Item type:Item, An integrated MCDM technique combined with DEMATEL for a novel cluster-weighted with ANP method(2011-03-01) ;Yang, Jiann Liang ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyTraditionally, most importance-assessing methods used to demonstrate the importance among criteria by preference weightings are based on the assumptions of additivity and independence. In fact, people have found that using such an additive model is not always feasible because of the dependence and feedback among the criteria to somewhat different degrees. To solve the issue the analytic network process (ANP) method is proposed by Saaty. The general method is easy and useful for solving the above-mentioned problem. However in ANP procedures, using average method (equal cluster-weighted) to obtain the weighted supermatrix seems to be irrational because there are different degrees of influence among the criteria. Therefore, we intended to propose an integrated multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) techniques which combined with the decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) and a novel cluster-weighted with ANP method in this paper, in which the DEMATEL method is used to visualize the structure of complicated causal relationships between criteria of a system and obtain the influence level of these criteria. And, then adopt these influence level values as the base of normalization supermatrix for calculating ANP weights to obtain the relative importance. Additionally, an empirical study is illustrated to demonstrate that the proposed method is more suitable and reasonable. By the concept of ideal point, some important conclusions drawn from a practical application can be referred by practitioners. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. The fluorescence intensity of 3b was enhanced upon adding [Cu(ClO(4))(2)], which reached a maximum with approximately 4 equiv. of Cu(2+) but then started to decrease in intensity at higher Cu(2+) concentrations. Job plot experiments revealed a 1:2 binding stoichiometry of 3b with Cu(2+). Based on (1)H NMR titration results, we infer that there are two possible binding sites for Cu(2+) in 3b: one at the lower-rim phenolic-OH and amide groups, and the second at the beta-amino alpha,beta-unsaturated ketone groups. It is important to note that during the complexation of 3b with [Cu(ClO(4))(2)], the Cu(2+) ions were reduced to Cu(+) by both the phenolic OH and the amines of the beta-amino alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones. Furthermore, control compounds 6 and 9b were synthesized to clarify the possible binding sites of Cu(2+) in 3b. By comparing the binding constants of 3b, 6, and 9b with Cu(2+), we found that 3b exhibited a positive allosteric behavior toward the coordination of two Cu(2+) ions.Item type:Item, High-Performance Poly-Si Nanowire Thin-Film Transistors Using the HfO2 Gate Dielectric(2011-03-01) ;Lee, Chen-Ming ;Tsui, Bing-Yue ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsHigh-performance polycrystalline-silicon (poly-Si) nanowire (NW) thin-film transistors (TFTs) using hafnium dioxide (HfO2) as gate dielectric is successfully fabricated for the first time. The excellent short-channel characteristics are attributed to the high-kappa gate dielectric, ultrathin poly-SiNW channel thickness, and omega-shaped gate structure. The record high driving capability of 549 mu A/mu m results from the ultrashort gate length (L-G), thin equivalent oxide thickness, and Ni silicide metal source/drain. This letter reveals the opportunity of high-performance poly-Si TFT circuits for system-on-panel and 3-D integrated circuit (3-D IC) applications.Item type:Item, Design and Implementation of Readout Circuit with Threshold Voltage Compensation on Glass Substrate for Touch Panel Applications(2011-03-01) ;Lin, Yu-Ta ;Ker, Ming-Dou ;Wang, Tzu-Ming ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsA new on-panel readout circuit with threshold voltage compensation for capacitive sensor in low temperature polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) thin-film transistor (LTPS-TFT) process has been proposed. In order to compensate the threshold voltage variation from LTPS process variation, the proposed readout circuit applies a novel compensation approach with switch capacitor technique. In addition, a 4-bit analog-to-digital converter ( ADC) is added to identify different sensed capacitor values and further enhances the overall resolution of touch panel. The proposed generalized detection framework constructed by parallel interference cancellation (PIC), group, and iteration techniques provides three parameters and three sub-algorithms to generate two efficient detection algorithms and conventional BLAST-ordered decision feedback (BODF), grouped, iterative, and B-Chase detection algorithms. Since the group interference suppression (GIS) technique is applied to the proposed detection algorithms, the complexities of the preprocessing (PP) and tree search (TS) can be reduced. In (8,8) system with uncoded 16-QAM inputs, one example of the T1 algorithm can save complexity by 21.2% at the penalty of 0.6 dB loss compared with the B-Chase detector. The T2 algorithm not only reduces complexity by 21.9% but also outperforms the BODF algorithm by 3.1 dB.Item type:Item, Two Tests for Supplier Selection Based on Process Yield(2011-03-01) ;Pearn, W. L. ;Liao, Mou-Yuan ;Wu, Chien-Wei ;Chu, Yao-Tsung工業工程與管理學系Market share is highly corrected with customer satisfaction and business success; many companies increase their outsourcing level to keep their core competition. Supplier selection problems have become an important issue of production management. Process yield is a standard criterion in the manufacturing industry as a common measure on process performance. The index S(PK) provides an exact measure on the process yield for normal processes. However, most studies considered the assessment of index S(PK) for just one single supplier; the testing procedure for suppliers selection has not been done at present. Hence, the principal purpose of this research is to determine the more capable process between two competing suppliers. Two tests are presented based on S(PK), and four bootstrap methods are used for obtaining the test statistics. By Monte Carlo simulations, performance comparisons of these methods are performed in terms of empirical size and selection power. Finally, a case on the color filter manufacturing process is investigated to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method.Item type:Item, Field Dependence of Porous Low-k Dielectric Breakdown as Revealed by the Effects of Line Edge Roughness on Failure Distributions(2011-03-01) ;Lee, S. C. ;Oates, A. S. ;Chang, K. M. ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsWe investigate the electric field (E) dependence of the breakdown of porous low-k dielectrics by measuring the changes in the failure time distribution resulting from the presence of line edge roughness. We show that the Weibull beta increases with decreasing field, clearly demonstrating that dielectric breakdown does not exhibit 1/E or E(-n) characteristics.Item type:Item, Generalized synchronization of chaotic systems with different orders by fuzzy logic constant controller(2011-03-01) ;Li, Shih-Yu ;Ge, Zheng-Ming ;機械工程學系Department of Mechanical EngineeringThe fuzzy logic constant controller (FLCC) is introduced in this paper. Unlike traditional method, a simplest controller is proposed via fuzzy logic design and Lyapunov direct method. Controllers in traditional method by Lyapunov direct method are always complicated or the functions of errors. We propose a new idea to design constant numbers as controllers, while the constant numbers are decided by the upper bound and the lower bound of the error derivatives. Via fuzzy logic rules, the strength of controllers in our new approach can be adjusted according to the error derivatives. Consequently, the slave system becomes exactly and efficiently synchronized to the trajectory of master system through FLCC. Two examples, Lorenz system and four order Chen-Lee system, are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the new controllers in chaos generalized synchronization. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. This methodology has been developed to conquer the slow imaging processing of charge-coupled device camera for the stroboscopic illumination in the polarization modulated imaging ellipsometry. Without any calibration in its initial phase, we can perform the ellipsometric measurement by the measurements of intensity at five-specific temporal phases. The intensities of a full cycle for a point on SiO(2)/Si thin film were measured and analyzed for verifying this algorithm. The five stroboscopic illuminations were performed to measure the two-dimensional distribution of the same SiO(2)/Si thin film. (C) 2011 American Institute of Physics. According to the literature in marketing research, we establish a causal relationship model that considers "service quality-satisfaction-behavioral intentions" paradigm, perceived value theory, and switching barrier theory. Exploring passengers' behavioral intention from satisfaction and perceived value help to understand how passengers are attracted by the company, while switching barriers assist in realizing how passengers are "locked" into a relationship with the current company. Furthermore, in order to capture the nature of service quality, we adopt a hierarchical factor structure which serves service quality as the higher-order factor. In this study, coach industry is selected as our research subject. The empirical results, as hypothesized, show that all causal relationships are statistically significant, and perceived value us the most important predictor of satisfaction and passengers' behavioral intention. In conclusion, the managerial implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.Item type:Item, 「情感的亞洲」專題導言(國立陽明交通大學出版社, 2011-03-01)王智明Item type:Item, Simultaneous self-mode-locking of TEM(0,0) and TEM(1,0) modes in a Nd:YVO(4) laser: Application for measuring the thermal focal length(2011-03-01) ;Liang, H. C. ;Chiang, P. Y. ;Huang, Y. J. ;Lin, Y. C.Chen, Y. F.We demonstrate that the simultaneous self-mode-locking of TEM(0,0) and TEM(1,0) modes can be achieved in a standard end-pumped Nd:YVO(4) laser. With this simultaneous self-mode-locking, the transverse beat frequency can be accurately measured as a function of the absorbed power. We employ the measured beat frequency and the cavity theory to precisely determine the effective focal length of the thermal lens in the gain medium.Item type:Item, Verification of a Small-Form-Factor Optical Head With Micro Holographic Optical Element(2011-03-01) ;Hou, Kuan-Chou ;Chiou, Jin-Chern ;交大名義發表National Chiao Tung UniversityA small-form-factor (SFF) pickup head with a holographic optical element (HOE) is fabricated. The system employs a finite-conjugate object lens to focus a light beam. A holographic optical element is used to simplify the optical configuration. It provides a better means of alignment of fabrication and reduces the size of system relative to reflective light route. Thermal analysis was utilized to prove that temperature of LD is under an acceptable range. The pickup head system based on discrete components and a flip chip bonder with highly accurate alignment was to integrate it. Focusing error signal (FES) of pickup head was measured and presented. The optical system is demonstrated and proved that it is a feasible system.Item type:Item, Non-linear suspension of an automatic ball balancer(2011-03-01) ;Chan, T. C. ;Sung, C. K. ;Chao, Paul C. P. ;電子工程學系及電子研究所Department of Electronics Engineering and Institute of ElectronicsThis study investigates the effects on ball positioning because of the non-linear suspensions of an automatic ball balancer (ABB) installed in a rotor system. A complete dynamic model of the ABB, focusing on the non-linearity of the suspensions, is presented. The elastic behaviour of these suspensions is assumed to be well characterised by equivalent non-linear springs. Herein, two Duffing-type non-linear springs are considered: stiffness-softening and stiffness-hardening. Four types of asymptotic solutions that represent the ball positions at steady state are obtained by employing the method of multiple scales. The stabilities of all four types of solutions were found using Floquet theory. In contrast to the perfectly balanced solutions (Type I), the other solution (Type II) is affected by non-linear stiffness suspension. After properly designing the avoidable level of non-linearity, the balancing balls of the ABB still resided at the positions required to reduce the expected vibrations in the steady state. Numerical simulations were performed to validate the theoretical results. The results were also used to predict the level of residual vibration, and design guidelines that would guarantee the desired performance of the ABB for high-precision applications were formulated. Compared with the 6T cell, this paper indicates that 4T SRAM cells exhibit a better nominal READ static noise margin (RSNM) because of the reduced READ disturb. For 4T cells, the nearly ideal values of V(write, 0) and V(write, 1) guarantee the positive nominal WRITE static noise margin (WSNM) for selected cells. For half-selected cells on the selected bit line, a sufficient margin is observed between WRITE time (for selected cells) and WRITE disturb (for half-selected cells). Using the established model-based approach, the variability of subthreshold 6T and 4T SRAM cells is assessed with 1000 samples. Our results indicate that the 4T driverless cell with a larger mu RSNM and a slightly worse sigma RSNM shows a comparable mu/sigma ratio in RSNM with the 6T cell. Furthermore, for a given cell area, 4T SRAM cells using relaxed device dimensions with reduced sigma RSNM can outperform the 6T cell. For WRITE operation, 4T SRAM cells exhibit a superior WSNM, whereas the design margin between WRITE time and WRITE disturb needs to be carefully examined to ensure an adequate margin considering device variability.Item type:Item, Solution-processed small molecular electron transport layer for multilayer polymer light-emitting diodes(2011-03-01) ;Liu, Zong-You ;Tseng, Shin-Rong ;Chao, Yu-Chiang ;Chen, Chun-YuMeng, Hsin-FeiSolution-processed electron transport layers (ETL) have been fabricated by solution process and applied in multilayer polymer light-emitting diodes with tris[2-(p-tolyl)pyridine]iridium(III) blended in poly(vinylcarbazole) as the emissive layer. Three kinds of small molecular electron transport materials, including 2,2',2 ''-(1,3,5-benzinetriyl)-tris(1-phenyl-1-H-benzimidazole)(TPBi),3-(4-biphenyl)-4-phenyl-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,2,4-triazole (TAZ), and 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (BPhen), are tested and dissolved in methanol to form electron transport layers by blade coating. Such electron transport layer provides efficient electron injection and electron transport ability in the devices. The efficiency of the devices with the combination of ETL and LiF/Al cathode reaches 21.5 cd/A at 10 V (4050 cd/m(2)). The efficiency of the devices without ETL are 3.5 cd/A (13 V) for LiF/Al cathode and 17 cd/A (7 V) for CsF/Al cathode at 1000 cd/m(2). The aggregation of the solution-processed ETL can be controlled by annealing temperature to further optimize the device performance to maximal efficiency of 53 cd/A. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. The smooth coalescence of the stripes and surface morphology was measured by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Due to reduction in internal electric field, semipolar InGaN/GaN MQWs have higher radiative recombination rate from time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL) measurement. In addition, from degree of polarization (DOP) measurement, we observed higher polarization ratio attributed to the induced anisotropic compressive strain. However, in a situation with weight restrictions on individual input-output pairs, its suitability has been questioned. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to develop a mathematical method, which we call the input-oriented ratio-based comparative efficiency model, DEA-R-I, to derive the input-target improvement strategy in situations with weight restrictions. Also, we prove that the efficiency score of DEA-R-I is greater than that of CCR-I, which is the first and most popular model of DEA, in input-oriented situations without weight restrictions to claim the DEA-R-I can replace the CCR model in these situations. We also show an example to illustrate the necessity of developing the new model. In a nutshell, we developed DEA-R-I to replace CCR-I in all input-oriented situations because it sets a more accurate weight restriction and yields a more achievable strategy. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. The misfit between k' particles and gamma(0) phase decreased with increasing carbon content. The strain energy increased dramatically as carbon content approached slightly below 5.5 at%. Undercooling may be insufficient to overcome the strain energy effects, thus leading to the absence of spinodal decomposition and k' particles in the present and prior austemtic FeMnAlC alloys with 3.1 <= C <= 5.2 at% under the as-quenched condition. Additionally, both the amount of ordered k' particles and the carbon concentration in the k' particles increased with increasing carbon content of the alloy. These results revealed that a higher degree of carbon supersaturation in the initial gamma phase might promote a tendency toward C-rich k' particle formation during quenching.
