「嗨，你好，我就是林姿君！」迎面而來的是開朗而有朝氣的聲音，來自一名以客語創作的視障歌手──林姿君。除了那根紅白相間的導盲杖洩漏了一些謎底，否則從大眾的眼光看來，林姿君完全是個正常的漂亮女子。坦率自信的談話，比實際年齡年輕許多的清秀外表，甚至眼神也是如此明亮，讓人總是不自覺地看著她的眼睛說話，卻忘記在她眼前的人，只會是一團模糊的黑影。
Speckle reduction and maintaining contrast in a LASER pico-projector using a vibrating symmetric diffuser

We proposed a design for a LASER pico-projector with a low speckle contrast value and high contrast ratio that maintains system efficiency. The method for speckle contrast reduction utilizes two diffusers and a Voice Coil Motor (VCM) oscillator. The two different diffusers for a high contrast ratio and high system efficiency can be divided into two categories. In Category 1, the speckle contrast value can be decreased to 2.80% by using a circular symmetric diffuser. At the same time, the fullon/full-off (FO: FO) contrast ratio can be maintained within 1200: 1-1300: 1, but the system efficiency decreases 1.50%. In Category 2, the speckle contrast value can be reduced to 6.50% by using an elliptically scattering diffuser. At the same time, the FO: FO contrast ratio can be maintained within 1300: 1-1400: 1, and the system efficiency decreases by only 1.00%. (C) 2014 Optical Society of America

Photonic crystal waveguide cavity with waist design for efficient trapping and detection of nanoparticles

For manipulating nanometric particles, we propose a photonic crystal waveguide cavity design with a waist structure to enhance resonance characteristic of the cavity. For trapping a polystyrene particle of 50 nm radius on the lateral side of the waist, the optical force can reach 2308 pN/W with 24.7% signal transmission. Threshold power of only 0.32 mW is required for stable trapping. The total length of the device is relatively short with only ten photonic crystal periods, and the trapping can occur precisely and only at the waist. The designed cavity can also provide particle detection and surrounding medium sensing using the transmission spectrum with narrow linewidth. The simulated figure of merit of 110.6 is relatively high compared with those obtained from most plasmonic structures for sensing application. We anticipate this design with features of compact, efficient, and versatile in functionality will be beneficial for developing lab-on-chip in the future. (C)2014 Optical Society of America

課程首頁本課程是由交通大學新文藝復興閱讀計畫提供。 96 年 8 月當各大學紛紛摩拳擦掌準備迎接新生的同時，交通大學校長吳重雨則因為一則來自於七月份泰晤士報，有關於英國首相布朗公布其夏日讀書清單的新聞中，看到了他對知識的尊重。在這同時，吳重雨校長也思考著，要如何為學生準備追求知識的環境和激發他們對知識的尊重與喜愛。台積電張忠謀董事長曾陳述他 18 歲進入哈佛那一年，博覽文史哲理工經典群籍，至此奠定了他求知的基礎，並借海明威名言，將其改為「哈佛這一年為人生可帶走的盛宴。」吳重雨校長以張董事長的學習為借鏡，認為學生固然能藉由自我閱讀的方式學習到豐沛的知識，但透過名人、大師親臨現場地介紹經典書籍，更能加深學子們對於書籍的認識與興趣，這也是「新文藝復興閱讀計劃」 ( 以下簡稱 : 「經典名著選讀」 ) 活動展開籌劃的緣由。於是，吳重雨校長便積極敦請「交大通識教育委員會」，接手籌備本計劃的相關活動，而該中心也成為實際施行本計畫的策動、開課以及認證單位。至此，期許交大學子藉由閱讀、聽講來提昇人文素養、開拓視野的「新文藝復興閱讀計劃」，就此展開。
A General Central Limit Theorem for Shape Parameters of m-ary Tries and PATRICIA Tries

Tries and PATRICIA tries are fundamental data structures in computer science with numerous applications. In a recent paper, a general framework for obtaining the mean and variance of additive shape parameters of tries and PATRICIA tries under the Bernoulli model was proposed. In this note, we show that a slight modification of this framework yields a central limit theorem for shape parameters, too. This central limit theorem contains many of the previous central limit theorems from the literature and it can be used to prove recent conjectures and derive new results. As an example, we will consider a refinement of the size of tries and PATRICIA tries, namely, the number of nodes of fixed outdegree and obtain (univariate and bivariate) central limit theorems. Moreover, trivariate central limit theorems for size, internal path length and internal Wiener index of tries and PATRICIA tries are derived as well.

A heterostructure containing IC and LED and a method of fabricating. An IC and an LED are established with the IC having a first electric-conduction block and a first connection block. The IC electrically connects to the first electric-conduction block. A first face of the LED has a second electric-conduction block and a second connection block. The LED is electrically connected to the second electric-conduction block. The first electric-conduction block and the first connection block are respectively joined to the second electric-conduction block and the second connection block, and the first electric-conduction block are electrically connected with the second electric-conduction block to form a heterostructure. The heterostructure provides functions of heat radiation and electric communication for IC and LED.
Enhancing the electrocatalytic water splitting efficiency for amorphous MoSx

Amorphous molybdenum sulfide (MoSx) materials have been considered as cheap and promising catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). In this contribution, we report that the amorphous MoSx catalysts prepared by the low temperature thermolysis of the (NH4)(2)MoS4 precursors on carbon clothes (catalyst loading: 3.2 mg/cm(2)) exhibit a Tefal slope of 50.5 mV/dec and a high exchange current density of 1.5 x 10(-3) mA/cm(2) in 0.5 M H2SO4 solutions. Spectroscopic studies of the amorphous MoSx catalysts show that the increase of HER efficiency is positively correlated to the concentration of S-2(2-) species, providing strong evidence to support the argument that S-2(2-) is an active species for electrocatalytic HER. Additionally, the method for preparing catalysts is simple, scalable and applicable for large-scale production. Copyright (C) 2014, Hydrogen Energy Publications, LLC. Published by Elsevier Ltd. SCENE IMAGING METHOD USING A PORTABLE TWO-CAMERA OMNI-IMAGING DEVICE FOR HUMAN-REACHABLE ENVIRONMENTS

A scene imaging method using a portable two-camera omni-imaging device for human-reachable environments is disclosed. Firstly, an upper omni-image and a lower omni-image of at least one scene are captured. Next, image inpainting and image dehazing perform on the upper omni-image and the lower omni-image. Next, image unwrapping performs on the upper omni-image and the lower omni-image by a pano-mapping table, so as to form an upper panoramic image and a lower panoramic image respectively, and the upper panoramic image and the lower panoramic image respectively have an upper part and a lower part overlapping each other. Finally, a data item on the upper part and the lower part is obtained by view points of the scene and the pano-mapping table, thereby stitching the upper and lower panoramic images.

We develop analytic tools for the asymptotics of general trie statistics, which are particularly advantageous for clarifying the asymptotic variance. Many concrete examples are discussed for which new Fourier expansions are given. The tools are also useful for other splitting processes with an underlying binomial distribution. The present invention discloses a dissoluble PDMS-modified p(HEMA-MAA) amphiphilic copolymer and the method of fabricating the same. The amphiphilic copolymer of the present invention is fabricated via chemically bonding HEMA, MAA, and poly(dimethylsiloxane), bis (3-aminopropyl) terminated (PDMS) in aqueous solution. The PDMS-modified p(HEMA-MAA) amphiphilic copolymer can be dissolved completely in polar solvents, particularly alcohol solvents, to facilitate subsequent processing. The amphiphilic copolymer features adjustable hydrophobic-hydrophilic properties and exhibits excellent biocompatibility. Thus, it can be utilized in a number of advanced applications, including anti-fouling and drug delivery.

The present invention provides a frequency multiplier apparatus. The frequency multiplier apparatus includes an injection-locked frequency multiplier and a frequency-to-control signal converter. The injection-locked frequency multiplier outputs an output signal having a first frequency in response to an input signal having a first basic frequency. The frequency-to-control signal converter provides a first control signal to the injection-locked frequency multiplier in response to the input signal. The injection-locked frequency multiplier adjusts the first frequency to a second frequency in response to a change of the first control signal when the first basic frequency is changed to a second basic frequency.

The tracing device includes a label map and a first processing device, wherein the label map has a specific label attached on the specific attribute datum and a buffer region, and the first processing device is coupled to the label map and determines whether there is the specific label in the buffer region.

亮眼的紅色招牌與明亮几淨的店面，吸引了不少學生與老饕，走進彰化八卦山下ㄧ間港式燒臘快餐店，吊掛成排的鴨肉與撲面而來的菜香令人不禁食指大動。「歡迎光臨！」首先入耳的是ㄧ聲響亮親切的問候，接下來映入眼簾的是一張笑靨迎人的臉龐。她是林春枝，大家都叫她阿枝。只見她穿著簡單的格紋襯衫和戴著兒子送她的球帽，樸實的裝扮卻將她襯托得更加清新爽朗。臉上輕巧滑落的汗珠描繪出那略帶剛毅的臉龐，即使歲月在她臉上留下些許痕跡，卻仍然感受得到她那無與倫比的堅強毅力與對生命的熱忱。

勉力背著厚厚一疊會計學的專業書籍，嬌小的邱郁淇在證照補習班的課程終於告一段落。目前就讀於文化大學會計系四年級的她，正為了考取會計師執照而努力，每個周末別人放假休息的時間，她還是去補習班報到，期許自己能夠早日取得會計師資格。「人家不是都說，客家人很會算嗎？」邱郁淇促狹的笑起來：「我是客家人，所以應該會考上吧。」

身為客家人，林榮嬌自嘲沒有傳承到客家人的優點，「因為愛美，所以愛花錢。」曾經任職服裝設計師的林榮嬌笑著說。然而，溫柔的性情、將心比心的處事態度，以及對一切事物的寬厚包容，都在無形之中透露了客家女性的傳統美德。林榮嬌小啜一口茶接著說：「對的事情就該去做。」這份執著讓林榮嬌在生命的旅途中跌跌撞撞，要求完美總是帶來沉重壓力，但，正是因為堅持完美，才造就一名新一代的「客家大女人」。

位於新竹縣新埔鎮的照門社區，大部分的居民都是客家人，是個典型的客家庄。擂茶的清香滿布在街道上，環顧四周，一群小朋友正在初體驗擂茶的製作過程。其中一位突然喊道：「我已經成為一個道道地地的客家人了！」一隻紅蜻蜓飛過，與花朵上的蝴蝶交錯飛翔，一起飛過製作擂茶的孩童旁。這就是照門社區，客家與生態交融的富麗莊園。

朱豐昌，一位來自苗栗縣頭份鎮的客家人，現年四十五歲，目前是清大夜市『懷念口味』的老闆。朱豐昌從小生長在一個務農的傳統客家家庭，家中一年四季忙於農事，當然，他本身也得時常投入幫忙家庭中的生產活動。由於農業是個利潤不高但特別講究勞力投注的產業，因此造就出朱豐昌本身堅毅不屈、刻苦耐勞的工作精神。
