Item type:Item, On the Surface Wave Diffraction by a Step(1969-04) ;郭南宏Nan-Hung KuoA modified procedure of the Wiener-Hopf technique is developed, and used to determine the transmitted and reflected fields of a surface wave which is normally incident upon the junction of two semi-infinite planes joined together by a step of height a.Both planes have normalized reactance X , and the step surface has X0 .Reduction of the transmission loss at the step by increasing X0 is shown to be possible. The relation between edge condition and uniqueness of solution along with field behaviors at the corners of the step are fully investigated. A comparison between the present procedure and the residue cancellation is made.Item type:Item, Silicon p-i-n Photodetector Using Internal Reflection Method(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;李漢生 ;施敏 ;H.S.LeeS.M.SzeA semiconductor photodetector is proposed which makes use of an internal reflection method to enhance the photoresponse. This method is to let the incident light be multiple-reflected in the detector so that a long distanse is traveled and most of the photon energy is absorbed by the detector. The photodetector is particularly useful in detection of light with wavelengths near the instrinsic absorption edge. Theoretical analysis of photoresponse for a p-i-n pphotodetector is presented. Both the steady-state and time-dependent responses are derived; and the two important limiting cases with zero and infinite surface recombination velicities are taken as examples to illustrate the photoresponse. The photodetectors are fabricated from 4,000Ω-cm, n-type, <111>oriented silicon wafers. Both sides of the wafer are polished with one side inclined half degree with respect to the other. The p+n junction and the ohmic contact are formed by alloy method. The measured photoresponses for wavelengths of 1.0 um and 1.1 um (with absorption coefficients of 100 cm-1 and 3 cm-1 respectively) are in reasonable agreement with the theoretical prediction.Item type:Item, A New Light in Nerve Theory(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;魏凌雲Ling Y. WeiThe most recent discoveries of negative fixed surface charge, infra-red emission and birefringence change in nerves strongly suggest the important role of surface dipoles on axon membrane in nerve mechanisms.Item type:Item, On the Minimization of the Number of Internal States in Incompletely Specified Sequential Machines(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;楊超植 ;馮慶深 ;C.C.YangH.S.FungThe algorithm of a systematic minimization method givrn in this paper uses tree idea for generating all compatibility classes and uses Meisel's tree display to produce all possible minimal solutions of a given incompletely specified sequential machine. An example is given for illustration.Item type:Item, Interface Study of Metal-Semiconductor Systems(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;張俊彥 ;施敏 ;C.Y.ChangS.M.SzeInterface effect and carrier transport in metal-semiconductor systems have been studied theoretically and experimentally to give a generalized and quantitative presentation. TheItem type:Item, A Generalized Technique in the Solutions of Some Diffraction Problems Concerning Dielectric Wedges(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;郭南宏Nan-Hung KuoA modified technique in dealing with the generalized Wiener-Hopf equations is presented. The basic procedure is to apply the topological concept, by which a transform equation is reduced without performing product factorization to a set of matrix equations. Moreover, the theory of distribution is applied to simplify the problem formulation. A new theorem concerning additive decomposition is deduced and used to verify the authenticity of the method are discussed. In this paper an example, diffraction of a plane wave by a right-angled dielectric wedge, is included to illustrate the application of the method.Item type:Item, A Study on the High Energy Ballistics(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;陳煦Hsu ChenThe purpose of this study is twofolds : to present systematically the development of such dynamics of motion as related to the external ballistics of long-range missiles, and to construct a gunnery table for the firing angle, angular range, altitude and flight time for firing velocities approaching the satellite region. The importance of this study is to treat the falling body problem as the motion which relates the transition from bound state to free state , and therefrom to calculate the firing angle and range as well as the time of flight in terms of the firing velocity. The scope of this study is limitted to the discussion under the following assumption, that the burn-out time for energizing the projectile is small compared to flight time, thatt the dissipative effect is ignored , that the spheroidalsphape of the earth and its nonuniform density is neglected, and that the coriolis force is not considered.Item type:Item, Reflection and Transmission of Electromagnetic Waves on the Boundary between Isotropic and Anisotropic Media(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;張丹Tan ChangThe problems of reflection and transmission on a plane boundary between an isotropic medium and anisotropic medium are investigated in various cases with different directions of the static magnetic field relative to the orientation of the boundary surface. Both plasma and ferrite media are included with a unified point of view. The coefficients of reflection and transmission are obtained by finding the input wave impedances of the anisotropic medium in the direction normal to the boundary.Item type:Item, Negative Differential Resistance in Reserve-Biased Metal-Semiconductor Systems(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;張俊彥 ;黃政雄 ;施敏 ;C.Y.ChangC.H.HuangItem type:Item, The Triangular Line Antenna(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;章傑 ;陳榮淦 ;Chieh ChangYung-Gunn ChenIn this paper, a new form of endfore, traveling wave antenna, is described in the form of a triangular line with a corner reflector. It consists of a conductor folded into elements each of which is an equilateral triangular loop with the length of the side larger than one half wave length. The radiation patterns are measured at X-band. The endfire radiation exists over a bandwidth of approximately 21 per cent with a sidelobe level better than 20 db for 3-loops. The half power beamwidth ranges approximately from 5°.1 to 7°.5 for 5-loops.Item type:Item, Analysis of Linear Control Systems with Transpsort Lage(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;陳永國 ;韓光渭 ;Y.K.ChenK.W.HanA control system, contacting a transport lag is usually difficult for analysis, due to the existence of a transcedental function in the system characteristic equation. Yaohan Chu had presented a phase- angle- loci method, but it becomes increasingly difficult for higher order systems.(1)Eisenberg had given a fairly nice method, but it has been applied only to systems containing one transport lag.(2) In this paper , the root locos method is applied to the analysis of linear control systems with transport lags. The basic approach is to use the special property of zero-order holding circuit to represent a linear control system with transport lag by an equivalent sampled-data control system, then the system stability is analyzed in Z-domain using root-locus method.Item type:Item, On Asymmetrical Derivates of Non-Differentiable Function(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;楊翠華Tsui-Hwa YangItem type:Item, Temperature Dependence of Ionization Rates in GaAs(交大學刊編輯委員會, 1969-04) ;張義昭 ;施敏 ;Y.J.ChangS.M.SzeThe ionization rate is one of the most important material parameters of semiconductors. Its temperature dependence has profound effect on the avalanche breakdown voltage of p-n junctions and on the operational characteristics of many semiconductor devices including IMPATT diodes and avalanche photodetectors (1). The ionization rates of electrons and holes in GaAs are measured here in over the temperature range 77°K to 373°K using photomultiplication method. The results are then compared with the modified Baraff theory(2,3), in order to establish a functional dependence of the ionization rate on temperature.Item type:Item, Synthesis of Aliphatic Amides through a Photoredox Catalyzed Radical Carbonylation Involving Organosilicates as Alkyl Radical Precursors(1970-01-01) ;Cartier, Alex ;Levernier, Etienne ;Dhimane, Anne-Lise ;Fukuyama, TakahideOllivier, CyrilAlkyl radicals, from primary to tertiary, formed by photocatalyzed oxidation of organosilicates, are involved efficiently in radical carbonylation with carbon monoxide (CO), in the presence of various amines and CCl4, leading to a variety of amides in moderate to good yields. Item type:Item, Rational Tuning of Molecular Interaction and Energy Level Alignment Enables High-Performance Organic Photovoltaics(1970-01-01) ;Wang, Rui ;Yuan, Jun ;Han, Guangchao ;Huang, TianyiHuang, WenchaoThe performance of organic photovoltaics (OPVs) has rapidly improved over the past years. Recent work in material design has primarily focused on developing near-infrared nonfullerene acceptors with broadening absorption that pair with commercialized donor polymers; in the meanwhile, the influence of the morphology of the blend film and the energy level alignment on the efficiency of charge separation needs to be synthetically considered. Herein, the selection rule of the donor/acceptor blend is demonstrated by rationally considering the molecular interaction and energy level alignment, and highly efficient OPV devices using both-fluorinated or both-nonfluorinated donor/acceptor blends are realized. With the enlarged absorption, ideal morphology, and efficient charge transfer, the devices based on the PBDB-T-F/Y1-4F blend and PBDB-T-F/Y6 exhibit champion power conversion efficiencies as high as 14.8% and 15.9%, respectively. Item type:Item,
