Item type:Item, A rationally based model applicable for heat pump tumble dryer(2019-04-26) ;Lee, Bing-Hung ;Sian, Rony A. ;Wang, Chi-Chuan ;機械工程學系Department of Mechanical EngineeringThe present study proposes a rationally based heat pump clothes dryer model which is capable of handling transient behaviors of both air-side and refrigerant side. The model can take into account the geometrical variation of the heat exchangers. Yet the proposed model is free from extra constraints that were normally imposed by previous studies. The simulation shows that there exist three stages in a typical drying process, including a preheat stage, followed by a constant evaporation stage, and finally a falling drying rate period. The calculation indicates that the variation of the clothes temperature and the system suction/discharge pressure show an appreciable rise in the first stage, remain nearly unchanged at the second stage, and increase again at the final stage of drying process. Also, the corresponding maximum specific moisture extraction rate (SMER) peaks at the end of the second stage while the corresponding coefficient of performance (COP) drops continuously. The simulation also indicates that increasing the air volumetric flowrate yields a lower discharge/suction pressure, a higher COP value, and a shorter drying time. The results also suggested that a good strategy to maximize COP is initiated by a low volumetric rate during the preheat stage, increasing it during the second stage and lowering it to an intermediate flowrate at the end of the drying period. Increasing heat exchanger size, either by increasing heat exchanger width or the number of tube row, results in a lower suction/discharge pressure and a shorter drying time. Although both approaches adopt larger surface area to promote overall performance, it is found that increasing the width of heat exchanger yields more effective results.Item type:Item, Dark channel prior based video dehazing algorithm with sky preservation and its embedded system realization for ADAS applications(2019-04-29) ;Tsai, Chia-Chi ;Lin, Cheng-Yen ;Guo, Jiun-In ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsDark Channel Prior (DCP) is one of the significant dehazing methods based upon the observation of the key features of the haze-free images. But it has disadvantages; high computational complexity, over-enhancement in the sky region, flickering artefacts in video processing, and poor dehazing. Therefore, we propose improved solutions to solve the aforementioned drawbacks. First, we adopt the fast one-dimensional filter, look-up table, and program optimization to reduce the computational complexity. Next, we follow by using a part of the guided filter for sky detection and to preserve the sky region from noise by avoiding over recovery. Then, we propose an airtight update strategy and adjust the radius of a guided filter to reduce the flickering artifacts and also propose an airtight estimation method to produce the better dehazing result as the final step of our algorithm. The improved results from our proposed algorithm are stable and are obtained from the real-time processing suitable for ADAS, surveillance, and monitoring systems. The implementation of the proposed algorithm has yielded a processing speed of 75 fps and 23 fps respectively on an NVIDIA Jetson TX1 embedded platform and Renesas R-Car M2. both on DI (720x480) resolution videos. Let G = (V, E) be a graph and V be the disjoint union of F, B, and R, where F consists of free vertices, B consists of bound vertices, and R consists of required vertices. An (F, B, R)-dominating set of G is a subset D subset of V such that R subset of D and each vertex in B - D is adjacent to some vertex in D. An (F, B, R)-2-stable set of G is a subset S subset of B such that S boolean AND N(R) = empty set and every two distinct vertices x and y in S have distance d(x, y) > 2. We prove that if G is strongly chordal, then alpha(F,B,R,2) (G) = gamma(F,B,R)(G)-vertical bar R vertical bar, where gamma(F,B,R)(G) is the minimum cardinality of an (F, B, R)-dominating set of G and alpha(F,B,R,2) (G) is the maximum cardinality of an (F, B, R)-2-stable set of G. Let D-1 ->* D-2 denote D1 being transferable to D-2. We prove that if G is a connected strongly chordal graph in which D-1 and D-2 are two (F, B, R)-dominating sets with vertical bar D-1 vertical bar = vertical bar D-2 vertical bar, then D-1 ->* D-2. We also prove that if G is a cactus graph in which D-1 and D-2 are two (F, B, R) -dominating sets with vertical bar D-1 vertical bar = vertical bar D-2 vertical bar, then D-1 boolean OR {1.extra} ->* D-2 boolean OR{1.extra}, where boolean OR{1.extra} means adding one extra element. The thermal treatment process led to severe degradation of interface quality as the temperature increased. Material analyses indicated that annealing in oxygen ambient resulted in oxygen diffusion from the high-k material to the SiGe surface, causing undesirable SiGe reoxidation. In high-vacuum annealing, an interface state density of approximately 1.4 x 10(11) eV(-1) cm(-2) and a thermal stability of up to 500 degrees C were achieved for the gate stack on SiGe.Item type:Item, Motivations, Usage, and Perceived Social Networks Within and Beyond Social Media(2019-05-01) ;Lai, Chih-Hui ;傳播與科技學系Department of Communication and TechnologyThis study addresses the questions of how individuals use social media (SM) to build awareness of social networks (network perceptions) within and beyond SM, and how motivations and SM behaviors differentiate individuals' ability to build such awareness. The analysis of the 2017 Taiwan Communication Survey (TCS) identifies three types of users based on their motivations for SM use: omnivores, time-killers, and social-groomers, who are differentiated from one another in terms of different types of SM behaviors as well as perceived network structures on SM and beyond. For example, omnivores, who use SM for diverse purposes, tend to engage in SM browsing and reacting more than time-killers, who use SM to pass time. Compared to time-killers, social-groomers, those who use SM for social purposes, are more likely to perceive that they have a larger SM response network, a response network containing close ties, and that they have maintained diverse social relationships in the form of mixed-media relationships (MMRs). Moreover, SM posting is associated with the size and the diverse composition of the perceived response network on SM. More frequent SM posting is also associated with perceptions of having diverse social contacts maintained through MMRs, but such association depends on the size and composition of the perceived SM response network.
