Switched Beam System for low-tier wireless communication systems

Abstract

In this paper, we present a switched-beam antenna including a 4 by 4 Butler matrix and novel, compact, broadband CPW-fed uniplanar monopole array antennas at ISM band that were all fabricated with FR4 substrate. The lost cost and fairly good performance undoubtedly confirm its promising application in the low-tier wireless communication system such as PHS, DCS and Wireless LAN.
