Item type:Item, Saturation of the free carrier absorption in ZnTe crystals(2013-06-17) ;Ku, S. A. ;Tu, C. M. ;Chu, W. -C. ;Luo, C. W.Wu, K. H.This study systematically investigates the influence of free carriers on the generation of THz in ZnTe crystals, over a wide range of pumping fluences. As the pumping fluence is increased (< 6.36 mJ/cm(2)), the concentration of free carriers gradually increases and the THz output power is saturated, as clearly demonstrated by the time delay in the THz temporal waveforms, the changes in the THz spectral weight and the red-shift in the PL spectra. For high pumping fluences (> 6.36 mJ/cm(2)), spectacularly, there is a significant quadratic increase in the THz output power when the pumping fluence is increased, as well as at low pumping fluences of < 0.58 mJ/cm(2), because of the saturation of free carriers. The gold ENR exhibits a strong localized surface plasmon bonding mode in near-infrared region, whose peak wavelength is red-shifted as increasing the aspect ratio under longitudinal and transverse polarizations. Furthermore, the disk- and hole-like optical properties for longitudinal and transverse modes are observed, which cause different behaviors in field intensity enhancement. For biomolecule sensing, we find that both modes show increased surface sensitivities when enlarging the aspect ratio of gold ENR. The electric switch set is coupled to the first and second input terminals and a ground terminal and switches the conduction status thereof according to the AC signal. The two voltage boost circuits are interconnected and coupled to the first and second input terminals and the electric switch set. The boost circuits receive the AC signal according to the conduction status, respectively boost voltage in positive and negative semi-periods of the AC signal, and alternatively output a voltage at least two times the peak voltage of the AC signal, to a load. The present invention not only boosts voltage by several folds within a cycle but also outputs voltage by dual phases to reduce ripple of output voltage.Item type:Item, Address generation apparatus and method for quadratic permutation polynomial interleaver(2013-06-18) ;Lee Shuenn-Gi ;Wang Chung HsuanSheen Wern-HoAn address generation apparatus for quadratic permutation polynomial (QPP) interleaver receives several configurable parameters and uses a plurality of QPP units to compute and outputs a plurality of interleaving addresses according to a QPP function Π(i)=(f1i+f2i2) mod k, where f1 and f2 are QPP coefficients, k is information block length of an input sequence, 0≦i≦k−1, and mod is a modulus operation. Here we investigate the protein loading efficiency and release, as well as the structural properties of CHC protein nanocarriers. Bovine serum albumin (BSA) or its chromophore labelled version, fluorescein-BSA, was used as a model protein and the loading was performed with a simple mixing of pre-formed nanocapsules and protein. Dynamic light scattering and zeta potential analysis revealed that protein loaded nanocarriers with high positive zeta potential were formed. The protein loaded nanocarriers displayed a loading efficiency of 75% and a very slow protein release. In summary, our results highlight the potential of CHC as a protein nanocarrier, but also indicate that protein-CHC interactions need to be considered in protein containing CHC formulations where protein release is not the main function.Item type:Item, Delay cell and digitally controlled oscillator(2013-06-18) ;Lee Chen-Yi ;Yu Chien-YingYu Chia-JungA delay cell includes a first inverted transistor pair, a second inverted transistor pair and a plurality of delay units. Various morphologies of delta-Ni2Si NWs were successfully acquired by controlling the growth conditions. The growth mechanism of the delta-Ni2Si NWs was thoroughly discussed and identified with microscopy studies. Field emission measurements show a low turn-on field (4.12 V/mu m), and magnetic property measurements show a classic ferromagnetic characteristic, which demonstrates promising potential applications for field emitters, magnetic storage, and biological cell separation.Item type:Item, METHOD FOR VISUALIZING A COMPLICATED METRO MAP IN A LIMITED DISPLAYING AREA(2013-06-20) ;WANG YU-SHUENCHI MING-TEThe prevented invention provides a method to visualize complicated metro maps in a limited displaying area, in which the route to the passenger's destination is highlighted. The fundamental output (1064 nm) of a Nd: YAG laser is used for the pump radiation with the white-light laser output (1100-1700 nm) for the Stokes radiation to achieve broadband multiplex excitations of vibrational coherences. The second harmonic (532 nm) of the same Nd: YAG laser is used for the probe radiation. Thanks to the large wavelength difference between the pump and probe radiations, coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) and coherent Stokes Raman scattering (CSRS) can be detected simultaneously. Simultaneous detection of CARS and CSRS enables us to obtain information on the electronic resonance effect that affects differently the CARS and CSRS signals. Simultaneous analysis of the CARS and CSRS signals provides us the imaginary part of chi((3)) without introducing any arbitrary parameter in the maximum entropy method (MEM). (C) 2013 Elsevier B. V. We produced 1-C16H11+ and 1-C16H11 upon electron bombardment during matrix deposition of p-H-2 containing pyrene (C16H10) in a small proportion. Intensities of absorption features of 1-C16H11+ decreased after the matrix was maintained in darkness or irradiated with light at 365 nm, whereas those of 1-C16H11 increased. The observed line wavenumbers and relative intensities of 1-C16H11+ and 1-C16H11 agree satisfactorily with the scaled vibrational wavenumbers and IR intensities predicted with the B3PW91/6-311++G(2d,2p) method. Our method, being relatively clean with negligible fragmentation, is applicable to larger H(+)PAH; it has the advantages of producing excellent IR spectra covering a broad spectral range with narrow lines and accurate intensities, so that structural identification among various isomers is feasible.
