Item type:Item, Method for detection of manufacture defects(2005-09-13) ;Tseng ;Shian-Shyong ;Chen ;Wei-ChouWangA novel method for detection of manufacture defects is disclosed. The invented method is designed to discover root cause machine sets that cause defects in product manufactured in a process wherein a plurality of machines is involved. The method includes obtaining manufacture data that relate to manufacture of products in the manufacture process, generating a candidate list of machine set by analyzing the manufacture data wherein the machine set includes machines relative to defects in the products, and identifying root cause machine sets from the list of machine set wherein the root cause machine sets include machines highly related to the defects.Item type:Item, Method for fabricating nanometer gate in semiconductor device using thermally reflowed resist technology(2005-09-13) ;Chang ;Edward Y. ;LeeHuang-MingThe invention relates to a method for fabricating nanometer gate semiconductor device using thermally reflowed photoresist technology, comprising steps of (i) spin-coating two layers of photoresists on a substrate, where a bottom layer of photoresist is a polymeric photoresist having a lower sensitivity and a higher resolution, and a top layer of photoresist, is another polymeric photoresist having a higher sensitivity and a lower resolution, with respect to the electron beam; (ii) heating the photoresists for curing by way of using a hotplate; (iii) using photolithography in an electron beam direct writing manner to expose a pattern on the photoresists for forming a gate; (iv) using a developer and an etchant for developing and etching to form a recess on the gate; (v) plating a metallic layer on the recess of the gate using an electron gun evaporation technique; and (vi) removing the photoresists to obtain the gate, characterized in that after the etching of the recess of the gate, the photoresists are reflowed by using a hot plate heating manner within a predetermined period of time and temperature, such that the recess of the gate is formed with a nanometer-sized width.Item type:Item, Efficient periodically poled stoichiometric lithium tantalate optical parametric oscillator for the visible to near-infrared region(2005-09-15) ;Tu, SY ;Kung, AH ;Gao, ZD ;Zhu, SN光電工程學系A compact, efficient optical parametric oscillator (OPO) for the visible to near-infrared region based on periodically poled stoichiometric lithium tantalate pumped by a frequency-doubled multikilohertz Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is demonstrated. Up to 61% photon conversion with a 71% slope efficiency for photon conversion from 532 nm to the signal radiation was measured. We observed that the efficient conversion diminished the potential for photorefractive damage induced by the 532 am radiation in the crystal and made sustained operation of the OPO device possible. The corresponding growth behavior and photoluminescence properties of ZnO nanorods were analyzed. It was found that the ZnO nanorods are initially nucleated from the ZnO monolayer under the concave regions of the PS layers and preferentially grown along [0 0 0 1] direction. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) observation reveals that the ZnO nanorods tend to coalesce together with other adjacent nanorods to form a larger ZnO crystal in the later growth stage. The room-temperature photoluminescence spectra demonstrate that a stronger ultraviolet (UV) emission with a broad yellow emission around 575 nm was observed for the ZnO nanorods grown on the organic substrates and the relative intensity ratio of ultraviolet emission to yellow emission depends on the growth periods of time. This simple approach demonstrates great potential for optoelectronic devices because it can produce large-scale highly well-aligned ZnO nanorods on the flexible organic substrates at lower temperatures. Nano-sized titanium dioxide particles have a higher specific surface area and, hence, potentially higher trapping capacities toward phosphopeptides than do microsized particles. Thus, in this study, we employed TiO2-coated magnetic (Fe3O4/TiO2 core/shell) nanoparticles to selectively concentrate phosphopeptides from protein digest products. Because of their magnetic properties, the Fe3O4/TiO2 core/shell nanoparticles that are conjugated to the target peptides can be isolated readily from the sample solutions by employing a magnetic field. In this paper, we also demonstrate that the Fe3O4/TiO2 core/ shell nanoparticles behave as an effective SALDI matrix: our upper detectable mass limit was similar to 24 000 Da, whereas the detection limit for peptides was in the low-femtomole range. That is to say, the target analytes trapped by the Fe3O4/TiO2 nanoparticles can be identified by introducing the particles directly into the mass spectrometer for TiO2-SALDI-MS analysis without the need for any further treatment. For example, elution steps are not necessary when using this approach. In addition, the trapping selectivity of these Fe3O4/TiO2 nanoparticles toward phosphopeptides was quite good. These properties combine to result in the low detection limits. The lowest detectable concentration of phosphopeptides that we analyzed using this approach was 500 pM for a 100-mu L tryptic digest solution of beta-casein; this level is much lower than that which can be obtained using any other currently available method.Item type:Item, Method for inter-cluster communication that employs register permutation(2005-09-15) ;Jen, Chein-Wei ;Lin, Tay-Jyi ;Lee, Chen-Chia ;Chang, Chin-ChiLiu, Chih-WeiThe present invention is a method for inter-cluster communication that employs register permutation by dynamically mapping the registers to the functional units. Because only the mapping between registers and functional units is changed and no actual data movement occurs, the present invention greatly diminishes the power consumption. Owing to the inter-cluster communication mechanism, a centralized register file can be replaced with small register sub-blocks, where the silicon area is greatly reduced, and the access time and the power consumption are also diminished.Item type:Item, 管管作品三首(2005-09-15)管管Item type:Item, Direct generation of a 10 GHz 816 fs pulse train from an erbium-fiber soliton laser with asynchronous phase modulation(2005-09-15) ;Hsiang, WW ;Lin, CY ;Tien, MF ;Lai, YC光電工程學系By employing the technique of asynchronous mode locking, we have successfully demonstrated direct generation of stable 10 GHz 816 fs pulse trains with a supermode-suppression ratio > 70 dB from a hybrid mode-locked Er-fiber laser. When the modulation frequency deviates from the cavity harmonic frequency by 15-40 kHz, stable femtosecond soliton pulses are formed. Our results demonstrate that asynchronous mode locking can act as an effective mechanism for achieving a shorter pulse width and for stabilizing high-repetition-rate pulse trains in soliton fiber lasers. By calculating the transmittance at output end of SWG, we find that the designed structures possess the merits of high coupling efficiency and relaxing fabricating tolerance. The maximal transmittance exceeds 90% at a wavelength near 1.65 mu m. The high transmission efficiency of PPCHWGs can be achieved without introducing any defect structures for optimal mode matching. Besides, the width of PPCHWGs can be flexibly adjusted via changing the separation of two component PCs in PC heterostructures. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. We have developed an immunoassay using antibody-conjugated magnetic nanoparticles as an efficient affinity probe to simultaneously preconcentrate and isolate targeted antigens from biological media. We combined this probe with matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI MS) to profile proteins in diluted human plasma. The nanoparticles were designed to detect several disease-associated proteins and could be used directly in MALDI MS without an elution step, thereby facilitating multiple antigen screening and the characterization of antigen variants. Plasma antigens bound rapidly (similar to 10 min) to the antibody-conjugated nanoparticles, allowing the assay to be performed within 20 min. With sensitivity of detection in the femtomole range, the nanoscale immunoassay is superior to assays using microscale particles. We applied our method to comparative protein profiling of patients with gastric cancer and healthy individuals and found differential protein expression levels associated with the disease as well as individuals. Given the flexibility of manipulating functional groups on the nanoprobes, their low cost, robustness, and simplicity of the assay, our approach shows promise for targeted proteome profiling in clinical settings.Item type:Item, Method and apparatus for interframe wavelet video coding(2005-09-15) ;Tsai, Sam S. ;Hang, Hsueh-Ming ;Tsai, Chia-YangChiang, TihaoThe present invention provides a method and apparatus for interframe wavelet video coding which comprises Motion Compensated Temporal Filtering and Discrete Wavelet Transform Coding to obtain: 1. compressed quantification error and scalability on temporal analysis and spatial analysis, and 2. scalability on Motion Information (MI) data so that the performance of wavelet video coding on low bitrate can be improved. A method for partitioned coding on MI is proposed: 1. to partitioned coding a motion vector according to the spatial block, the temporal frame, or the numeric precision; 2. to partition motion vectors to a plurality of layers, and, when the video bitstream changes, only the required MI is put into the final bitstream. Accordingly, the performance of wavelet video compression on low bitrate is greatly improved while the compression rate on high bitrate is only a little lower.Item type:Item, Welding flux for use in arc-welding of stainless steels, method of welding stainless steel members using the welding flux(2005-09-15) ;Chou, Chang-Pin ;Huang, Her-Yueh ;Shyu, Sheang-Wen ;Tseng, Kueng-HuengYang, Tsung-ChiehA welding flux for use in welding stainless steel parts to increase welding penetration, consisting essentially a base material obtained from manganese peroxide (MnO2), and an activator selected from a material group that includes zinc oxide (ZnO), silicon dioxide (SiO2), chromium oxide (CrO2), titanium dioxide (TiO2), molybdenum dioxide (MoO2), and iron oxide (Fe2O2).Item type:Item, Theories and algorithms for 3-D root canal model construction(2005-09-15) ;Dong, J ;Hong, SY ;Hasselgren, G ;機械工程學系Department of Mechanical EngineeringThis paper presents theories and algorithms for 3-D root canal model construction from 2-D X-ray images in a clinically practical way: (1) the geometrical rectification algorithm for correcting distorted 2-D X-ray images, (2) the transformation algorithms from 2-D X-ray image coordinate system to unified 3-D reference coordinate system, (3) the merging algorithms and theory for obtaining spatial root canal centerline by intersecting two surfaces with assumed parallel projection, and (4) the elliptical theory for exploring the root canal cross-sectional geometry. Using those theories and algorithms, three 3-D computer models constructed from teeth samples are presented to show the feasibility. The internal geometrical structure provided by 3-D computer graphics enables the clinician and the patient to comprehend root canal morphology efficiently, and the destructive access preparation before a clinician's inspection may be avoided during clinic practice.
