In this research, we attempt to develop a tool which integrates certain common geographic information from OpenStreetMap and Open Topography into Grasshopper. We name it as OSMKIT temporarily. Besides, in order to make the integration in the design process easier, this tool includes the bilateral conversion function of coordinate in Rhinoceros 3D and the coordinate of the World Geodetic System. These characteristics bring about several possibilities for further usage. This paper contains explanations of functions and examples. For instance, it can be employed for data visualization on a map when these data contain coordinate information. Additionally, since this tool is simple and intuitive to convert points into GPS coordinates, it can make users plan drone for photogrammetry and deal with other related tasks on the rhinoceros 3D interface, helping them to gain most current urban models. Moreover, architects or designers can be not only users but also contributors for open source map system such as OpenStreetMap; the process of sharing the mode which user measure is demonstrated in this paper. To sum up, this coordinate system based tool is designed to be multifunctional and suitable for interdisciplinary usages in grasshopper.

This study presented a votable concept mapping approach to promoting students' attentional behavior based on the evidence of mining sequential behavioral patterns. Twenty-nine students from an Educational Research Methodology course were recruited as participants. In the first week, a group-polling method was introduced in class; in the second week, participants were asked to draw concept maps using pen and paper (PnP concept mapping); and in the third week, the polling system and concept maps were integrated (votable concept mapping) and applied. The results showed that the votable concept mapping method was effective to stimulating students' attention during class. It was therefore suggested that teachers adopt methods integrating concept maps and polling tools to stimulate students' attention and thereby promote a positive cycle of attentional behavior in the classroom.

A novel financial time-series analysis method based on deep learning technique is proposed in this paper. In recent years, the explosive growth of deep learning researches have led to several successful applications in various artificial intelligence and multimedia fields, such as visual recognition, robot vision, and natural language processing. In this paper, we focus on the time-series data processing and prediction in financial markets. Traditional feature extraction approaches in intelligent trading decision support system are used to applying several technical indicators and expert rules to extract numerical features. The major contribution of this paper is to improve the algorithmic trading framework with the proposed planar feature representation methods and deep convolutional neural networks (CNN). The proposed system is implemented and benchmarked in the historical datasets of Taiwan Stock Index Futures. The experimental results show that the deep learning technique is effective in our trading simulation application, and may have greater potentialities to model the noisy financial data and complex social science problems. In the future, we expected that the proposed methods and deep learning framework could be applied to more innovative applications in the next financial technology (FinTech) generation.

In this demonstration, we present FIN10K, a web-based information system that facilitates the analysis of textual information in financial reports. The proposed system has three main components: (1) a 10-K Corpus, including an inverted index of financial reports on Form 10-K, several numerical finance measures, and pre-trained word embeddings; (2) an information retrieval system; and (3) two data visualizations of the analyzed results. The system can be of great help in revealing valuable insights within large amounts of textual information. The system is now online available at http: //clip.csie.org/10K/.

In this paper, we present an open-source project, Visi for high-dimensional engineering and scientific data visualization. Visi is with state-of-the-art interactive user interface and graphics kernels based upon Qt (a cross-platform GUI toolkit) and VTK (an object-oriented visualization library). For an initialization of Visi, a preliminary window will be activated by Qt, and the kernel of VTK is simultaneously embedded into the window, where the graphics resources are allocated. Representation of visualization is through an interactive interface so that the data will be rendered according to user's preference. The developed framework possesses high flexibility and extensibility for advanced functions (e.g., object combination, etc) and further applications. Application of Visi to data visualization in various fields, such as protein structure in bioinformatics, 3D semiconductor transistor, and interconnect of very-large scale integration (VLSI) layout is also illustrated to show the performance of Visi. The developed open-source project is available in our project website on the intemet [1].
