Item type:Item, A PROCEDURE FOR PROBABILISTIC ANALYSIS OF NONLINEAR STRUCTURES(1990) ;KAM, TY ;LIN, SC ;交大名義發表 ;機械工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityItem type:Item, BUCKLING ANALYSIS OF IMPERFECT FRAMES USING A STOCHASTIC FINITE-ELEMENT METHOD(1992-03-17) ;LIN, SC ;KAM, TY ;交大名義發表 ;機械工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityA stochastic finite element method is developed for the buckling analysis of frames with random initial imperfections, uncertain sectional and material properties. The random geometrical imperfections of the frames are described by member initial crookednesses which are modeled as given initial displacement functions with amplitudes treated as random variables. The effects of the random initial geometric imperfections are formulated as a set of equivalent random nodal coordinates in the finite element discretization of the members. The mean-centered second-order perturbation technique is used to formulate the stochastic finite element method for the buckling analysis of the imperfect frames. Use of the present method is illustrated by several examples of buckling analysis of random frames. Results derived from the Monte Carlo method are also obtained for comparison.Item type:Item, BUCKLING FAILURE PROBABILITY OF IMPERFECT ELASTIC FRAMES(1992-07-17) ;LIN, SC ;KAM, TY ;機械工程學系Department of Mechanical EngineeringProbabilistic buckling failure of random imperfect frames is studied via the stochastic finite clement method. The statistics of buckling strengths of elastic frames with random initial imperfections, uncertain sectional and material properties are inferred from the statistics of the basic system parameters through the utilization of the stochastic finite element method. The effects of variations in geometric imperfections, sectional and material properties on variation in buckling strength are investigated. The failure probability of imperfect frames consisting of random system parameters subject to random loads is computed in load space. Factors affecting the reliability of the frames are identified and discussed. It was found that sectional properties, the shape of geometric imperfection, and the magnitude of imperfection may have important effects on frame reliability.Item type:Item, ELLIPSOMETRIC MEASUREMENTS AND ITS ALIGNMENT - USING THE INTENSITY RATIO TECHNIQUE(1995-09-01) ;CHAO, YF ;WEI, CS ;LEE, WC ;LIN, SCCHAO, TSUsing first-order treatment on azimuth errors of the polarizer (P) and analyzer (A) with respect to the plane of incidence (POI), we construct two intensity ratios around a certain configuration: such as P = +/- pi/4 and A = 0 as compared to A = pi/2. These expressions can be used not only to align the azimuths of the polarizer and analyzer to the POI, hut also to obtain the ellipsometric parameter phi without locating the minimum intensity, BK7 glass and SiO2/Si thin film are ultilized to evaluate this technique.Item type:Item, NONLINEAR DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF INELASTIC STEEL PLANE FRAMES(1988) ;KAM, TY ;LIN, SC ;交大名義發表 ;機械工程學系National Chiao Tung UniversityItem type:Item, RELIABILITY-ANALYSIS OF NONLINEAR LAMINATED COMPOSITE PLATE STRUCTURES(1993) ;KAM, TY ;LIN, SC ;HSIAO, KM ;交大名義發表機械工程學系A procedure for the reliability analysis of laminated composite plate structures subjected to large deflections under random static loads is presented. The nonlinear analysis of laminated composite plate structures is achieved via a corotational total Lagrangian finite element formulation which is based on the von Karman assumption and first order shear deformation theory. This formulation is applicable for the nonlinear analysis of plate structures with large rotations but moderate deformation and thus accurate enough to predict the behavior of the structures at the point of failure. The reliability assessment of laminated composite plate structures with random strength subjected to random loads is approached by the determination of limit state surfaces in load space' The limit space surfaces are obtained by performing a series of first ply failure analyses following different load paths in load space using the proposed nonlinear structural analysis technique and an appropriate failure criterion. A numerical technique is then proposed to evaluate the reliability of the plate structures. Examples of the reliability analyses of laminated plates with different layer orientations subject to random loads are given for illustration.Item type:Item, THE ELLIPSOMETRIC MEASUREMENTS ON SIO2 BY INTENSITY RATIO TECHNIQUE(1994) ;CHAO, YF ;WEI, CS ;LEE, WC ;LIN, SC交大名義發表
