This paper presents some results on the transformation of a certain class of time-varying systems.It is shown that by successive application of algebraic transformation and t ←→τtransformation , the linaer time varying system can be reduced to a linear time-invariant one.

In a continuous production process,samples of the products are taken and inspacted at regular time intervals.A statistic of each sample is plotted on a chart to control the production process.In many cases, the inspection of one attribute X of the product is too costly(e.g. destructive inspection), and one would try to take a less costly but less reliable inspection of another attribute Y of the product . This paper tries to answer the question that under what conditions this new attribute Y should be inspected. A simple Markov model for the production process is presented and the cost factors including cost of a defective, cost of inspection and cost of taking corrective action are considered.An approximate relationship between two different inspection costs corresponding to X and Y is found when both inspections are under optimal inspection schemes.

We investigate a general commercial fishing model in this paper. The results imply that fishing capital investiment is non-explosive and fishery resources are non-extinctive.

A normalized inpedance Ẑs is obtained for as array of resistive stripes illuminated obliquely by a plane waves having its magnetic vector normal to the plane of incidence and perpendicular to the stripes.It is found that Ẑs is composed of a partial impedance Ẑs1 similar to the perfectly conducting striped-grid plus another partial impedance Ẑs2 which is account for the effect of the stripe resistance.For the case of interest,s<<λ,wheres is the stripe spacing, it is found that 2 is linearly proportional to the stripe resistance, the aspect ratio and is nearly indepent of frequency in contrast to Ẑs1 which is proportional to s/λ.

In business income tax computation the items list in the tax return form are mostly recorded at consecutive equally-spaced time instants. Linear stochastic models are found to be appropriate to fit these items.Firstly, the data has to be converted into a proper form suitable for fitting. Then a procedure is used to find a model of the series.It involves the model identification,parameter estimation and model diagnostic evaluation.Finally, the model obtained is used to predict the future values of the series based on a minimum mean square error criterion.

The current-voltage characteristics of the p+n1n2p+ reach-through BARITT diode has been derived over the entire current range, by combining the thermionic injection effect at the injection junction and the space charge effect in the drift region. The characteristics are calculated for various doping densities ND1 and thicknesses Xs of the n1 layer. At low current injection levels, the current has the thermionic emission form, that is J~A*T^2exp((VFB2+VFB1(2?/X2*1)*V)^2/4VTVFB);at hogher current levels, the current has the space charge limited form, that is J~V.The d.c. conductance of both the p+n1n2p+ and the p+n2p+ structures are compared, and it is found that the slope of the J-V curve forthe p+n2p+structure is greater by the factor (ND1/ND2)^1/2 than that for the p+n1n2p+ structure

The effect of the depletion-region-width modulation has been included in the Quasi-static large signal calculations of the Lo-Hi-Lo double drift IMPATT diodes.In addition, a linear-generation-function model is introduced to give a comprehensive understanding of the phase advance and the power degradation effect of the diodes.The phase advance △Ø is derived versus of voltage modulation. The output power losses are also calculated as a function of voltage swing and compared with the uncorrected results. Efficiency as a function of avalavche-to frift-voltage ratio Va/Vd is obtained and Va/Vd≈1.0 is shown as the optimum condition for a double drift Lo-Hi-Lo diodes at 50% modulation .

We give an action integral L(x,X,Aμ,aμ). The stabilities of L against the variations δAμ(ξ),δaμ(ξ),δxμ(θ) and δXμ(τ),give us the coupled Maxwell equations and the Lorentz-Dirac equation for the positron and monopole.

Baylis and Hushilt pointed out that the Lorentz-Dirac equation with the usual constraint(ẍμ(τ)→0 as τ→∞) for physical solution, may permit two or more solutions to some problems. We impose another constriant to make the physical solution unique.

Following Dirac's approach, we treat the interaction of the material field with the gauge field as a constrained system and give the quantization rules for all field operation.We then show that these commutation rules lead to the Poincare algebra of four momenta and angular momenta and also give the geometric meaning of these commutation rules.
