Item type:Item, Conductive bridge random access memory characteristics of SiCN based transparent device due to indium diffusion(2018-03-23) ;Kumar, Dayanand ;Aluguri, Rakesh ;Chand, Umesh ;Tseng, Tseung-Yuen電子工程學系及電子研究所In this work, the transparent bipolar resistive switching characteristics of a SiCN-based ITO/ SiCN/AZO structure due to In diffusion from ITO is studied. The SiCN based device is found to be 80% transparent in the visible wavelength region. This device, with AZO as both top and bottom electrodes, does not show any RRAM property due to deposition of the high quality O-2-free SiCN film. Replacing the AZO top electrode with ITO in this device results in good resistive switching (RS) characteristics with a high on/off ratio and long retention. Replacing the SiCN film with ZrO2 also results in excellent RS characteristics due to the formation of an oxygen vacancies filament inside the ZrO2 film. A resistance ratio of on/off is found to be higher in the SiCN based device compared to that of the ZrO2 device. Diffusion of In from ITO into the SiCN film on application of high positive voltage during forming can be attributed to the occurrence of RS in the device, which is confirmed by the analyses of energy dispersive spectroscopy and secondary-ion mass spectrometry. This study shows a pathway for the fabrication of CBRAM based transparent devices for non-volatile memory application.Item type:Item, 生命出境手冊 台灣殯葬近況(2018-03-25) ;范瑀真 ;Department of Communication and Technology傳播與科技學系【生命出境手冊】專題

R. ;Bishai, M.Blyth, S.Neutrons produced by cosmic ray muons are an important background for underground experiments studying neutrino oscillations, neutrinoless double beta decay, dark matter, and other rare-event signals. A measurement of the neutron yield in the three different experimental halls of the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment at varying depth is reported. The neutron yield in Daya Bay's liquid scintillator is measured to be Y-n = (10.26 +/- 0.86) x 10(-5), (10.22 +/- 0.87) x 10(-5), and (17.03 +/- 1.22) x 10(-5) mu(-1)g(-1)cm(2) at depths of 250, 265, and 860 meters-water-equivalent. These results are compared to other measurements and the simulated neutron yield in FLUKA and GEANT4. A global fit including the Daya Bay measurements yields a power law coefficient of 0.77 +/- 0.03 for the dependence of the neutron yield on muon energy.Item type:Item, Reversible and Precisely Controllable p/n-Type Doping of MoTe2 Transistors through Electrothermal Doping(2018-03-27) ;Chang, Yuan-Ming ;Yang, Shih-Hsien ;Lin, Che-Yi ;Chen, Chang-HungLien, Chen-HsinPrecisely controllable and reversible p/n-type electronic doping of molybdenum ditelluride (MoTe2) transistors is achieved by electrothermal doping (E-doping) processes. E-doping includes electrothermal annealing induced by an electric field in a vacuum chamber, which results in electron (n-type) doping and exposure to air, which induces hole (p-type) doping. The doping arises from the interaction between oxygen molecules or water vapor and defects of tellurium at the MoTe2 surface, and allows the accurate manipulation of p/n-type electrical doping of MoTe2 transistors. Because no dopant or special gas is used in the E-doping processes of MoTe2, E-doping is a simple and efficient method. Moreover, through exact manipulation of p/n-type doping of MoTe2 transistors, quasi-complementary metal oxide semiconductor adaptive logic circuits, such as an inverter, not or gate, and not and gate, are successfully fabricated. The simple method, E-doping, adopted in obtaining p/n-type doping of MoTe2 transistors undoubtedly has provided an approach to create the electronic devices with desired performance.Item type:Item, Brain Electrodynamic and Hemodynamic Signatures Against Fatigue During Driving(2018-03-27) ;Chuang, Chun-Hsiang ;Cao, Zehong ;King, Jung-Tai ;Wu, Bing-SyunWang, Yu-KaiFatigue is likely to be gradually cumulated in a prolonged and attention-demanding task that may adversely affect task performance. To address the brain dynamics during a driving task, this study recruited 16 subjects to participate in an event-related lane-departure driving experiment. Each subject was instructed to maintain attention and task performance throughout an hour-long driving experiment. The subjects' brain electrodynamics and hemodynamics were simultaneously recorded via 32-channel electroencephalography (EEG) and 8-source/16-detector functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). The behavior performance demonstrated that all subjects were able to promptly respond to lane-deviation events, even if the sign of fatigue arose in the brain, which suggests that the subjects were fighting fatigue during the driving experiment. The EEG event-related analysis showed strengthening alpha suppression in the occipital cortex, a common brain region of fatigue. Furthermore, we noted increasing oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO) of the brain to fight driving fatigue in the frontal cortex, primary motor cortex, parieto-occipital cortex and supplementary motor area. In conclusion, the increasing neural activity and cortical activations were aimed at maintaining driving performance when fatigue emerged. The electrodynamic and hemodynamic signatures of fatigue fighting contribute to our understanding of the brain dynamics of driving fatigue and address driving safety issues through the maintenance of attention and behavioral performance.Item type:Item, Solid-State Plasmonic Solar Cells(2018-03-28) ;Ueno, Kosei ;Oshikiri, Tomoya ;Sun, Quan ;Shi, XuMisawa, HiroakiMetallic nanoparticles such as silver and gold show localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPRs), which are associated with near-field enhancement effects in the vicinity of nanoparticles. Therefore, strong light-matter interaction is induced by the near-field enhancement effects of LSPRs. Because the resonant wavelength of LSPRs can be easily controlled by the size and shape of the metallic nanoparticles in the visible and near-infrared wavelength range, LSPRs have received considerable attention as optical antennae for light energy conversion systems such as solar cells. LSPRs decay very quickly as a result of light scattering and excitation of electron-hole pairs in the metal itself. However, in addition to the near-field enhancement effect, this light scattering and electron-hole pair excitation, which are known to cause loss of LSPRs, can be utilized as a solar cell enhancement mechanism. Here, we focus on plasmonic solid-state solar cells. The mechanisms of the light scattering by LSPRs, near-field enhancement, and plasmon-induced charge separation based on electron-hole pair excitations can be clarified. We review the related studies from the viewpoint of these mechanisms rather than material science.Item type:Item, Sp(4) gauge theory on the lattice: towards SU(4)/Sp(4) composite Higgs (and beyond)(2018-03-29) ;Bennett, Ed ;Hong, Deog Ki ;Lee, Jong-Wan ;Lin, C. -J. DavidLucini, BiagioThe Sp(4) gauge theory with two Dirac fundamental flavours provides a candidate for the microscopic origin of composite-Higgs models based on the SU(4)/Sp(4) coset. We employ a combination of two different, complementary strategies for the numerical lattice calculations, based on the Hybrid Monte Carlo and on the Heat Bath algorithms. We perform pure Yang-Mills, quenched computations and exploratory studies with dynamical Wilson fermions. We present the first results in the literature for the spectrum of glueballs of the pure Sp(4) Yang-Mills theory, an EFT framework for the interpretation of the masses and decay constants of the lightest pion, vector and axial-vector mesons, and a preliminary calculation of the latter in the quenched approximation. We show the first numerical evidence of a bulk phase transition in the lattice theory with dynamical Wilson fermions, and perform the technical steps necessary to set up future investigations of the mesonic spectrum of the full theory.
