Low-Molecular Push Pull Pyrazoline Derivatives: Solvatochromic Effect and Theoretical Insights into Dye-based Molecular Engineering

Intermolecular interactions between dyes and solvents are essential in understanding a number of phenomena. In this contribution, we focused on similarities and differences between two molecules belonging to the same pyrazoline derivatives group: the small and rigid- 3-(1,1-dicyanoethenyl)-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole (DCNP) molecule and the quite long and 3 flexible one of (4-(2-(1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)vinyl)-benzylidene) malononitrile (PY-PhdiCN). We experimentally show and use theoretical calculations to prove that extension of pi-connector significantly changes the electrostatic potential distribution, which results in delocalization of negative charge along the whole donor group and increases potential surface of interaction with solvent molecules giving large spectral shifts. We also show that pyrazoline derivatives are very effective and sensitive solvent indicators with long-time stability.

The present invention provides a wrapping device for wrapping body parts. Said wrapping device comprises a rotation module having a first roller ring, a second roller ring, and a plurality of connecting parts; a driving module driving at least one of the first roller ring and the second roller ring to revolve; and at least a pressing device disposed on the second roller ring. In said wrapping device, the first roller ring and the second roller ring are separately and coaxially disposed, while the opposite ends of each of the plurality of connecting parts are separately connected to the first roller ring and the second roller ring. In addition, the first roller ring includes a first ring hole surrounded and formed by a first inner ring wall, and the second roller ring includes a second ring hole surrounded and formed by a second inner ring wall. Said at least a pressing device protrudes toward an inner space of the second ring hole.
Nanocomposite, a Preparation Method Thereof and Method for Treating Cancer Using the Same

A nanocomposite, a preparation method thereof and a method for treating cancer using the same are provided. The preparation method includes: mixing a first solution including an amphiphilic chitosan and a second solution including anti-cancer components, wherein the anti-cancer components includes gemcitabine, curcumin, the derivatives and combinations thereof; forming a nanoparticle encapsulating the anti-cancer component by a self-assembling process of the amphiphilic chitosan, and binding the nanoparticle with a targeting molecule having specificity to a cancer so as to obtain a nanocomposite. When dissolving the nanocomposite of the present invention after drying into water phase, the nanocomposite still has the same morphology and characteristic before it is dried, so it is convenient for storage and delivery. Additionally, the preferable ratio of gemcitabine and demethoxycurcumin will bring a synergistic effect on cancer therapy.
Tuning the Morphology of Isoindigo Donor-Acceptor Polymer Film for High Sensitivity Ammonia Sensor

Monitoring the ammonia gas is of great interest to both environmental benefits and human health. The recent advance in polymer thin film transistors (TFTs) can realize high sensitivity and low-cost gas sensors. Ammonia gas interacts with charge carrier channels and polymer/dielectrics interface through Coulomb force. This is the first report of high sensitivity and reusable ammonia sensor fabricated from thiophene-isoindigo donor-acceptor conducting polymer. This kind of polymer has advantages of simple synthesis and excellent air stability. The systematic study is carried out to investigate relationship among chemical structure variation and morphology control of polymer to the performance of ammonia sensor. High crystallinity, favored crystal orientation, and direct percolation routes for analytes are found to be essential to increase the susceptibility of polymers to ammonia gas. By strengthening edge-on morphology, the sensitivity can be enhanced fivefold for the same polymer. The idea can put forward the development of sensor array in a time-efficient manner by employing the morphology effect.

New classes of nonlinear polyaromatics with extended conjugation at lateral and longitudinal directions from triphenylene, tetracene, and pentacene backbones are reported. These planar and twisted polyfused aromatics are obtained through specific and selective multifold Scholl reactions from predesigned polyaryls. These derivatives displayed shifted or perfect cofacial packing motifs. Single crystals of one derivative, phenanthro[9,10:b]triphenylene, were used as p-channel materials in fabricating transistor devices, which exhibited an average mobility of 0.38 cm(2) s(-1) and a maximum mobility reaching 1.15 cm(2) V-1 s(-1)

Time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) with and without a spin-flip scheme is extensively compared in on-the-fly trajectory surface hopping molecular dynamics with a global switching (GS) algorithm. The simulation is performed for cis-trans azobenzene photoisomerization following the excitation to the S-1(n pi*) state that is involved in a conical intersection (CI) between ground and first excited states. This CI is found correctly to be a single-cone (artificial double-cone) structure computed by the TDDFT method with (and without) spin-flip. Nevertheless, simulated quantum yields and lifetimes are in very good agreement; 0.43 and 63 fs (0.34 and 62 fs) for cis-to-trans isomerization, and 0.11 and 2200 fs (0.13 and 1040 fs) for trans-to-cis isomerization, by TDDFT with (and without) a spin-flip scheme. Distributions of excited-state decay, hopping spots and products, as well as typical trajectories have similar patterns and behaviors with and without spin-flip. The global switching trajectory surface hopping method is demonstrated to be well suited to TDDFT on-the-fly dynamic simulation with and without spin-flip. For comparison, previous simulations with the CASSCF method and Tully's fewest-switches trajectory surface hopping method are also addressed.
