Reallocating multiple inputs and outputs of units to improve overall performance

"All decision-making units (DMUs) in the private or public sector are provided with a set of inputs of different values by their governing decision maker (GDM), and are required to generate a set of outputs. The GDM is able to reallocate the inputs/outputs among the DMUs to estimate the maximum absolute decision making efficiency of the sector. Serial models are presented to manage the interaction between two decision-making levels, GDM and DMUs, to provide the reallocated targets of inputs/outputs for DMUs in the next operating period. In our study the polydihexylsilane (PDHS), as a contrast enhancement material, we found that the values of A, B, and C of Dill's modeling parameters of PDHS are irregularly dependent on its film thickness, and also refractive index decreases during exposure. These difficulties make Dill's model inadequate for the simulation of contrast enhanced lithography. A new model was derived to simulate the nonlinear photobleaching curves of PDHS with varying thickness. Linearity was found with parameters in this equation as a function of PDHS film thickness. The thicker PDHS film does not improve the contrast within the usually used thickness range of 0.1-0.6-mu-m. This equation also models the nonlinear bleaching curve of p-diazo-N, N-dimethylaniline-chloride zinc chloride and the reported bleaching curve of CEM-2 quite well.

This letter describes a power GaAs bipolar-unipolar transition negative differential transistor (BUNDR) using n+-i-p+-i-n+ structure prepared by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). The peak-to-valley current ratios (PVRs), peak current densities and generated power outputs can be easily modulated by changing the third external base to emitter bias. A highest PVR of 140 with V(BE) = 0.5 V at room temperature has been obtained. For power consideration, it can be compared with resonant tunneling hot electron transistors. The bipolar-unipolar transition action was also confirmed experimentally.

Diamond was deposited in both film and particle forms by microwave plasma chemical vapour deposition (CVD) from both CH4-H2 and CO-H2 systems with additive gases of O2 and CO2. The products were comparatively characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy observation, and Raman and cathodoluminescence spectroscopy. Deposition parameters employed were a power input of 220 W, an H2 flow of 100 cm3 min-1, and a pressure of 3.3 kPa. The addition of O2 or CO2 gas resulted in increasing deposition rates of diamond, up to six times as high as the cases where no additives were used. The addition also resulted in improved crystallinity, so some were comparable with the naturally occurring type IIa diamond. The most favourable results obtained with the system CO-CO2-H2 make the combination appear to be the most promising for diamond synthesis by the microwave plasma CVD process. A possible mechanism of deposition from those gases is suggested.
