by XRD, AFM, SEM and Raman, were deposited from SiCl3CCl3 on quartz substrates at 773-1273 K by low pressure chemical vapor deposition using a hot-wall reactor. XPS studies showed that the films brown at 773 K contained 90% C and 10% Cl, while the films grown at 1273 K contained 100% C. SiCl4, CCl4 and Cl2C=CCl2 were detected by on-line FT-IR studies. The extrusion of dichlorocarbene, :CCl2, from SiCl3CCl3 should provide the source of carbon in the reaction. On Si substrates, an etching process at the film-substrate interface assisted the lift-off of the films from the substrates. The C films curled and formed rolls. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. TEM images show that the structure is graphite-like, with the layers arranged perpendicular to the long axis of the rods. The average rod size is 0.3 x 6 5 mm. The larger ones are 1 x 10 mum. The ratio of graphite-like to disordered carbon atoms, determined by solid-state C-13 NMR, is 1:1.Item type:Item, Tetrahydrofuran activation assisted synthesis of nanosized lithium niobate and lithium tantalate(2006-04-01) ;Chien, CH ;Chang, YH ;Tsai, CP ;Peng, CWWang, LSBlack solid precursors obtained from reactions between MCl5 (M = Nb, Ta) and alkyllithiums, n-butyllithium ((BuLi)-Bu-n) and ethyllithium (EtLi), in tetrahydrofuran (THF) were heat treated under vacuum at 673-973 K to form nano-sized particles (20-100 nm in diameter) of lithium niobate (LiNbO3) and lithium tantalate (LiTaO3). Stoichiometry of the reactants is critical and affects the phases of the products. Based on the volatile byproducts detected, a reaction pathway involving the activation of THF by alkyllithiums is proposed to be important for the formation of LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 precursors.
