當初之所以會加入交青社，只是因為社長是自己的好朋友，而交青社又正在緊急徵兵，所以我就帶著一顆懵懂未知的心成為交青社的正式社員，剛開始的時候，交青社的確是沒什麼事要做，只要固定的每個禮拜去開會就好了，但是厲害的才在後頭呢！
Magnetoresistance behavior of Ni layer under Cu film

The weak-localization effect is very sensitive to the presence of magnetic moments. We use it to study the formation of localized moments in thin Ni layers under a 100 Cu film. The Ni thickness varies between 0 and 4 Angstrom. We measured the magnetoresistance (MR) of these samples at temperatures ranging from 0.4 to 21 K. The magnetic field with the strength of up to 1 T, was applied normal to the film surface. We find that MR is more positive In samples with Ni underlayer than in Cu film. Comparing our results with the prediction of weak localization theory, the magnetic moment is detected only in Ni underlayers thicker than 2 Angstrom.
Non-d-wave superconducting induced by current in d-wave superconductors with mass anisotropy

Underlain by the Ginzburg-Landau theory of a d-wave superconductor with mass anisotropy lambda = m(x)/m(y), we derived the non-zero subsidiary order parameter induced by an external current. The amplitude of induced s-component depends on the amplitude and direction of the current. The extreme values appear in some specific conditions. Unlike the isotropic case, we find that the current density is not parallel to the wave vector except for lambda = 1.

Tighter error bounds and weighted error metrics for hierarchical radiosity

In this paper we first derive a tighter error bound on form factors as a subdivision criterion for the hierarchical radiosity algorithm. Such an error bound can reduce more unnecessary links and improve the performance of the hierarchical radiosity algorithm to meet a user-specified error tolerance. We then propose a weighted error metric in form factor computation such that more effort is automatically applied to shadow boundaries. Evaluating form factors along shadow boundaries with a higher degree of precision should enhance the quality of human perception. Using the proposed tighter error bound on the weighted error metric, we not only improve the performance but also increase the accuracy of the hierarchical radiosity algorithm. 終於熬過這世紀末的聖嬰年，走過了諸事不順的詭異。這該是一個普天同慶的新年。從九六年的狂牛症，去年初的口蹄疫，再來是目前正熱的禽流感。牛、豬、雞，一種種的飛禽走獸被人們殺光，那再來呢？也許諾亞方舟不遠矣！舊約聖經的記載，自諾亞方舟後，才有了後世人們一路百轉千迴的走來，直到現在的一日千里，真是讓人慶祝的諾亞方舟。

清大輻生所事件，震驚了整個社會。除了清大本身外，地緣關係最近的交大，算是受到最大的衝擊。或許有的同學因為這次的事件觸動個人的內心深處，久久無法從低潮的情緒中恢復，也或許有的同學因此而對自己的感情或友情產生懷疑與害怕，也可能有部分的同學對我們周遭的生活環境產生極度的不安全與恐慌感，諮商中心的老師們希望藉著這一篇文章談談我們的看法，也提供同學們有關兩性與人際交往的建議。
Effect of MgO addition on the electrical transport properties of highly Sb-doped BaTiO3 ceramics

BaTiO3 ceramics doped with Sb donors and Mg acceptors have been fabricated. The lattice constant ratio c/a and the Curie point T-c decrease with increasing Sb concentration. The minimum room temperature resistivity rho(min) of the codoped BaTiO3 occurs at a composition of 0.9 mole% Sb2O3-1 mole % MgO as compared to the literature reported rho(min) at 0.3 mole % antimony for the Sb2O3-doped BaTiO3. The Mg2+ ion acts as an acceptor in the BaTiO3 ceramics, which compensates the donor contribution from Sb3+ and shifts the doped-BaTiO3 semiconducting region to higher antimony content. The calculated donor concentration confirms the compensation effect of Mg acceptors over Sb donors. The temperature dependence of both barrier height and dielectric constant of specimens is discussed. (C) 1998 Chapman & Hall.

「天人研究社」正式成立於民國86年，其基本理念乃是秉承中國傳統的天人概念，道家的靜坐養息與現代的西式的觀念來重新定位自古傳承下來的固有價值。；熱舞社成立至今已有數年，當初是由一群狂愛熱舞的學長姐所創立的創社之初雖艱難，但數年來在所有社上幹部努力之下，社團無論在行政組織上人數規模上，及表演水準上皆能不斷的迅速成長，茁壯。
New findings of the electromagnetic response in superconductors

Based on the Ginzburg-Landau theory, two theoretical findings in the electromagnetic response of superconductors are described. First, we derive the most general linear response theory and then apply it to the charged super fluid regime, where the magnetic fluctuation is relevant. In particular, we show that a novel effect arises, in which the divergence of the conductivity tensor is suppressed by the diamagnetic susceptibilities. Secondly, we show that because of the approximated fourfold symmetry of the crystal lattice in high T-c cuprates, a non-vanishing Hall current can arise near Hc(2). This Hall current is non-linear and can become large to be observed if the applied electric field is large enough.
Threshold-based intra-video synchronization for multimedia communications

Multimedia communications often require intramedia synchronization for video data to prevent potential playout discontinuity while still retaining satisfactory playout throughput. In this paper, we propose a novel intra-video synchronization mechanism, called the Video Smoother, particularly suitable for low-end multimedia applications, such as video conferencing. Generally, the Video Smoother dynamically adopts various playout rates according to the number of frames in the playout buffer in an attempt to compensate for the delay jitter introduced from networks. In essence, if the number of frames in the buffer exceeds a given threshold (TH), the Smoother employs a maximum playout rate. Otherwise, the Smoother employs linearly or exponentially reduced rates to eliminate playout pauses resulting from the emptiness of the playout buffer. To determine optimal TH's achieving a minimum of playout discontinuity and a maximum of playout throughput under various bursty traffic, we propose an analytic model assuming incoming traffic following an Interrupted Bernoulli arrival Process (IBP). As a result, optimal TH's can be analytically determined resulting in superior playout quality under various arrivals and loads of networks. Finally, we display simulation results which demonstrate that, compared to the playout without intra-video synchronization (instant playout), the Video Smoother achieves superior smooth playout and compatible throughput.
