Item type:Item, An Ultra-Fast Temporary Bonding and Release Process Based on Thin Photolysis Polymer in 3D Integration(2015) ;Tsai, Tsung-Yen ;Lin, Chien-Hung ;Lee, Chia-Lin ;Yang, Shan-ChunChen, Kuan-NengAn ultra-fast temporary bonding and release process was investigated for the improvement of 3D integration. The bonding scheme composes of two different kinds of polymer for release layer and adhesive layer. The submicron release layer is a positive photoresist with the characteristic of high UV absorption induced into the de-bonding procedure within 20 s. In addition, the adhesive layer provides robust mechanical strength for the wafer thinning process. Based on results, this structure is a potential candidate for temporary bonding and de-bonding technique in 3D integration.Item type:Item, Carrier dynamics in modulation-doped InAs/GaAs quantum rings(2013) ;Lin, Chien-Hung ;Lin, Shin-Chin ;Sun, Kien Wen ;Lee, Chien-Ping應用化學系Carrier dynamics in undoped and modulation-doped self-assembled InAs/GaAs quantum rings was comprehensively examined through time-resolved photoluminescence techniques at room temperature. After photoexcitation, the rates of carrier capture and relaxation in the ground state and excited states were equally fast in both the undoped and charged quantum rings. Instead of cascading down through the excited states, the carriers excited in the undoped quantum rings relaxed through the quasicontinuum states via coupling with acoustical phonons and eventually thermalized to the ground state by emitting longitudinal optical phonons. The dynamics of carrier thermalization was governed by cold carriers in the charged quantum rings. In carrier recombination, the undoped quantum rings had a shorter PL decay time and lower luminescence intensity than the charged quantum rings because radiative recombination was suppressed by defects in the matrix and the absence of cold carriers.Item type:Item, Characterization of Temporary Bonding and Laser Release Using Polyimide and a 300-nm Photolysis Polymer System for High-Throughput 3-D IC Applications(2017-03) ;Cheng, Chuan-An ;Tsai, Tsung-Yen ;Huang, Yu-Hsiang ;Lin, Chien-HungLee, Chia-LinA new temporary bonding technology with an ultrafast laser-release process of less than 20 s is presented, where a 300-nm-thick photolysis polymer and polyimide are served as the release layer and adhesive layer, respectively. The submicrometer-thick polymer has the feature of high absorption of a 355-nm laser in contrast to polyimide during debonding procedures. In addition, the thin release layers of high chemical resistance and mechanical strength demonstrate their feasibility for handling process. Electrical characteristics of the devices before and after the laser-release process are investigated, showing no degradation. Thus, this technology scheme demonstrates its potential for temporary bonding and release in 3-D integration applications.Item type:Item, Define high quality Type-I InGaAsSb/AlGaAsSb QW laser fabrication process with high-resolution x-ray diffraction(2018-01-01) ;Cheng, Hui-Wen ;Lin, Chien-Hung ;Lee, Chien-Ping ;電機學院電子工程學系及電子研究所Active InGaAsSb/AlGaAsSb type-I quantum well (QW) compositions acceptable for pseudomorphic growth on GaSb substrates restrict the optical range to below 4 mu m. Increasing the In concentration in active region and growing lattice-matched barrier/cladding layers will reach higher emission wavelength. We need to overcome several issues during fabrication process to ensure this high quality epitaxial layer. In this paper, high-resolution x-ray diffraction (HRXRD) method is used to define optimal epitaxy parameters for stable type-I GaSb-based mid infrared laser structures.Item type:Item, Design and synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole-containing N-acyl zanamivir analogs as potent neuraminidase inhibitors(2016-11-10) ;Das, Anindya ;Adak, Avijit K. ;Ponnapalli, Kalyankumar ;Lin, Chien-HungHsu, Kai-ChengThe design of potent metabolically stable neuraminidase (NA) inhibitors represents an attractive approach for treating influenza virus infection. In this study, we describe the exploitation of the 150-cavity in the active site of group 1 NA for the design, synthesis, and in vitro evaluation of new triazole-containing N-acyl derivatives related to Zanamivir. Inhibition studies with influenza virus NAs of group 1 (H1N1) and group 2 (H3N2) revealed that several of them are good inhibitors, with IC50 values in the low nanomolar (2.3 nM-31 nM) range. Substituents that form stable van der Waals interaction with the 150-cavity residues play crucial roles in NA inhibition as demonstrated by the potency of 6a (H1N1 IC50 = 23 nM, and H3N2 IC50 = 2.9 nM). Docking studies indicated that the cyclohexane-substituted triazole ring extended toward the hydrophobic region in the active site of group 1 NA in open form. The high potency observed for inhibitor 6a may be attributable to the highly favorable hydrophobic interactions in this region. (C) 2016 Elsevier Masson SAS. The two lasing peaks emitted simultaneously at 2.3 mu m and 2.22 mu m under optical pumping. Type-I InGaAsSb quantum wells were used for the active region. The photonic crystal with a rectangular lattice was fabricated on the surface to provide light coupling for laser operation. The two-wavelength operation was a result of the resonances from the two different grating periods along the two perpendicular directions of the rectangular lattice. The laser emissions from these two wavelengths were highly linearly polarized in two perpendicular directions as a result of the grating design. The InAs QDs were different in size, shape, and number of bound states. Results from the PLE spectroscopy at low temperature and under a high magnetic field (up to 14 T) were compared. Our findings show that the profile of the PLE resonances associated with the bound transitions disintegrated and broadened. This was attributed to the coupling of the localized QD excited states to the crossed states and scattering of longitudinal acoustical (LA) phonons. The degree of spectral linewidth broadening was larger for the excited state in smaller QDs because of the higher crossed joint density of states and scattering rate.Item type:Item, Electrically pumped quantum dot surface emitting lasers with Bragg grating capped by ITO cladding layers(2016) ;Hong, Kuo-Bin ;Chang, Ting-Yuan ;Pan, Chien-Hung ;Lin, Chien-HungLin, GrayQD based Bragg gratings surface emitting lasers using ITO as transparent cladding layers were demonstrated. Measured lasing peak locates at 1298nm and threshold current density of 210 A/cm(2). The laser shows extremely small divergence surface-emitted beam and thermal redshift of 0.08 nm/K in peak wavelength.Item type:Item, Enhanced optical property in quaternary GaInAsSb/AlGaAsSb quantum wells(2014-10-21) ;Lin, Chien-Hung ;Lee, Chien-Ping ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsHigh quality GaInAsSb/AlGaAsSb quantum wells (QWs) have been grown by molecular beam epitaxy using proper interface treatments. By controlling the group-V elements at interfaces, we obtained excellent optical quality QWs, which were free from undesired localized trap states, which may otherwise severely affect the exciton recombination. Strong and highly efficient exciton emissions up to room temperature with a wavelength of 2.2 mu m were observed. A comprehensive investigation on the QW quality was carried out using temperature dependent and power dependent photoluminescence (PL) measurements. The PL emission intensity remains nearly constant at low temperatures and is free from the PL quenching from the defect induced localized states. The temperature dependent emission energy had a bulk-like behavior, indicating high quality well/barrier interfaces. Because of the uniformity of the QWs and smooth interfaces, the low temperature limit of inhomogeneous line width broadening is as small as 5meV. Effects of laser absorption coefficient and laser ablation path are also studied to develop a high throughput laser ablation process. The bonding scheme can be achieved within the optimized temperature of 210 degrees C under 1 MPa bonding force. In addition, chemical resistance, mechanical strength with reliability assessment, and thermal stability test for bonded structure are inspected. There is no obvious degradation in electrical characterization after laser ablation, indicating that the temporary bonding scheme has high potential to be used for 3-D integration applications.Item type:Item, How does background music tempo work for online shopping?(2012-05-01) ;Ding, Cherng G. ;Lin, Chien-Hung ;經營管理研究所Institute of Business and ManagementThis research examines the impact of background music tempo, an emotional stimulus, on consumer attitude in online shopping. The authors conducted two empirical studies based on the same experimental design. The results of both studies supported the study's main hypothesis: background music tempo positively affects consumer arousal. It also suggests that product category moderates the influence of arousal on pleasure such that a positive effect occurs when shopping online for hedonic products but not for utilitarian products. In addition, consumer trust mediates the positive influence of pleasure on purchase intention. The authors also discuss the managerial implications of the empirical results. (C) 2011 Elsevier B. V. B. ;Cheng, Yi-Chuan ;Yen, ChiahuiWang, Yu-ShanIschemic stroke arising from the sudden blockage of arteries in the brain, is a common and serious brain damaging problem worldwide, often leading to disability or death. The oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD) model was created to improve understanding of hypoxia- and hypoglycemia-induced neuronal cell injury, and provide an in vitro surrogate to assess novel treatments for cerebral hypoxia-ischemia. AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is a critical neuroprotective regulator of energy homeostasis, metabolism and cell survival. However, the neuroprotective mechanisms by which AMPK achieves these beneficial effects in human SH-SY5Y neural cells exposed to OGD are still not well understood. Resveratrol is a potent activator of AMPK suggesting it may have therapeutic potential as a neuroprotective agent. Therefore, we hypothesized the AMPK activator resveratrol protects against OGD-mediated impairment of human SH-SY5Y neuronal cells. The novelty of the experiment using a 3D gelatin scaffold cell culture assay, we have tested the potential of 3D systems to mimic the endogenous neuronal environment and have applied these systems to study the effect of OGD on neuronal cells with/without resveratrol. Here we show resveratrol reverses, via AMPK-dependent downregulation of caspase 3 and 9 activity, the OGD-mediated decreases in SH-SY5Y cell viability on a 3D gelatin scaffold. In addition, treatment with OGD decreases mRNA levels of AMPK and the neuroprotective genes (Bcl-2 and CREB); however, co-treatment with resveratrol significantly normalizes these effects. Importantly, resveratrol improves the expression of AMPK and p-AMPK in OGD-exposed SH-SY5Y cells. Resveratrol also significantly rescues SH-SY5Y cells from OGD-mediated mitochondrial deficiency (lower D-loop level, mitochondrial mass, maximal respiratory function, COX activity, and mitochondrial membrane potential). Resveratrol also rescues the transcript expression levels of PGC1 alpha and mitochondrial genes (NRF-1 and Tfam) in OGD-treated SH-SY5Y cells. These findings extend our mechanistic understanding of the central role of AMPK in OGD-related neuronal impairment, and may serve as basis for implementing new therapeutic strategies in the treatment of ischemic stroke.Item type:Item, Observation of long-lived excitons in InAs quantum dots under thermal redistribution temperature(2012-03-26) ;Cheng, Chun ;Lin, Sheng-Di ;Pan, Chien-Hung ;Lin, Chien-HungFu, Ying-JheWe study the temperature-dependent time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL) of self-assembled InAs quantum dots (QDs). Under low excitation power, a surprisingly long PL decay time is observed at about 60 K, under the thermal redistribution temperature. The long decay time decreases with increasing excitation power but is nearly independent of the detection energy of TRPL measurements. A model considering the spin relaxation through the excited excitonic state is proposed to quantitatively explain the unusual phenomena. The rate equation analysis indicates that the observation of long-lived excitons is caused by the shortened spin-flip time. (c) 2012 Elsevier B.V. Several different pillar heights were fabricated on wafers to simulate the case of bonding with real devices on wafers. Overall, the wafer morphology with polymer-coated layer above devices less than 2 mu m can achieve excellent bonding quality. Furthermore, undamaged carrier wafers can be obtained after laser-assisted de-bonding technology, and post clean treatment.
