Item type:Item, Using Gold Nanoclusters As Selective Luminescent Probes for Phosphate-Containing Metabolites(2012-07-03) ;Li, Po-Han ;Lin, Ju-Yu ;Chen, Cheng-Tai ;Ciou, Wei-RuChan, Po-HanGlutathione-bound gold nanoclusters (AuNCs@GSH) can emit reddish photoluminescence under illumination of ultraviolet light. The luminescence of the AuNCs@GSH is quenched when chelating with iron ions (AuNCs@GSH-Fe3+), presumably resulting from the effective electron transfer between the nanoclusters and iron ions. Nevertheless, we found that the luminescence of the gold nanoclusters can be restored in the presence of phosphate-containing molecules, which suggested the possibility of using AuNCs@GSH-Fe3+ complexes as the selective luminescent switches for phosphate-containing metabolites. Phosphate-containing metabolites such as adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) and pyrophosphate play an important role in biological systems. In this study, we demonstrated that the luminescence of the AuNCs@GSH-Fe3+ is switched-on when mixing with ATP and pyrophosphate, which can readily be observed by the naked eye. It results from the high formation constants between phosphates and iron ions. When employing fluorescence spectroscopy as the detection tool, quantitative analysis for phosphate-containing metabolites such as ATP and pyrophosphate can be conducted. The linear range for ATP and pyrophosphate is 50 mu M to sub-millimolar, while the limit of detection for ATP and pyrophosphate are similar to 43 and similar to 28 mu M, respectively. Additionally, we demonstrated that the luminescence of the AuNCs@GSH-Fe3+ can also be turned on in the presence of phosphate-containing metabolites from cell lysates and blood plasma.Item type:Item, Context-based adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) decoding device and decoding method thereof(2012-07-03) ;Chang Tian-SheuanLiao Yuan-HsinA context-based adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) decoding device and a coding method thereof are provided. Label-free Raman imaging has proven powerful for studying such dynamic behaviors in vivo and at the molecular level. To construct Raman images, univariate data analysis has been commonly employed, but it cannot be free from uncertainties due to severely overlapped spectral information. Here, we demonstrate multivariate curve resolution analysis for time-lapse Raman imaging of a single dividing yeast cell. A four-dimensional (spectral variable, spatial positions in the two-dimensional image plane, and time sequence) Raman data "hypercube" is unfolded. to a two-way array and then analyzed globally using multivariate curve resolution. The multivariate Raman imaging thus accomplished successfully disentangles dynamic changes of both concentrations and distributions of major cellular components (lipids, proteins, and polysaccharides) during the cell cycle of the yeast cell. The results show a drastic decrease in the amount of lipids by similar to 50% after cell division and uncover a protein-associated component that has not been detected with previous univariate approaches.Item type:Item, Nursing system(2012-07-03) ;Tsai Chi-Yi ;Huang Fu-Sheng ;Lin Chen-Yang ;Lin Zhi-ShengChen Chun-WeiA nursing system of the present invention can position where a person to be nursed through a sensor network widely deployed in an environment, instantaneously detect if the person to be nursed has an accident, and forward a message to inform a relative or medical staff. A higher sensitivity was obtained by applying 25 nm gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) to the surface of a bare QCM electrode. Subsequently, chicken anti-gliadin antibodies (IgY) were immobilized directly on the AuNP-modified surface by cross-linking amine groups in IgY with glutaraldehyde. Experimental results revealed that the change in frequency exhibited when 2 ppm gliadin was bound to the AuNP-modified electrode was 35 Hz (48%) greater than that of the bare gold electrode. The linear dynamic range in 60% ethanol was from 1 X 10(1) to 2 X 10(5) ppb gliadin, and the calculated limit of detection (LOD) was 8 ppb. The entire detection process was completed in 40 min and was highly repeatable. Additionally, the AuNP-modified QCM system generated results in the detection of gliadin in 10 commercial food products that were consistent with those obtained using an AOAC-approved gliadin kit. In conclusion, the QCM platform provides a potential alternative means of ensuring that people with wheat allergies and celiac patients have access to gliadin-free food.Item type:Item, JOINT SUBCARRIER USAGE RATIO AND POWER ALLOCATION METHOD, SYSTEM USING THE SAME, BASE STATION AND CONTROLLER USING THE SAME(2012-07-05) ;Lee Chiao ;Wang Li-ChunHuang Jane-HwaA joint subcarrier usage ratio and power allocation method, the system and base station, and a controller using the same are proposed. The method is adapted for a femtocell base station using OFDMA technology to jointly select transmission power and subcarrier usage ratio. The method includes a first adjustment process, which simultaneously, dynamically and jointly adjusts the transmission power and the subcarrier usage ratio so as to quickly satisfy capacity requirement and link reliability requirement. The method also includes a second adjustment process for slowly adjusting the transmission power and the subcarrier usage ratio after the capacity requirement and the link reliability requirement are both met in the first adjustment process for stability duration. The second adjustment process helps the femtocell base station achieve maximal power efficiency. An outer-loop control might be used in the method to relax the capacity requirement of one femtocell for quickly achieving a stable situation.Item type:Item, 交大e-News第121期(2012-07-05) ;Secretariat國立交通大學秘書室Item type:Item, METHOD FOR BUFFERING CLOCK SKEW BY USING A LOGICAL EFFORT(2012-07-05) ;Hsieh Chung-Ying ;Chang Ming-HungHwang WeiA method buffers clock skew by using a logical effort, and is applicable to a clock tree that stays in a strong-inversion region, a moderate-inversion region, or a weak-inversion region. By adding ZrO2 nano-particles with silicone onto the surface of the phosphor layer, the capability of light scattering could be enhanced. In particular, the intensity of blue light at large angles was increased and the CCT deviations could be reduced. Besides, the luminous flux was improved due to the ZrO2 nano-particles with silicone providing a suitable refractive index between air and phosphor layers. This novel structure reduces angular-dependent CCT deviations from 1000 to 420 K in the range of -70 degrees to 70 degrees. Moreover, the enhancement of lumen flux was increased by 2.25% at a driving current 120 mA, compared to a conventional remote phosphor structure without ZrO2 nano-particles. Consequently, the ZrO2 nano-particles in a remote phosphor structure could not only improve the uniformity of lighting but also increase the light output.Item type:Item, Geometry Based Efficient Decoder for Underdetermined MIMO Systems and Decoding Method Thereof(2012-07-05) ;Huang Chung-Jung ;Wu Chih-YungLee Ta-SungA decoder for underdetermined MIMO systems with low decoding complexity is provided. For complexity reason, polynomial inter/extra-polation is an often considered method for channel estimation in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) and orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) systems, in which the simplest choice is linear inter/extra-polation. But the performance of this method depends on the accuracy of symbol timing estimation as well as the channel delay spread. The invention mitigates the problem by adding a linear phase factor to polynomial inter/extra-polation, which corresponds to adding a delay (also called delay shift) in the time domain.Item type:Item, Tracking vehicle method by using image processing(2012-07-10) ;Wu Bing-Fei ;Chen Chao-Jung ;Kao Chih-Chung ;Chung Meng-LiangChiu Chung-ChengThe invention relates to a method for image processing. The invention presents a joint maximum-likelihood (ML) synchronization method for symbol time offset (STO) in OFDM systems. The method is developed in frequency domain under time-variant multipath channels. By analyzing the received frequency-domain data, a mathematical model for the joint effects of symbol time offset (STO), carrier frequency offset (CFO) and sampling clock frequency offset (SCFO) is derived. The results are used to formulate a log-likelihood function of two consecutive symbols. The joint estimation's method is robust, because it exhibits high performances in high mobility and time-variant multipath fading channels.
