Since 1975, the numbers of Vietnamese living in Europe have steadily increased. As new emigrants appeared in various countries, new types of crime came with them. Also in the Czech Republic, where a relatively large Vietnamese diaspora has been in existence since communist times, numerous Vietnamese criminal networks were established. The Vietnamese networks have a specific structure and modus operandi. Their bosses create parallel power structures within the Vietnamese diaspora and frequently merge together legal and illegal activities. The Vietnamese criminal networks are engaged in a broad spectrum of criminal activities, including economic crime, people smuggling and trafficking in drugs.
Electro-photocatalytic Fenton Decolorization of Orange G Using Mesoporous TiO2/stainless Steel Mesh Photo-Electrode Prepared by the Sol-Gel Dip-Coating Method

A photo-electrochemical process is a powerful and eco-friendly method for treating industrial wastewater. Electro-photocatalytic Fenton (EPF) was employed for orange G decolorization using two kinds of photo-electrodes with TiO2 film-coated stainless steel (SS) mesh. These photo-electrodes are prepared by a dip-coating method from the sol-gel-derived TiO2 sols incorporating with various amounts of P25+TiO2 powders (SGDC method). The single dip-coated electrode with the TiO2 sol containing 50 g/L P25 powders possesses similar crystallinity and decolorization performance to the four repetitive dip-coated electrodes with pure TiO2 sol. The kinetics of orange G decolorization using P25+TiO2 film electrode in photocatalytic (PC), electro-Fenton (EF) and EPF processes followed pseudo first-order kinetics model, and the EPF has the highest reaction rate. The efficiency of orange G decolorization achieves 78% via the EPF reaction for 3 h. The SGDC method using the TiO2 sol containing P25 powders not only enhances the TiO2 coating on the SS substrate, but also produces microcracks in the film, that facilitates the in-situ generation of ferrous ions and further induces the EPF reaction for an effective degradation of organic matter in wastewater.

本文為作者父親威廉周漢發（1913-1985）的傳記研究。周漢發是祖籍中國廣東省新安的客家人，生於砂拉越古晉，其雙親從廣東東莞移民至此。在當時砂拉越的社會歷史中，一般都將客家人聯想為鄉居、以務農為生，因而在昔日多處於邊緣地位。但受過中西教育薰陶的周漢發則選擇了另一條擔任公務員的職業生涯。這篇傳記探討周漢發的生平和事業，尤其是他在1946年至1963年砂拉越英國殖民統治時期的公務生涯。本文引述了家人記憶、口述歷史、文獻和相片等，來重建略窺周漢發的公務員生涯。周漢發於1968年退休後，成為古晉新安客家人的惠東安會館發起人之一，並於該會館1971年成立時擔任副主席。

Enhancement-mode AlGaN/GaN high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) were fabricated on a Si substrate by fluorine plasma treatment without pre-etching. The threshold voltage shifted from % 8 to 2.3 V, effectively converting the depletion-mode HEMT to the enhancement-mode HEMT. The leakage current was reduced by two orders of magnitude by CF4 plasma treatment. The device exhibited a superior performance with a maximum drain saturation current of 210mA/mm at V-GS = 10V and a peak gain of 44.1mS/mm. A low off-state gate leakage current of 10(-6)mA/mm, ION/IOFF ratio of approximately 10(8), and high breakdown voltage of 1480V were obtained. (C) 2016 The Japan Society of Applied Physics

Pseudo-Constant Switching Frequency in On-Time Controlled Buck Converter with Predicting Correction Techniques

The predicting correction technique (PCT) is proposed to achieve an adaptive on-time control for ripple-based buck converters. The switching frequency f(SW) variation is suppressed when the PCT technique considers complete parasitic resistances of the components and devices. Even without extra clock-controlled circuits and current sensing circuits, the buck converter operates with a nearly constant f(SW) over a wide load range. Parasitic resistances almost cause no influence and restriction on f(SW). Only input voltage is used to predict the adaptive on-time. Measurement results show only 0.32% in Delta f(SW) / f(SW) and 5.7 kHz/A in Delta f(SW) / Delta I-LOAD in case of 1.4 A load current change and f(SW) is 2.5 MHz. Consequently, a pseudo-constant f(SW) with well-defined noise spectrum strongly benefits the solution of electromagnetic interference (EMI) for system-on-a-chip (SoC) applications.

The impact of systematic risk on volatility skew is assessed in a CAPM-GARCH framework under which the relationship between asset price and market index adheres to the CAPM with each residual following an asymmetric GARCH process. From numerical analysis, we demonstrate that (1) the relation between beta and implied volatilities presents a beta smile; (2) beta can determine the shape of implied volatility curve, but systematic risk proportion (SRP) cannot; and (3) the degree of negative skewness and positive kurtosis is proportional to the SRP; however, a higher SRP does not always lead to a higher level of implied volatility. High-kappa cerium oxide (CeO2) was applied to AlGaN/GaN high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) as a gate insulator and a passivation layer by molecular beam deposition (MBD) for high-power applications. From capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurement results, the dielectric constant of the CeO2 film was 25.2. The C-V curves showed clear accumulation and depletion behaviors with a small hysteresis (20 mV). Moreover, the interface trap density (D-it) was calculated to be 5.5 x 10(11) eV(-1)cm(-2) at 150 degrees C. A CeO2 MOS-HEMT was fabricated and demonstrated a low subthreshold swing (SS) of 87 mV/decade, a high ON/OFF drain current ratio (I-ON/I-OFF) of 1.14 X 10(9), and a low gate leakage current density (J(leakage)) of 2.85 X 10(-9)Acm(-2) with an improved dynamic ON-resistance (R-ON), which is about one order of magnitude lower than that of a conventional HEMT. Cloud testing has become a crucial concern due to the explosion of cloud services and requirements of reliable and high-quality service. The technologies of virtualization and infrastructures of cloud services have enabled service providers to deploy their services conveniently. However, current test models decrease the flexibility of test scenarios and test client customization. For solving these problems, this study proposes a testing service in the cloud to help the testing environment generation, deployment and execution of test scenarios. The tester can customize test scenarios involving clients, network topologies, and test scripts. In the paper, a demonstration test toolkit was implemented, and also used for testing distributed file system with various numbers of hosts, threads, and virtual network topologies.
Application Performance Profiling in Android Dalvik Virtual Machines

Most Android applications are written in JAVA and run on a Dalvik virtual machine. For smartphone vendors and users who wish to know the performance of an application on a particular smartphone but cannot obtain the source code, we propose a new technique, Dalvik Profiler for Applications (DPA), to profile an Android application on a Dalvik virtual machine without the support of source code. Within a Dalvik virtual machine, we determine the entry and exit locations of a method, log its execution time, and analyze the log to determine the performance of the application. Our experimental results show an error ratio of less than 5% from the baseline tool Traceview which instruments source code. The results also show some interesting behaviors of applications and smartphones: the performance of some smartphones with higher hardware specifications is 1.5 times less than the phones with lower specifications. DPA is now publicly available as an open source tool.

砂拉越左翼的人民聯合黨成立的1959 年，一位17 哩平凡而意氣風發的青年入黨，隨後被捕，至1974 年和平協議終於讓牢裡的青年低頭，無奈失望地拋棄那「華人做頭」的砂拉越國族想像，回到17 哩的家鄉。本文聚焦於參與及經歷新村往事之地方人士心情之轉折，察覺其砂拉越國族認同儘管頓挫，但仍然牽動著砂拉越與馬來西亞之間的微妙關係。全文依順敘法，先簡述聚落史，其次描寫故事主人翁1960年代的反殖與反大馬地下武裝運動及被捕入獄的過程，再其次說明武裝運動所導致的強迫遷入新村並隔離的生活；最後則以17 哩等新村後來的發展反襯反抗者此刻依舊澎湃卻也滿腹無奈的矛盾心情，並據此討論砂拉越華人國族認同之頓挫與遺緒。
A highly sensitive and selective cyanide detection using a gold nanoparticle-based dual fluorescence-colorimetric sensor with a wide concentration range

In this study, a simple analytical system is presented for the detection of cyanide with a wide concentration range, which is respectively based on the fluorescent and colorimetric properties of gold nanoparticles. This dual-functional system can work directly for aqueous medium and expand efficiently a wide detection range over three orders of magnitudes for cyanide determination. By using the fluorescence method, the lowest concentration for quantification of cyanide ions is 1.0 x 10(-7) M, and the sensitivity is good enough for the determination of cyanide in drinking water. To recognize higher concentration of cyanide for industrial sewage monitoring, the colorimetric behavior can be used as an alternating tool for field tests from naked eye. The system also provides an excellent selectivity toward cyanide over other common interfering anions and metal ions, thus enabling the ability to monitor cyanide contamination in environmental samples. Furthermore, several real water samples spiked with cyanide, including local tap water, drinking water, lake water, and sea water, were analyzed, and the experimental results demonstrated that this sensing system exhibited excellent recoveries for these practical water samples. Our attempt may provide a cost-effective, rapid and simple solution for the recognition and determination of different levels of cyanide contamination in aqueous samples. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. Inner engraving for the creation of a balanced LEGO sculpture

LEGO is a globally popular toy composed of colorful interlocking plastic bricks that can be assembled in many ways; however, this special feature makes designing a LEGO sculpture particularly challenging. Building a stable sculpture is not easy for a beginner; even an experienced user requires a good deal of time to build one. This paper provides a novel approach to creating a balanced LEGO sculpture for a 3D model in any pose, using centroid adjustment and inner engraving. First, the input 3D model is transformed into a voxel data structure. Next, the model\'s centroid is adjusted to an appropriate position using inner engraving to ensure that the model stands stably. A model can stand stably without any struts when the center of mass is moved to the ideal position. Third, voxels are merged into layer-by-layer brick layout assembly instructions. Finally, users will be able to build a LEGO sculpture by following these instructions. The proposed method is demonstrated with a number of LEGO sculptures and the results of the physical experiments are presented.
