Item type:Item, Synergistic Effect of Hydrogenation and Thiocyanate Treatments on Ag-Loaded TiO2 Nanoparticles for Solar-to-Hydrogen Conversion(2017-05-11) ;Wang, T. T. ;Raghunath, P. ;Lin, Y. G. ;Lin, M. C.應用化學系分子科學碩博班H-2 evolution rate enhanced by Ag-loading on 25 nm TiO2 anatase nanopatticles (denoted as Ag/TiO2), Ag-loaded on hydrogenated TiO2 NPs (Ag/H:TiO2), as well as by the treatment of both NPs with potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) solution have been systematically investigated in conjunction with quantum-chemical-calculations and XANES and EXAFS analyses with synchrotron radiation. We have observed a cumulative enhancement effect of these fabrication processes on solar to;hydrogen A To(STH) conversion using a. simulating light source, Ag/TiO2 shows an enhanced visible absorption with 4-5 tiine increase in H-2 evolutioh over that of TiO2 or H:TiO2 prepared under mild hydrogenation conditions, while Ag/H:TiO2 exhibits an even greater UV visible absorption, similar to that of Ag/H:TiO2 with 3.1 times higher STH than that of Ag/TiO2. The treatment of Ag/TiO2 and Ag/H:TiO2 NPs With 0.1 mM KSCN solution, further increases:their STHs by 3.6 and 2.8 times, respectively. Optimization of KSCN concentration up to 02 mM gave [H-2] production rate rise to 2.75 mmol h(-1) g(-1) under Xe lamp illumination for the AgSCN/H:TiO2 system, which has also been tested for its durability, showing a notable robustness. The observed synergistic effect of TiO2 hydrogenation and SCN treatment of the Ag/H:TiO2 NPs has been corroborated by the results of quantum chemical elucidation of H2 production mechanism and the photocatalytic effects of Ag/H:TiO2 and AgSCN/H:TiO2 NPs revealed by appearances of new sub-band states within the TiO2 bandgap, as well as by the result of XANES and EXAFS analyses which support the electron pulling effect of the SCN group attached to Ag. Finally, we have also compared the efficacies of H-2, HCOOH, and CH3OH as hydrogenation sources at 300 degrees C and the efficacies of CH3OH, C2H5OH, and sucrose as sacrificial agent to facilitate the separation of the electron from the hole.Item type:Item, ONE-DIMENSIONAL TITANIUM NANOSTRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME(2017-05-11) ;Tze-Lung Chen ;Hsin-Tien ChiuChi-Young LeeA one-dimensional titanium nanostructure and a method for fabricating the same are provided. A titanium metal reacts with titanium tetrachloride to form the one-dimensional titanium nanostructure on a heat-resistant substrate in a CVD method and under a reaction condition of a reaction temperature of 300-900° C., a deposition temperature of 200-850° C., a flow rate of the carrier gas of 0.1-50 sccm and a reaction time of 5-60 hours. The titanium nanostructure includes titanium nanowires, titanium nanobelts, flower-shaped titanium nanowires, titanium nanorods, titanium nanotubes, and titanium-titanium dioxide core-shell structures. The titanium nanostructure can be densely and uniformly grown on the heat-resistant substrate. The present invention neither uses a template nor uses the complicated photolithographic process, solution preparation process, and mixing-coating process. Therefore, the process scale-up, cost down, and the simplified production process are achieved.Item type:Item, OPTICALLY VISUALIZED ANTI-COUNTERFEITING ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED APPARATUS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF(2017-05-11) ;Wen-Chieh LINMu-Tien LUAn optically visualized anti-counterfeiting electronic integrated apparatus includes a housing, light sources and spectroscopic structures. Progresses have been made in developing novel fluorescent probes to detect peroxynitrite with relatively high sensitivity and specificity. Herein, we report the synthesis, characterization and biological applications of a new boronate-based fluorescent probe, 4-MB. The studies showed that 4-MB exhibits a dual ratiometric and calorimetric response toward peroxynitrite due to ONOO--triggered oxidative reaction. A possible mechanism of the oxidation reaction was proposed and the reaction product was isolated and characterized using different spectroscopic methods. We have thoroughly demonstrated the utility of 4-MB for intracellular peroxynitrite imaging. Further, we showed that 4-MB can be potentially employed to visualize exogenous and endogenous peroxynitrite in RAW264.7 macrophages, EAhy926 cells, zebrafish and in live tissues from a high-fat diet-induced obese mouse model.Item type:Item, Enhancement of resistive switching properties in nitride based CBRAM device by inserting an Al2O3 thin layer(2017-05-15) ;Kumar, Dayanand ;Aluguri, Rakesh ;Chand, Umesh ;Tseng, Tseung-Yuen電子工程學系及電子研究所In this letter, we propose a method to enhance resistive switching properties in SiCN-based conductive-bridge resistive switching memory (CBRAM) devices by inserting a thin Al2O3 layer between the SiCN resistive switching layer and the TiN bottom electrode. Compared with the Cu/Ta/SiCN/TiN single-layer device, the Cu/Ta/SiCN/Al2O3/TiN double layer device exhibits uniform resistive switching, long stable endurance cycles (>1.6 x 10(4)), and stable retention (10(4)s) at 125 degrees C. These substantial improvements in the resistive switching properties are attributed to the location of the formation and rupture of conductive filaments that can be precisely controlled in the device after introducing the Al2O3 layer. Moreover, a multilevel resistive switching characteristic is observed in the Cu/Ta/SiCN/Al2O3/TiN double layer CBRAM device. The distinct six-level resistance states are obtained in double layer devices by varying the compliance current. The highly stable retention characteristics (>10(4)) of the Cu/Ta/SiCN/Al2O3/TiN double layer device with multilevel resistance states are also demonstrated. Three types of via-contact structure TFTs are used in this experiment, defined as source-drain large (SD large), source-drain normal (SD normal), and fork-shaped. After hot-carrier stress, the I-V curves of both SD normal and fork-shaped TFTs with U-shaped drains show a threshold voltage shift along with the parasitic transistor characteristic in the reverse-operation mode. Asymmetrical degradation is exhibited in an ISE-TCAD simulation of the electric field, which shows the distribution of hot electrons injected into the etch-stop layer below the redundant drain electrode.
