RECONFIGURABLE SORTER AND METHOD OF SORTING

Disclosure is related to a reconfigurable sorter and a method of sorting using the sorter. The reconfigurable sorting method is adapted to the sorter essentially consisting of multiple serially-connected comparison units. The each comparison unit includes two registers. The sorter is particularly a reconfigurable device according to the number of sorted numerals. According to the exemplary embodiment, an input mode is initiated firstly. Initial values are set to the registers. The numerals are sequentially inputted to the registers. At the input mode, the values in the registers may be shifted if necessary and mutually compared in every comparison unit. The values in the registers of every comparison unit may be swapped based on the comparison. At output mode, the numerals are outputted sequentially. The values in the registers are shifted and swapped until all numerals are completely outputted. The output appears the sorted numerals with low timing latency.

In this study, we demonstrated experimentally that formation of chains and islands of oxygen vacancies in hafnium sub-oxides (HfOx, x < 2) leads to percolation charge transport in such dielectrics. Basing on the model of Efros-Shklovskii percolation theory, good quantitative agreement between the experimental and theoretical data of current-voltage characteristics was achieved. Based on the percolation theory suggested model shows that hafnium sub-oxides consist of mixtures of metallic Hf nanoscale clusters of 1-2 nm distributed onto non-stoichiometric HfOx. It was shown that reported approach might describe low resistance state current-voltage characteristics of resistive memory elements based on HfOx. (C) 2014 AIP Publishing LLC.

For the purpose of light extraction and efficiency enhancement, the nitride-based ultraviolet vertical-injection light-emitting diodes (UV-VLEDs) with non-insulation current blocking layer (n-CBL) and optimized textured surface were fabricated. The optical and electrical characteristics were investigated in this n-CBL UV-VLED. Furthermore, the efficiency of optimized structure was improved by 5 similar to 6 times compared to our reference.

A TFT-PIN array substrate and an assembly structure for a flat-panel x-ray detector are provided to overcome the problem that the conventional scintillator substrate and TFT-PIN array substrate are neither penetrated by UV-light nor assembled by UV curable LOCA. The metal layer of the PIN photodiode of the TFT-PIN array substrate is perforated to have at least one hole, whereby UV-light can pass through the TFT-PIN array substrate to cure UV curable LOCA. Therefore, UV curable LOCA can be used as an adhesive layer in the assembly structure of a scintillator substrate and a TFT-PIN array substrate to promote the detective quantum efficiency and image quality of a flat-panel X-Ray detector.

The present invention relates to a method for growing a novel non-polar (13 40) plane epitaxy layer of wurtzite structure, which comprises the following steps: providing a single crystal oxide with perovskite structure; using a plane of the single crystal oxide as a substrate; and forming a non-polar (13 40) plane epitaxy layer of wurtzite semiconductors on the plane of the single crystal oxide by a vapor deposition process. The present invention also provides an epitaxy layer having non-polar (13 40) plane obtained according to the aforementioned method.
A High-Quality Image Authentication Scheme for AMBTC-compressed Images

In this paper, we present a high-quality image authentication scheme based on absolute moment block truncation coding. In the proposed scheme, we use the parity of the bitmap (BM) to generate the authentication code for each compressed image block. Data hiding is used to authenticate whether the content has been altered or not. For image authentication, we embed the authentication code to quantization levels of each image block compressed by absolute moment block truncation coding (AMBTC) which will be altered when the host image is manipulated. The embedding position is generated by a pseudo-random number generator for security concerned. Besides, to improve the detection ability we use a hierarchical structure to ensure the accuracy of tamper localization. A watermarked image can be precisely inspected whether it has been tampered intentionally or incautiously by checking the extracted watermark. Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed scheme achieved high-quality embedded images and good detection accuracy, with stable performance and high expansibility. Performance comparisons with other block-based data hiding schemes are provided to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed scheme.

Most algorithmic composition system is implemented based on the input of music parameters, which needs professional music and technology training to complete the automated composition. This paper proposed an innovated way called Geographic and Meteorologic Data Sonification System (GMDSS), to perform the data mappings into music for various devices such as hand phone or other hand-hold devices, and the driver can retrieve the environment information in real time to let people concentrate on driving without the need of paying attention to the long-term complicated data visualization. The mapping relationship between geographic/meteorologic data and music features is discussed, and the result shows the implementation of GIS and weather data which can compose the proper correspondent music accordingly.
