The objective of this study is to achieve high directionality and extraction of light emission from polymer light-emitting diodes via optimizing photonic crystals (PCs). Genetic Algorithm is employed to search the optimal PC period, depth and filling factor. The large-area PCs are fabricated by Focus Ion Beams for PLED, which is commercially viable, even applicable to active matrix PLED displays.en_US
