The present invention discloses a low-density high-toughness alloy and the fabrication method thereof. The alloy of the present invention consists essentially of: by weight percent, equal to or greater than 23% but lower than or equal to 33% manganese, equal to or greater than 8.1% but lower than or equal to 9.8% aluminum, equal to or greater than 3% but lower than or equal to 5.0% chromium, equal to or greater than 0.6% but lower than or equal to 1.2% carbon, equal to or greater than 0.1% but lower than or equal to 0.24% silicon and the balance of iron. The golf-club head made from the abovementioned alloy can obtain superior elongation, strength, damping capacity, and corrosion resistance even without any heat treatment, or any hot/cold working, such as forging and rolling; therefore, the fabrication cost thereof can be obviously reduced.

Method for growing non-polar m-plane epitaxial layer of wurtzite semiconductors on single crystal oxide substrates

The present invention relates to a method for growing a non-polar m-plane epitaxial layer on a single crystal oxide substrate, which comprises the following steps: providing a single crystal oxide with a perovskite structure; using a plane of the single crystal oxide as a substrate; and forming an m-plane epitaxial layer of wurtzite semiconductors on the plane of the single crystal oxide by a vapor deposition process. The present invention also provides an epitaxial layer having an m-plane obtained according to the aforementioned method.

The present invention discloses a tactile remote control system, which uses a processor to integrate the operation selection items of controlled devices and arrange the selection items into a graphic user interface, and which uses a microswitch to output instructions. The processor arranges the graphic user interfaces of a controlled device hierarchically. Therefore, the graphic user interfaces have organizationality, logicality and continuity. The user watches the display and operates the microswitches to remotely control the controlled devices. The present invention integrates the control functions to assist the user to control the daily-life electronic devices and household appliances. The present invention enables any one, who has been briefly instructed, to remotely control the linked devices by his will.

An address generation apparatus for a quadratic permutation polynomial (QPP) interleaver is provided. It comprises a basic recursive unit, and L recursive units represented by first recursive unit up to Lth recursive units. The apparatus inputs a plurality of configurable parameters according to a QPP function Π(i)=(f1i+f2i2) mod k, generates a plurality of interleaver addresses in serial via the basic recursive unit, and generates L groups of corresponding interleaver addresses via the first up to the Lth recursive units, wherein Π(i) is the i-th interleaver address generated by the apparatus, f1 and f2 are QPP coefficients, and k is information block length of an input sequence, 0≦i≦k−1.

A linker-attached tetrasaccharide corresponding to the linkage region of proteoglycans was synthesized via one-pot procedures from the silylated monosaccharide derivatives. Regioselective one-pot protection protocols were applied in generating the requisite monosaccharide building blocks whereas stereoselective one-pot glycosylation approaches were utilized to assemble the tetrasaccharide skeleton.

Palladium-catalyzed heteroannulation of N-substituted benzamides with [60]fullerene, which proceeds through direct sp(2) C-H bond activation to form 7-membered ring pallada-intermediate with C(60), led to formation of [60]fulleroisoquinolinones in moderate to good yields (8-64% based on recovered C(60)). A plausible reaction pathway is proposed.

The simple and efficient method was developed for the synthesis of benzimidazole linked quinoxalinones on soluble polymer support using microwave conditions. The acid catalyzed condensation of 4-fluoro-3-nitrobenzoic acid with polymer immobilized o-phenylenediamine, ipso-fluoro nucleophilic substitution with various primary amines and cyclization with acetyl chloride are the key steps involved in implemented linear synthesis. In key cyclization step, the regioselective N-acylation at secondary amine with chloroacetyl chloride followed by spontaneous intramolecular ring closure through ortho-amine functionality generate the quinoxaline skeleton under microwave irradiation. The removal of polymer support and exposure of quinoxalines for auto-oxidation finally produce the benzimidazole linked quinoxalinone derivatives with high purity and yields. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. Effect of coagulation mechanism on membrane permeability in coagulation-assisted microfiltration for spent filter backwash water recycling

Coagulation is an effective pre-treatment process in membrane filtration for recycling spent filter backwash water (SFBW). To optimize the operation of the coagulation/filtration process for SFBW recycling, it is important to understand the critical role of coagulation mechanism on membrane filtration. In this study, SFBW samples were coagulated with polyaluminum chloride (PACI), followed by a dead-end micro-filtration (MF), and the mean permeate flux and permeate quality were determined. The results showed that pre-coagulation improved the flux decline and the degree of the improvement was closely related to coagulation mechanisms. The permeate flux was enhanced most effectively by precipitation charge neutralization (PCN) coagulation, followed by charge neutralization and then sweep flocculation. Close examination of cake properties indicated that the reduced cake resistance (R(c)) was subjected to the coagulated SFBW flocs in response to different coagulation mechanism. Smaller flocs, induced by PCN, were more compact and stronger, forming less compressible cake, which facilitated membrane filtration, while slower membrane filtration was observed when more compressible cake formed from larger flocs of looser and weaker structure. Coagulation mechanism also governed the size distribution of SFBW floc, which is strongly related to the subsequent cake compressibility as well as membrane permeability in membrane filtration.
